Hm I'm not sure where I stand between this. It was my first TD which I really love. I do love the original aspect of it, high risk high reward. When I would play the tank I often try to experiment with different styles like going frontline with some heavies behind. In fun modes this tank is very helpful for getting those damage quest/missions for some events cleared etc. Regardless of what anyone says this thing will rule in pure damage in those particular modes, because it's fucking crazy xd. In all seriousness though, I don't think it needs to be buffed it's fine as it is to be honest. I do partially agree with it becoming a collector tank.
I remember having a battle on 183 with 5 or 6 shots, same amount of non penetrations and 0 damage total. All shots done with AP against non red areas of the armour and all the shots just went into nooks and crannies of the armour where it was impenetrable. Phenomenal accuracy on that thing
Wargaming will never remove the Fv215b(183) because that would mean rebalancing Fv4005. In the PC version they did remove it and replace it with the badger, but the FV4005 in the PP version also as 183mm gun. So they would need to add that into the game as well. Personally I like the FV215b(183) It’s good tank and the damage the gun does is very balanced.
I just got the 183 after 9 years playing this game. For a long time, it seemed to me the 183 was dangerous, but generally prone to wild shots and susceptible to getting COD’d by meds/lites. After playing one game in my new acquisition, I don’t know what the aim time used to be, but it felt like anytime I rolled into a shooting position and stopped, the gun was basically aimed in, ready to fire. I also noticed I was bouncing a lot more shots than I would have expected. I’m planning on abusing this new reliability of the 183 for as long as it exists. I know you’re focused on ‘true’ balancing for the game; my interest is making up for near a decade of getting rekt in lites and meds by the OG DeathStar. That being said, I appreciate your more ‘what’s best for the game’ focus. Maybe they just buffed the 183’s stats for this summer bash, and things will be ‘corrected’ in the next re-balancing of tier 10. I’d rather NOT see the tank relegated to fun modes or rare Death Star, like we just had for the Sheridan. Thanks for all you do, Droo!

why is it so coincidental that i get the 183 a week ago and we’re talking about this now. i would be fine if it became a collector tank and still be allowed in regular encounter and supremacy battles but i would have a serious issue if it only became playable in game modes
I am play on both version. I dont think it's good idea, but I think if the WG can place 183 near to normal fv215 and fv4005. Or they can make special weapon for fv4005 with 183 calibre
both shouldn't exist, this ain't war thunder that getting one shotted won't matter. But a HP based game that one tank gets a bit of your HP while the other leaves you just a bit. Balancing is a joke

Já faz mais de 6 Anos que eu jogo Blitz e já enfrentei milhares de Jogadores que usam 183, e não cheguei a Ponto de Pesquisar ele pela fama de ser feito pra Tóxicos(Tenho até a Skin de Graça feito pelo desafio B-C 25t vs 183). Pode ser que seja apenas no servidor LESTA, mas se essa idéia passar na Cabeça da WG, tenho que me apressar e Pegar o Meu Também pra que eu não perca essa Oportunidade.
The only problem I see in this is how they would rework the three tanks. The British tech tree will never be the same again if the 183 (the gun, not the tank itself) is removed from the tech tree
Overall stats from Btitzstars. FV225b(183) Damage per battle 1874 Kills per battle 0.77 It doesn't look like big beal. Majority of players aren't able play this tank like you.
I think that a good way to resolve this problem would be putting the gun of the 183 in the FV4004 (the tank that should have the gun historically) because the FV4004 is large so gets spots easily so it wil remove the camping part for a lot and has no armor making it more punishing to poke also I would then switch the 183 with the badger.
This is a good idea too. Also make the reload at 25 seconds flat even with crew skills and its shell velocity slower (bruh the thing have a subsonic shell that weights 65kg) to make it even trickier to be used long range and to force players to go front line if they wanted to actually contribute. I think the frustration with 183 comes from not being able to retaliate against it after dumping 1200 damage from afar (In IRL thats its job.) I think this changes would lessen that frustration with it. But in honesty, its a one trick pony that barely works on a hands of a pleb. Sure it does 1200 damage, but at my experience. It rarely changes the outcome of the battle since they are more of a liability since after dumping their shot, their unavailable again for god knows how long.
This was done in World Of Tanks PC already. Hardly unexpected. To be fair though, most people that play it suck hard and it's usually not a good thing to have them on your team.
Imagine if 183 becomes a collector and badger becomes a tech tree tank like wot pc, That makes more sense since the whole fv 183 line is maded of slow tanks with a lot of armor and dpm and it makes more sense for the badger to be the line tank
If you think the 183 is undeserving of a place in the game, you may not like the new Tier 10 WT. I promise you, it will be even more accurate... :D Also, do you then also consider the Jageroo overpowered? It sacrifices a turret for MORE acc and significantly more armor
Unfortunately, this game is shadowing its PC counterpart. What is removed, stays removed until they decide to make some sort of profit off of it or reintroduce said tank(s) in a new tech tree line, only to be in a nerfed state.
I think they should place the badger at tier X and make the183 a collector. they should make it available to high skilled or veteran players as a premium/collector
this would be such a good thing if it was brought to our version of WOT B, i think it would make more sense and also give another tank, besides its not like you wouldn’t be able to play the 183 anymore.... i do believe WG keeps buffing the 183 just because a lot of people play the tank, and around 60 to 70% of them do not play it correctly or are not very good players over all, so that brings down the statistics and makes it eligible to be buffed with WG non sense statistic related buffs or Nerfs....
The issues with the 183 in blitz is that their are only 7 players per team as opposed to 15 per team on pc. The 183 is more balanced on pc because the maps are bigger, armor is more prevalent on almost all tanks and their are twice as many players to shoot. Point being, you have a significantly smaller chance of being shot by 183 because their are twice as many players on your team to choose to shoot at and again, armor on pc is much more effective then blitz. Also, hp pools are larger on most tanks as well. Blitz has nerfed and dumbed all tanks down compared to its sister wot pc. Hence shorter rounds that require you to think and make plays a lot more quicker
It's a tough call. Remove the tank that's so popular and played by many players? Business wise would that be a move to keep those players happy? On the other side its too strong so I agree with you.
I usually agree with your opinions, but I have a different perspective on this one. Instead of removing this tank or placing it in the collectors' section, I believe we should consider its impact on regular battles. With the increase in the potential of fun modes, people are now running around like monkeys in regular battles, YOLOing here and there, losing all their HP but still managing to make others suffer with their reckless moves. There should be a tank like the 183 in place to punish these mistakes. As good players, we often deal with the 183 more easily compared to average and slightly bad players. That's why I'm saying the meta should shift towards tank destroyers now so that battles can last longer. Right now, every battle ends in 2 or at most 3 minutes. Whoever YOLOs first tends to win. One thing I suggest is to limit the number of 183s in each battle to a maximum of two, with only one per team. Additionally, players should not be allowed to play with 183s in a platoon for memes and fun. If they try to, keep them in the queue and don't add them to any match. Otherwise, it becomes frustrating for other players when they are hit by two 183s.
I mostly used to play in the 183. I loved the 183 because it was kind of challenging to pen shots even when fully aimed in. Basically, you needed good RNG and some kinda skill to do damage in the tank. Given the enormous alpha and the HESH capabilities, it was absolutely fair. When WG decided to buff the accuracy and pen, I didn't think much of it. In fact, I thought it would be enjoyable to play in it. It was indeed enjoyable tbh, since you penned most of the shots even when kinda snapping shots. But when i started going against other 183s, I finally started to realise how toxic this tank is in its current state. In my opinion, I would rather as you said, to be used only in game modes, with accuracy nerfed. Even making it a collector or removing it from the game is most welcome. Now I hate the tank so much so that I sold it and always try to destroy 183 or ruin their fun when coming across them in battles.
in wot pc u have 4005 instead of 183 which literally has a 183mm not the autoloader so thats why they removed it but in wotb we dont have 183mm for 4005 and unless they add it as a researchable gun 183 will stay in tech tree
The only logical thing WG could do if they want to change the tech tree like Lesta did is to introsuce a dedicated line to the British tech tree which has the 183 as the tier 10 and put a similar playstyle tank after the Tortois. Also: what about WOT Console? I'm not familiar with that. Doesn't they have the 183?
They have been talking about this forever. Years ago the 183 was the worst performing tier X by a huge margin. But people hated it - games were becoming boring as people refused to push or spot or doing anything offensive. It was then that people complaining about it such as Bushka taught most of us about the "meta", and why it was important. So WG nerfed the accuracy, the armour and the camo of the worst performing tank in the tier. And people still played it. But for some reason in the years since they just keep buffing it again without changing the playstyle.
W move, they need to do it asap, the earlier they do it the better as it means less players will get access to it. If they are changing muh boy the Mk6 without caring they should do the same with the 183.
The 183 is definitely an OP tank. The damage is ridiculous, the accuracy is way too good and you encounter this tank in every tier x match. Something to think about.

FV183b (if used correctly) You may have beaten all these tanks in battle, however when these tanks are on a decent enemy team? Hoooooeeeeeeeeeeeh!
It’s not getting removed from the wargaming version of the game. This change will only effect the Russian version of the game which is operated by Lesta.
In think is a good idea, but also the jag. E100 has become too popular and is much more annoying than the FV215 183, because it has better camouflage, with tungsten it can do the same damage as a 183 almost, it can do more 👇
Ammorack, has more armour, better reload time, much more precision, it is also annoying because it is also capable of giving you 1500dmg. The jag Is more annoying and stronger than the 183
I wonder if they could change the gun, and make a gun similar to the one from kv2 with long barrel, and instead of 1k damage, you can do 400 or 590 per shot and you can have 2 shots and a big reload time if you dump the shell.
Most of the things i agree with you droodles, but removing the 183 nah man. I mean most of the players can’t hit their shots and if they hit they use AP. It is a lot of health but otherwise you get too manny yolo’s, and the 183 prevents that because they don’t dare to poke.
I just grinded it had it for a few months now been playin 7 year now I love this tank It hits HARD ya theres matches where ya get 1 shot and dead but matches with 3 shots and you are damage leader with 2 direct hits with this tank You do more dmg then most of the team!!
For me, the tank deserves to be left at it is right now, because, you only see the "buff of the 183", but what happenes with jg, and all the destroyers, better accuracy, no?. So you cannot judge a tank when all the other ones are getting buffed and nerfed, the tank deserves being as it its, mainly because its hard to win a 1v1 shoot against and E100 for example,you cannot penetrate an E100 in hulldown, so you shoot he and ends doing as the same as the heavy, when the heavy has more hp, and more durability, also, the 183 has awful concealment, like the jg, so its not hard to spot it, you just played in an open map, but try playing in New bay, thats why you have videos in the 183 playing refular, the same for allies and enemies.Also you are an experienced player, enemies didn't seem to be very "good"

183 is fine but those who doesn't know how to use it calls it a noob tank or maybe calling the player a noob for using it. But it's also highly team dependent. If your team holds the enemies away from you then you are good...but if 1 flank goes down easily, you'd be lucky to fire 2 shots at most. 😁

Only if this was on the standard variant. The 183 is a nightmare to fight against. And 90% of the people who play is a under 50% bots. Its only purpose is to hit people for like 1k damage then hide, no skill. U peak in tier 10, good job u now loose 1k damage.
Hey droodles. Lesta on mobile also has a tank called Uran that you cannon pen at all. So do you want wg to do what lesta does with uran too or only 183? Just to understand what kind of tank is that: you cannon pen frontally that tank at all, and hatch is smaller than vk90

If you get shot by the 183 it’s your fault for trying to play the object rather than go afk in spawn.

FV4004 is the Conway, which never carried the 183mm gun.
It needs the .1 decrease in dispersion. Not that its going to feel any different 😕
The tank is a premium black market tank in pc, now it's going to be a collector tank in lesta they should also do the same for global blitz

I mostly used to play in the 183. I loved the 183 because it was kind of challenging to pen shots even when fully aimed in. Basically, you needed good RNG and some kinda skill to do damage in the tank. Given the enormous alpha and the HESH capabilities, it was absolutely fair. When WG decided to buff the accuracy and pen, I didn't think much of it. In fact, I thought it would be enjoyable to play in it. It was indeed enjoyable tbh, since you penned most of the shots even when kinda snapping shots. But when i started going against other 183s, I finally started to realise how toxic this tank is in its current state. In my opinion, I would rather as you said, to be used only in game modes, with accuracy nerfed. Even making it a collector or removing it from the game is most welcome. Now I hate the tank so much so that I sold it and always try to destroy 183 or ruin their fun when coming across them in battles.
in wot pc u have 4005 instead of 183 which literally has a 183mm not the autoloader so thats why they removed it but in wotb we dont have 183mm for 4005 and unless they add it as a researchable gun 183 will stay in tech tree
The only logical thing WG could do if they want to change the tech tree like Lesta did is to introsuce a dedicated line to the British tech tree which has the 183 as the tier 10 and put a similar playstyle tank after the Tortois.
Also: what about WOT Console? I'm not familiar with that. Doesn't they have the 183?
They have been talking about this forever. Years ago the 183 was the worst performing tier X by a huge margin. But people hated it - games were becoming boring as people refused to push or spot or doing anything offensive. It was then that people complaining about it such as Bushka taught most of us about the "meta", and why it was important. So WG nerfed the accuracy, the armour and the camo of the worst performing tank in the tier.
And people still played it. But for some reason in the years since they just keep buffing it again without changing the playstyle.
W move, they need to do it asap, the earlier they do it the better as it means less players will get access to it. If they are changing muh boy the Mk6 without caring they should do the same with the 183.
WOT pc has NOT removed the FV215 183b from the game, they moved it to the Bond shop and so you can buy it for 12.000 bonds.

The 183 is definitely an OP tank. The damage is ridiculous, the accuracy is way too good and you encounter this tank in every tier x match. Something to think about.

fv215b is a collector on wot pc and fv4005 is the 183 tech tree version iin pc so if wg removes the 183 then likely th 4005 will be get the 183 so its kinda pick your poison

It’s not getting removed from the wargaming version of the game. This change will only effect the Russian version of the game which is operated by Lesta.

I think Console WoT has the FV215 (FV215 B (183)’s actual name) and the FV4005 both with 183mm plus the fake WT E 100. I’ll check later to be sure.
If wargaming decides to make 183 a collector tank than they should revert the damage per shot to its original stats back to when the game was released

Ammorack, has more armour, better reload time, much more precision, it is also annoying because it is also capable of giving you 1500dmg. The jag Is more annoying and stronger than the 183

I wonder if they could change the gun, and make a gun similar to the one from kv2 with long barrel, and instead of 1k damage, you can do 400 or 590 per shot and you can have 2 shots and a big reload time if you dump the shell.

Most of the things i agree with you droodles, but removing the 183 nah man. I mean most of the players can’t hit their shots and if they hit they use AP. It is a lot of health but otherwise you get too manny yolo’s, and the 183 prevents that because they don’t dare to poke.
I just grinded it had it for a few months now been playin 7 year now I love this tank It hits HARD ya theres matches where ya get 1 shot and dead but matches with 3 shots and you are damage leader with 2 direct hits with this tank You do more dmg then most of the team!!
fv 215b 183 isn't really a derp gun in this game, you can even say, its as accurate as the grille XD

For me, the tank deserves to be left at it is right now, because, you only see the "buff of the 183", but what happenes with jg, and all the destroyers, better accuracy, no?. So you cannot judge a tank when all the other ones are getting buffed and nerfed, the tank deserves being as it its, mainly because its hard to win a 1v1 shoot against and E100 for example,you cannot penetrate an E100 in hulldown, so you shoot he and ends doing as the same as the heavy, when the heavy has more hp, and more durability, also, the 183 has awful concealment, like the jg, so its not hard to spot it, you just played in an open map, but try playing in New bay, thats why you have videos in the 183 playing refular, the same for allies and enemies.Also you are an experienced player, enemies didn't seem to be very "good"

183 is one of the funnest vehicles to play anybody who disagrees something is wrong with them
It’s a tank destroyer and it should be hitting as hard as it does. Rest of TDs are just heavies in disguise except for e100 jagpz. There are bigger problems with this game than 183
183 is fine but those who doesn't know how to use it calls it a noob tank or maybe calling the player a noob for using it. But it's also highly team dependent. If your team holds the enemies away from you then you are good...but if 1 flank goes down easily, you'd be lucky to fire 2 shots at most. 😁

Only if this was on the standard variant. The 183 is a nightmare to fight against. And 90% of the people who play is a under 50% bots. Its only purpose is to hit people for like 1k damage then hide, no skill. U peak in tier 10, good job u now loose 1k damage.
