Women also get it, initially the docs said I had fibromyalgia as I had pain my whole life which worsened in my mid twenties. I was diagnosed aged 30 with psoriatic arthritis, then also ankylosing spondylitis aged 34 on top of that. I suffer from sacroilitis, back pain, psoriasis, stomach issues, nail separation, bladder problems, tmjd, severe neck pain and also spondylosis which is causing impingementon my nerve running into my left arm. My hip joint is starting to hurt like hell now too so I'm praying it's not arthritis as that will eventually lead to a hip replacement. Oh and also costochondritis. So yes, women definitely suffer from seronegative spondlyoarthropathy, and some quite significantly.
What are your treatments? Are you on biologics? I have Ankylosing spondylitis too with stomach issues, problem in left side arm and chest, hip pains etc
I am also a woman who was active and thought the pain was mechanical. They are realizing that women have it too... Its just dismissed as other things like psychological, hormones or due to pregnancy etc. we get superficial and dismissive diagnosis like fibro or anxiety. Plus all the research has been slanted towards men for years up until recently. Women are tired of being gaslit and misdiagnosed or getting delayed diagnosis once major damage is already done. Please update your information.
I'm a 25 year old male and for the last 2 years my fingers and toes have been swelling up. I also have psoriasis so I am pretty confident I have psoriatic arthritis. The last few days I haven't been able to move my neck much cause my upper back hurts for no reason that I can tell. Guess I fit the demographic. Must be this. Super
Don't guess. Get it checked. My diagnosis took 25 years, and I can assure you that you wouldn't want to be living with the shit that I have. Once the damage is done, it can't be un-done. GET IT CHECKED!! And good luck...
I have PsA & I take Sulindac & it hardly helps me at all. I can only do tasks for 10 minutes at a time. It’s very frustrating. I think I will ask for a new back scan.

Sounds likely but also have blood pressure check(s), reduce sodium & drink plenty of water. These steps definitely won’t hurt.
