One note on the Experimental Era: I think it's produced Disney's most "cult classic" type films. Films like The Emperor's New Groove, Treasure Planet, Lilo & Stitch, Chicken Little, and Meet the Robinsons have really dedicated followings, but don't have the same cultural dominance that other Disney films do

Small thing, but adjusting everything to inflation is such a nice little thing that helps comparing stuff easily.

Superb video - it conveyed more in under 12 minutes than many other RUclips videos about Disney have done over twice the length.

This video made me realize how well Disney has done recently. I look fondly upon basically all of Disney's recent films, of The Revival Era

I love the Dark Ages movies, The Fox and the Hound is an absolute classic I grew up with! Like these movies way more than the ones from rennaissance and revival, actually, they seem way too commercial and by the numbers for my taste. Cool video though, interestering to see it layed out like this. Sad that such a talented studio is also such a destructive force in the industry as a corporation.

Snow White’s impact on cinema is up there with Birth of a Nation and Citizen Kane. It can’t be overstated.

Even tho I was only born in 2004, I grew up with the Disney Renaissance era. I grew up with every single movie from that era and I adore all of them. I also suprisingly grew up with even older movies like, Robin Hood, Sleeping beauty and Jungle Book.

I don't know if you'll see this comment but I love everything about your videos. The presentation, the music, your cold analytical voice. Keep it up.

I really like this channel, and have learned a lot from it, but loads of this video essay is plagiarised directly from a BFI article. Some sentences appear word for word and there’s no mention of the article.

It has been a revival, of sorts. Although, I think that many of the films that came out post-Tangled have been mediocre at best when it comes to story - and I'm specifically talking about movies made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, not their subsidiaries. And when I say mediocre, I'm not talking about the removal of the romance aspect at all - I'm talking about the characters and the plot, and in some cases the music. Moana was a prettily animated but forgettable film, and her character song was basically "Let it Go" but slightly tweaked. Don't even get me started on Raya and the Last Dragon - I stopped watching that movie 40 minutes in because it was so painfully shallow and predictable. Admittedly, I've not seen Wreck-It-Ralph, so it's not in my dog house, but Frozen is. The more I think about the movie, the less I like it. The music was good, but that is about where my appreciation of the film ends.
