    Josh the reason you were getting mixed audio reports is probably because you need a choke between the radio and amp. I’ve been running this setup for 3 years or so. Also my diy 599 battery needs 16 volts to charge,yours may be the same.

    Josh, I am an old Gen-Xer that used to DJ Goth/Industrial/EMB music. I am thinking we can use sound samples from 7.200mhz and mix it I'm with drum beats, barks, roars and tasty guitar riffs--we could start a band.

    I wanted to do SOTA since I hike and ride ADV motorcycles but it's frustrating trying to learn when there's too much conflicting information and conflicting personalities in the hobby. Now I'm stuck with a boofwong handheld and a burning dislike of the FCC and the sad hams alike
