This is a view into the life (lives) of hard working people who seemingly had no one behind to keep a very large farm going. Shows a lifetime of work and preparation for seasonal variance. Humbling, yet glorifying, and set to some brilliant music. Made me wish I had known these people. Well done!
What is looks like is that at one time there were a husband and wife here. The wife left, by dying or leaving, and the man lived there up until his death. He more than likely was removed by the state for his own benefit and ended up dying in hospital. No matter what, this is one of the saddest youtube videos I have ever seen.
Thank you very much. Some stuff there is very old and some stuff is not too old. the blue hydraulic log splitter isn't very used or very rusted at all. For some reason I was expecting to see more shoes, but perhaps they took them when they left. Glad to see old places treated with some respect versus folks that paint, smash and destroy.
Absolutely amazing...specially to see all those lovely old things of times long gone and passed....still intact...certainly a " Time Capsule " ~ Lovely Video indeed..
Nice lumber stacked to dry. Bee keeping frames and extractor, the old guy was very able. But none of can win against time. I can tell a lot by looking at a man's work shop, and I like this guy, he did things well. There are a lot of old people in nursing homes, who live on and on, and refuse to sell their old homes. He may be one of them, or left unexpectedly, and never returned.
Finding ones lifetime of treasures, is a quick glimpse of his or hers past, present, future's meaningful commitment to dreams come true. Thank you for your dedication to details of the past!
lovely music suits the video very well.. get the real abandoned sad feeling .. wonder what happened to the family who lived here.. so many stuff just left behind.. great find.. thanks for the tour
What a video. This family's decades of living, you find yourself wanting to sneak back in time to be a witness to this farm. And on the farm you don't throw ANY THING away. Because on the farm you might need that one thing you saved for someday.
I really love your video's . You honour the people and places that you video and record. Thier lives. Thier homes. Thank you. Your respect and quality is well noted everytime. Well done to you. Wales UK thanks you.
l must say with your choice of music and not talking all the way through it along with some snap shots, this vedio was wonderful. Only thing missing was the smells. A climps into the life of others who are probably no longer with us. It leaves us wondering what happened to them and how every thing seen here is a reflection into their lives. I recall once as a young teen walking down some rail road tracks in the hill country of Virginia, where I was visiting just for a couple of days and never been back to sence. I came up on a old house abandon like this but it was just a house with out so many other buildings. There were no roads to the dwelling, their main source of travel was by train. Like here the house had been set free of its inhabitants long before my arrival. The most memorable thing I can recall was the bible and eye glasses left on the mantle above the fire place, a coat hanging nearby. All of this is a reminder to us, that we are simply passing through and one day we each will leave our momentoes behind for others to witness. Life here on earth is so much more than just things. It's a moment in time where the most important thing of all is how well we loved each other.
One man's life & work left in shambles ,it leaves me with so many questions. The music is wonderful , it really brings out the emotion on this one. Just lost my dad so maybe seeing it in a different light. Very well put together video.Let's all try to be happy while were still here?
Wow, this was really thrilling to watch. I come from Norway myself so it was quite interesting to watch. I wonder where this is, it said Porsgrunn and Oslo but I'm not so sure it's from those places. Also quite creepy how this place is abandoned. Everything is left behind, laundry, the table is set with dishes and so on. Wish I knew why they abandoned such a beautiful place. Looks like it's been a farm with generations living there. Sorry for my bad english but hope I'm understandeable. Hope to see more like this!
Thank you for sharing from Minnesota USA. Wonderful capture. A great time capsule. I can imagine Mother putting the kitchen curtains in the 1950's. Maybe the couple inherited from their patents and grandparents. Those wood inside the walls looked over a hundred years old in the main house. A working farmstead with a good creek. :D
A lonely old farmer dies. Servicemen collect his body and buried and the farm house stayed abandoned. in 20 years nobody did anything because this is not exactly their job. Now if a homeless family occupy the house, clean it and make is nice again, the authorities throw them away. Thank you for sharing.
Beautifully done - love the music as well. What a perfect find - looks like it's 'frozen in time', doesn't it? I'm surprised at so many rude comments posted at this site - no need for that - Why not just visit and admire the work that went into this. Thanks for posting this.
You have witnessed the legacy of a person who had no contact with family or friends. No one to administer their estate ..presumably. Awesome post Thank you !
Thank you for taking us through this most interesting place. This could not be taken in America or it would have been trashed and looted. Good work. Yes, it does look lonely...
Amazing music! Thank you for sharing. This is becoming the new normal. Like a Plague but only striking the whole world. So sad. Again, thank you for sharing.
I'd like to have those Model T ford coils shown (little rectangular wooden box looking items that has the contact points on top). That place is a virtual gold mine with all the antique tools and equipment.
Wow ,Awesome stuff..a much simpler life back in the day..Nice to see all the things they had to use..Love them old wood stoves they are just awesome...love the big barn also..great find..
People need to leave stuff the way it was. it may not be world known history but that's someone's history and when you touch, take or even vandalize it takes away from its history. Have some respect that's some ones belongings and this isn't for the poster of the video this is for the people that don't have the respect for the amazing history someone left for you to find.
They have left us with chronicles of the lives of fellow humans in our times. We’re lucky at this point we don’t have to buy tickets to get to see this natural history museum. This video was posted December of 2015. I am watching it in July 2019. It’s already history. Amazing display. Thank you. I applaud your presentation.
Some people take those old tools, saws, etc., and put them on their walls displaying a collection of old tools. It looks awesome. Also, when you have a wood or coal stove burning, that can create dust. I think it was a great video ! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
i have that exact same stove. made by the federal stove company out of chicago illinois. they went out of business in 1922. interesting that it made its way to Norway. mine is in my tiny house on wheels. it weighs 300 pounds and can only except an 11 inch piece of wood max length. the flue and ash door is missing on mine. the tractor looks like a Deutz D5006 built from 1954 to 1965 the cab over and the farmall were later additions from the 1980s. how ever that snowblower walk behind tractor was not built until the late 70's the engine is not seized up and the gas in the tank is not yet caramelized. which would age the machine in the mid to late 80's. there is a plastic bottle in there. they did not start manufacturing those plastic juice bottles until the late 80's to early 90. from what i can piece together. this was a very unassuming family that lived there. the male of the house had a wife and a teenaged boy, they also had a handy man from time to time. he out lived his wife. hard to speculate about the boy. all though the boy may have left. he married his wife in the 1950's.by the way i suspect that the man was a refuge from germany after the war. i would say that the husband and wife died of old age in the 1980's but some one kept coming back until the early 1990's. i wounder if it was the boy and soon after the boy just stopped coming back. i would say the boy is now in his 50's. thank you datapakx25 for that wonderful stroll of this farm.
+TheSolx1 That was long and interesting comment, have never seen that federal wood stove before ty for explain. Its not a snowblower behind that tracktor its wood cutter. Ty for watcing.
+datapakx25 at time frame 8:25. its a snow blower. sorry about the long comment. for me it is far more interesting to piece together a history. i have zero interests in collecting things. the mystery of the life and times of people are absolutely educational and amazing.
+datapakx25 10 horsepower, 32 inch wide, Thank you for the video and its good that you closed all the doors you opened. It makes us wonder the rest of the story, did the farmer just get old and go off to another living place?
Ok so I'm not feeling sad. Enjoyed the video, all the things there just like the ole guy wanted them. I think he passed on just like he wanted too. and I subbed because of the moment of you guys tying the shed back closed. Integrity is everything in this world. There's not many on this media outlet with that trait. thanks for the video
Really loved watching this one too! So good seeing it untouched and explored like this. Thanks again for the great video! :-) Also people making comments on the dust are not realizing that when a home is closed up properly with no breeze there is far less dust accumulating like a house with broken windows and open doors.
Hello ty for like this video my friend. thats best with exploring when you can come across places as this , it was so awesome . people are dust hungry and not realizing how things are.
This video is just heartbreaking to watch. Time is slipping away from us just like it did with this Family. I am sad now...I just want to cry. What Country was this filmed in?
Time marches on. I bet there's a great story behind that old place. Old couple living their whole life there and one dies and the other carries on till they just can't do it alone and a social worker takes them away or a friend checks on them one day and finds they have passed away. They have a small funeral and that is that. Sad.
What a gorgeous old stove, I've never seen one like that before at 1:47 mins. Just beautiful, I hope someone salvaged that. This looks like a place where the last family member dies and there is no one left to claim it and it's just left in time. Awesome vblog and good choice of music too. Enjoyed this.
I would give anything to be able to go anywhere and just explore like that. I think it's amazing to imagine what the people did at all the abandoned places...If walls could talk!!!
Awesome find, those are some of the best finds! No vandalism, everything still left like they will return any moment! Any ideas on what happened to the previous residents?
+datapakx25 There are a lot of explorers in the US that make it a point to not touch anything. Please do not clump all of us together. There are many respectful explorers. The ones that trash any old house are usually junkies. No need to swear
+Sharon Mullins I not tell all people wandalize and destroy in your country, but a hole bounch do that, its easy to see how most acting. only see some abandoned video and you see self most part of them is so totaly wrecked.
Fantastic old farmhouse like all farms you kept everything even if at that time you did not need it you might later. Some of the equipment probably is still used in some form or other. Here in Vt. We are the same most farmers are poor barely making ends meet and mostly not. We are used to getting along with little and bartering to help us manage. Stay safe and thanks for an awesome home!
In the end this belong to it older man... hermiting on his own until he died.. no family no money.. depressed and full of pain.. what I've learned that in morgues there's plenty of people who are not claimed.. life is so sad and time goes so fast and we never think that will be in that position.. but when you find all your family members dying off you're the one left behind... it's only a matter of time
Absolutely incredible! Gorgeous backdrop, what an awesome place. It is hard to watch videos Like This one. It makes me want to go exploring so bad it's painful.
Not Abandoned. This is very common in close rural families. They raised the children and finished out there last days in the family home. They did not end up in a lonely nursing facility. The children inherited the farm and built a more modern home on the far side of the property and left mom and dads home intact. This was a happy ending. This is very hard for city dwellers to understand. City dwellers put mom in nursing home then upon her passing inheriting money this is why they cant understand family farms. Its obvious this man filming is Trespassing.
I highly doubt this. These houses are re-used for generations, very commonly, in Norway. This looks like the main building could date from the 1800's or early 1900's. Sturdy and everlasting buildings. Also the cost of "just building a new house" is incredibly huge in this country. No way that a property like this would be able to fund it. It's just old and abandoned. It's not a mystery. Someone still owns the properly, that's for sure - but that doesn't mean they care about the old buildings.
That was an old mill/alte muhle, you can see where the grindstone was at 16:56, i think the man was a woodworker. Looks like last time he used the tractor was during snow, clearing the driveway. Awesome find, too bad someone doesn't buy the place & clean it up. Thank you/danke for posting!
Thanks for sharing your country. It is so interesting to see other places. Your video was very well done and it was especially nice to see the whole farm. There were some cool things there, especially if a person had more time to look around, not just junk like some people said. I wouldn't call it all junk and even junk tells a story! The barn and outbuildings were great too. All those big old wonderful wood beams and the wheels and antique tools. I think the sadist part is that it may just be left to rot.
I watched almost all videos available on RUclips of abandoned places. This especially touched me, made me sad and wondering how can there be so much sadness and loneliness in that house. In the 17:46 has several frames, to me it seems screens for stamping clothing or something else.
All I can see is Pain, The pain of loosing ones Home, One persons family owned Farm that had been theirs since the 1800's.I see hope vanished. I am an American of Norwegian Descent. My Grandparents were a proud proud people. they fought tooth and nail for all they had. I believe all people were at one time proud. That our governments stolen all dignity that the working class had given to themselves thru Hard work, unions that we fought to get.Threw out with the trash we need to start fighting again. The Rich will continue to strip us of all dignity offering us Jobs of servitude. Meaningless hand outs to keep us in line. Keep us fighting amongst ourselves over race and poverty. Dangling a carrot in front of our noses. This need not be our future. There is no more to loose. we have lost all our fore fathers fought to leave for us. We gave our rights as human beings away for what to feel secure. I never felt insecure. till they took my right to bear arms, my right to a GOOD Job.My right to travel freely, My dignity. I would die today if I thought it would give others a chance for the life we lost.
I salute you sir , you,ve survived long enough to observe the pattern of life , I have seen these circumstances happen time & again in my own once extended family , now it,s spinning down to me & as it is life,s demographics occurring , I can,t stop it as I,m part of it . In short , life,s a bitch & all we can do is live it , that,s all we,ve got . God save & bless children , think on .
That's crazy how a farm can just be up & abandoned like that w/ everything in tact & left behind like they were gonna come back in a few hours or something.
The old man died of a heart attack sitting in that yellow chair, reminiscing about his childhood & warm summer days spent on the farm with his dear departed wife.He was remembering that day of intolerable sadness when he found her dead in the very same chair.Every night since her death he would sit there by the window, whiskey in hand, alone, his shadow cast by the moonlight, embracing her as the tears flowed for the last time from his tired failing eyes.A passing cloud suddenly dimmed the moonlight as he breathed his last & was mercifully set free from the pain of memory.....His farm frozen in time, was destined to remain forever,a shrine to another passing life.....
+All Ball Yeah they can. I used 11 year old "AA" batteries once in a flashlight, they had been kept in my grandmother's house. I put them in a small Maglite and worked fine.
Some people went back to the countries that they or their parents came from. We've lost so many loved ones/friends and family... Missing & deceased. No one would understand unless they lived it. We have no one. The children were kidnapped in the United States and I wear the scar's from when I nearly lost my life shortly after the abduction of the children and the theft of my identity at that time. We asked the police to arrest the people living in my husband's house, but the criminals were living in the beautiful home so they must be the nice people. Wrong!!! His first wife is among the missing. It's too horrifying & mortifying. Maybe the people who were there came back to what they knew or remembered. Maybe they had children and they perished or went missing & so maybe they have the manufactured in Wisconsin USA because someone sent it to them or more likely they brought it back with them. We are finding things out that no one ever told us.. somebody should have said something... somebody should have told us.
MrRichochet - Not sure, but the composer probably committed suicide very soon after he finished the composition. He must have lost his entire family in a plane crash, just before his house burnt down & was paralysed in a car crash. That music must have been inspired by extremely depressive events!..
If someone could buy that property there's more than enough antiques there to pay them right back... I seen nearly around $100,000.00 easy if you sold it all off cheep... I'm sure there's more that I didn't see... The owners are setting on a small fortune. But maybe they just don't need the money...
A small fortune, you say? Hundred grand you say? I bought this last year, from some real dishonest types, wich lied about everything and really f'd me over. Since this vid were made, the ravens have picked it clean, just trash left, some of em even steal the trash :( What sort of country do you live in? I might like to do some exportin. If youre in the market for some vintage tincans full of used nails we can do business ;)
is it wrong of me that I would have taken some stuff like the first picture on table, etc and cherished it? I don't think so. it's history and will be gone to waste one day...
Wow, great video. I couldn't stop watching. Thanks!

Very beautiful and made me feel strong sense of sorrow. Thank you for sharing!
I got depressed watching this video, you live life but eventually everything is left behind. just sad.
yes was like an epic poem of life, but made me happy
All we are is dust in the wind, dude.
what are you 5yrs old? We come into this world with nothing, we leave the same way.

Thank you so much for sharing your informative historic video. I saw a number of item's that would be collectible in america.
Awe I love the old stoves such a lovely place..thank you for the tour
What an awesome wood/coal stove that was in the first room!
Dette er definitivt favoritt videoen min. Musikken og alt gjør den så utrolig hjerteskjærende. Et liv levd... og glemt. Den beste du har laget hittil!
Great video love the view from your point of view

All that liquor looks relatively new, plus the trash bag in the first room is like a new glad bag
What a neat old place and a cool explore. Enjoy watching your channel

Good video, such a waste of machines and tools.
Good video.
A lonely and sad feeling to these buildings, the music sure helped.
Best regards from Sweden.
I would give anything to be able to go anywhere and just explore like that. I think it's amazing to imagine what the people did at all the abandoned places...If walls could talk!!!
+Heather Sipe Why can't you?
+gforce4all I live in NC and there is NOTHING available around here. If it was...I would definitely be there. :)
Come explore with me
Great find and thank you so much for adding the photographs you took to help us viewers!!
+Angie Winks Ty for like it.
Awesome find, those are some of the best finds! No vandalism, everything still left like they will return any moment! Any ideas on what happened to the previous residents?
+Explore With Us Ty yes those finds are the best you can explore like it should be USA peopel learn from this get u hands away.
+datapakx25 why make the statement about u.s. ? you piece of shit!
LOL fuck you
+datapakx25 There are a lot of explorers in the US that make it a point to not touch anything.
This is awesome!! Keep up the good work guys!! I subscribed!!
I was waiting for Jason to pop out at any time !
decoysk i
Hiii
Whoever lived there was pretty self sufficient , even kept bees apparently! Nice job.
In the end this belong to it older man... hermiting on his own until he died.. no family no money.. depressed and full of pain.. what I've learned that in morgues there's plenty of people who are not claimed.. life is so sad and time goes so fast and we never think that will be in that position.. but when you find all your family members dying off you're the one left behind... it's only a matter of time
incredible, there's so much left behind!
This whole video was heartbreaking to watch!
Absolutely incredible! Gorgeous backdrop, what an awesome place. It is hard to watch videos Like This one. It makes me want to go exploring so bad it's painful.
Hi Thank for like this exploring of this amazing place.
It looks like it was owned by a elderly farmer that died in the 1980's and it has been sitting since.
The Decor & Contents made it look a lot older than 96. Great Clip. A little Treasure Trove.
Thank you/danke for posting!
they must of died and had no one to take care of the estate what a shame lots of good stuff left to rot.
Thanks for like my vids , i also like watch from other countries coz exploring is so different around the globe.
I watched almost all videos available on RUclips of abandoned places.
This especially touched me, made me sad and wondering how can there be so much sadness and loneliness in that house.
In the 17:46 has several frames, to me it seems screens for stamping clothing or something else.
+Mimi Sampa what you see in the room is equipment for bees , sling for honey .
Thank you. More videos to come? :-)
You welcome ty for watch, yes more coming soon.
that is a beautiful piece of land, and some very interesting things
Some of the tractor equipment is not old, i dont believe the place have been abandoned for so long!
I LIKE THE FACT, THAT SOME RESPECT WAS SHOWN TO THE PERSONS LAST HOME, NO BREAKING THINGS, NO GRAFITTI.
Well said I couldn't agree with you more
I salute you sir , you,ve survived long enough to observe the pattern of life , I have seen these circumstances happen time & again in my own once extended family , now it,s spinning down to me & as it is life,s demographics occurring , I can,t stop it as I,m part of it . In short , life,s a bitch & all we can do is live it , that,s all we,ve got . God save & bless children , think on .
Well said I couldn't agree with you more. So sad . Frustrating and heartbreaking .
Our words exactly! Well said Thank You!
Omgosh, that bench in the barn was Beautiful
That couldn't be in America..The place would of been spray painted, the walls kicked in and all of the copper plumbing would of been stolen.
Its from scandinavian, you can clearly see the pics on tha wall and the "tømmerkalender" at the wall
@@hyesterettsjustituariuskvn431
Also the label on one of the boxes said Oslo.
It can be vandalism here in norway too
That's crazy how a farm can just be up & abandoned like that w/ everything in tact & left behind like they were gonna come back in a few hours or something.
Strange there is no vandalism. You sure you are not trespassing?
+Nikki Nickerson Thats not strange at all this is not in US.
The old man died of a heart attack sitting in that yellow chair, reminiscing about his childhood & warm summer days spent on the farm with his dear departed wife.He was remembering that day of intolerable sadness when he found her dead in the very same chair.Every night since her death he would sit there by the window, whiskey in hand, alone, his shadow cast by the moonlight, embracing her as the tears flowed for the last time from his tired failing eyes.A passing cloud suddenly dimmed the moonlight as he breathed his last & was mercifully set free from the pain of memory.....His farm frozen in time, was destined to remain forever,a shrine to another passing life.....
couldn't have been abandoned that long if there was still juice in that flashlight battery...
+Tim Leach Bullshit , battery can work for decades.
+datapakx25 No they cant
+All Ball Yeah they can. I used 11 year old "AA" batteries once in a flashlight, they had been kept in my grandmother's house. I put them in a small Maglite and worked fine.
+Tim Leach Well, the latest date they found was 1972 at 11:54.
+Blackguard 3:16 3:07 1996
Thank you for posting. It is very sad to see all this things and the person - is gone .
The Ariens snowblower is Made in Wisconsin, USA.
Very cool... Thank you for filming this home
What is the name/composer of music in the background around the 3:30 time in the video??? I love it!!!
+MrRicochet9 it's the "Knights Of Palmyra"
jeff Floyd Thank you!!
+MrRicochet9 - doesn't sound like "Knights of Palmyra" (by Jo Blakenberg) to me, but I too would like to know..
MrRichochet - Not sure, but the composer probably committed suicide very soon after he finished the composition. He must have lost his entire family in a plane crash, just before his house burnt down & was paralysed in a car crash. That music must have been inspired by extremely depressive events!..
+SKYLANDBAK Yes, extreme pathos (brought to mind the farewell scene from Lord of the Rings), but I'd still like to know the composer.
Every time I watch vids like this I half expect to see a ghost or a crazy person run straight at the camera. lol Keep up the good work :)
I enjoyed the music... it fit the ominous mysterious feel.
is it wrong of me that I would have taken some stuff like the first picture on table, etc and cherished it? I don't think so. it's history and will be gone to waste one day...
