The frowning on bragging. I can’t imagine what your president must have thought of our last one and the one who is trying to get back in. 😂 how utterly embarrassing.
Vad är det som är intressant?Jag har levt hela mitt liv kring tornedalen och har inte sett något som är intressant. Att fjäska och göra sig till hjälper ingen.
Think about characters played by Clint Eastwood. They’re always cool but don’t go giggling around much. Well, it depends on where you’re from in Finland and personal traits too. Some are more talkative and “happier“ than others. We get along fine, though. It’d be terrible if we were all the same.
So one of my kids is going to be studying in Finland later this year and your videos have made me realize that she’s naturally Finnish. Hard to tell what she’s thinking, gets along without a bunch of friends, very direct and to the point. I’m going to guess she’s going to like saunas but Americans tend to be prudes when it comes to public nudity. We shall see. Also, she learns languages very quickly so I think she’ll adapt well and won’t ever come back. I give her 6 months and you’ll think she was born there.
About the name day thing- Here in Spain we have something similar, and (at least in my family) we just congratulate the person w the name of that specific day. Love to hear that this also happens in other cultures!
Concerning religion: I'm Finnish. My dad was very religious, but I had no idea (until he passed). We had no crosses on the wall or such, never talked about god, never went to church etc. My dad actually didn't belong to any religion officially!
You and Varpu are so funny and nice 😂 you seem to be very good friends, is it an old or relativel new friendship? 😊 Because if it's not very old, it shows that you Finns are actually pretty friendly and nice 😊 Or at least is the all the level of friendliness i need for my life, and I'm Italian...
I noticed that there are some similarities between my people (Mongolians) and Fins. Also i noticed some similarities between language, not sure if there was some close historical relation between these 2 countries or not, or it is just cold country people commonalties 😂
Hey could you please guide me how to proceed learning Finnish ? I wanna know what should I do first then second then third.Infact stepwise process,so i could save my time. Waiting for your feedback ❤
Hey. I suggest you forget about grammar rules and try to learn conversational Finnish. These two are vastly different, and speaking is much more useful.
"It's not weird, it's Finnish." That is a good one. "Weird" in the US now applies appropriately to the right wing party here. A couple of things, back in the 70's at university, the gym showers were like the Finnish ones. I don't know if that has changed. Then, I have been going to flea markets, garage sales, and thrift shops ever since to buy most things. For example, you can find virtually new clothes for just a few bucks and there are a multitude of other useful things at very bargain prices. No fast-fashion for me.
What's your favorite feature of Finns?
I want a video on Finnish school system and education system
Everything😮😅
Dependability, honesty.
Handsome Finnish cops on poliist show. Finnish cops can sing Christmas songs! 😊

Who knew it was Christmas in April? I’m so happy to see a new post. Thank you friend and I can’t wait to visit your beautiful country next month.✌🏻🤙🏻🙏
You are so welcome!
Glad to have you back! Finnish culture is always interesting!
Or strange, at at least. 🤪

As a Finn-American I was always told I should smile and talk more. It took me a long time to realize I’m just Finnish.

Good to have you back! Hyvä video on aina suomalainen 😝
I find most of these to be the complete opposite of Irish culture, which I find very exhausting as a Hungarian. Hope to see Finland one day.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I feel assimilated into Finnish society already haha. A lot of these traits we Estonians have too
Maybe a 99%? Or not so much ?
Well, Estonians are closely related too. I love you guys. My best wishes from Finland.

Actually, it's the Democrats, the far-left Liberals, and the woke agenda that are weird. Everything is about "feelings" with them.
1. Respect for personal space , physically and virtual
2. Obligation for promises.
3. Politeness
You can buy alcohol at bars until 5am, at least.
