    I just realised the stained windows in this chapter is just the Princess, Smitten being true to himself yet again…

    Oooo it's so cool to see the Narrator reconsider, to see him realize that.. maybe an end isn't so bad. A story that goes on forever isn't much a story, after all.

      @NoHandle44 2 дня назад

      Yeah, I never knew that they would make a path where the Narrator learned his lesson before the ending. It's not anticlimactic, but it is sooner than I thought.

    I think the reason why the narrator is now hesitant to kill her is actually because this shows the futility of never-endings.
    Thinking of the later event, the long quiet ending, he might've instinctively noticed(or felt) that it will produce the same outcome.
    Of course, he is merely an echo. but should he have a brink idea of the world without princess, i thought that could be the case.

      What’s lovely about this ending is that it pretty much puts his thesis of a never ending story to a real litmus test, and obviously it doesn’t play out as he expected. He’s forced to empathise with the Long Quiet and the Damsel as Smitten forces them down the path of “domestic bliss” to inexorable failure, and it’s clearly impacted him in a way that clearly shows to us that his view point is disproven and he now understands that there are fates worse then death, and that his vision would clearly lead to that. That kind of long-standing empathy changes his mind, versus us just speed-running and killing the Princess in the first chapter and letting no chemistry develop and The Narrator getting what he wants with no downsides.

    • @theorangeoof926
      @theorangeoof926 День назад

      Additionally, the Smitten here could just be represented as how society forces the stigma on how couples should live like once they’re deep into their relationship, or just the ideal dream people have after settling down into a relationship. Unfortunately, in this case it just leads to endless and mind-numbing stagnation since there’s no real genuine and unforced interaction between the two and everything is set up to play “smoothly” by Smitten. At the very least, we get to see The Narrator get proven wrong and The Princess and Hero finally dance, so it’s a very good ending in my opinion.

      We've already seen what Oppy can do without us, and how terrible he actually is at it. 😂
      Cold, Broken and Contrarian would probably actually be better off: Cold would try to make the best of the situation before finding his way back to us; Broken, no longer having anything to not matter about, would go on a journey of self-discovery.
      Contrarian would break the rules of the construct, allowing it to simultaneously exist in different worlds and allow various perspectives to interact with eachother just to spite the many narrators. He'd even hold a cabin party just for this moment 😂.

    Is the shadow above the princess The Voice of the Smitten? If it is, that’s so sad to me. All he wants is the Princess’ love and he never really gets it and is instead disliked by the princess. :(

      Yeah i feel like this update is to show the lowest of loes the voices can go
      Opportunist becomes dangerous without proper guides or moral cuz of the narrator's bossy attitude
      Skeptic being less objective, and more delusional as now he doesnt just "think of a way to get out" of a problem and more of a "think of a way to get out" of a matrix....obsessed with "facts and datas"
      And i guess this one is Smitten loving too fast, too soon....becomes too weird, too much

    • @reubensalter8125
      @reubensalter8125 2 дня назад

      @GengUpinIpin Skeptic isn't delusional during that one though. He just becomes a completionist; he knows there's a bigger picture, he just can't see it.
      And Smitten still has good intentions, he just went about them the wrong way. There was nothing malicious about it.
      Plus we also get to the highest of highs as well - look at Broken.

      We're not monsters if we do that, we're giving her mercy. She's clearly happy that it's finally over. And the narrator doesn't even want us to do that now. If there's any indication that there are no wrong decisions it's this one.

      @@reubensalter8125 Then we are robbing her of dancing under the stars which she wants. Are we really giving her mercy? She doesn't really even seem happy, she's just so defeated that ending her life is relief giving to her. Heck, she looks even happier when she actually gets out and dances with you because it's actually something genuine.

      Subjective. The harsh princess is more entertaining but the kinder Princess's perspective actually shows how messed up the entire situation really is which helps with empathizing with her even more.
