What a pretty looking car ❤. I’m Just on with a similar thing a BMW E36 GTR race car with full space frame , double wishbone suspension / uprights and composite body . I can’t fault any of your work here it’s very nice . Just a couple of things to take into consideration if I may . 1 Be careful if you line the gearbox tunnel with a foam core composite if your exhausts run close to it . I ended up making my tunnel from steel to about 150mm from ground level then made a full length mold for the top half for a carbon fibre cover. This can then be bolted on and off easily for maintenance. I then used hexagonal riv nuts in the steel . Having a steel bottom half then allows a higher gearbox mount for exhaust clearance. I also fabricated 2 Propshaft guards for safety. Steel around the bell housing adds a little extra weight but is better for safety and if like me there is very little room for feet and pedals ( mainly because I have moved my engine 250mm back ) . Secondly I have gone full flat floor and rear diffuser. The diffuser starts on my car just behind the drivers seat . This gives better aero / ground effect due to the negative pressure being further forward. Ideally I should have made my gearbox tunnel tubes gradually raise from the footwell , this would then allow my diffuser start from there instead for even more ground effect. I’ve gone Porsche 992 cup car brakes as they are cheap with load’s around from race teams . Plus this also allows centre lock wheels if you use Porsche cup hubs ( not road car ones as early 997’s had a problem with the nut coming loose ) . Lastly I’d recommend the Mk1/2 escort GP4 engine mount bush / method. Their excellent and very affordable, just make sure you get proper rubber ones as some cheap polyurethane ones from china can break up and crack . If your stuck for bespoke wheels I have a man here in the UK that cnc machine’s them for split rims . Forge 2 do some very affordable wheels too , they made me a set to my PCD and offset within 3 weeks . Around £1200 for 4 , and my supplier has used these on TCR’s and Porsche race cars with no issues. Lastly watch out if your going for a deep dish look as this effects the scrub radius and KPI . Any questions just ask I’m happy to help . 👍👍👌
Thanks! Most of the things you are mentioning are things I have considered, but thanks anyway for pointing them out. 🙂 I really have considered bespoke wheels, since I really can't find many with the correct look, PCD, offset, width etc. Can you put me in contact with your guy, and I can ask him for a quote? Thanks!
@ no problem sometimes it’s easy to overlook certain things when designing a car . We’ve had a set of 2forge made and are very happy. Many UK BMW race cars run these with no problems. We ordered them through a UK motorsport distributor these were 11x18’s for a 5 stud BMW PCD . There should be a distributor in your country. Image wheels make split rims of various styles but the lead times are sometimes 3-6 months and are quite expensive. UK based My first option for bespoke would be Carl at Force Racing Wheels ( based in Leeds UK ) . He’s very nice to deal with and machines all his own centres. He’s a one man band so you will be actually be talking to the guy who machines them . He’s done one offs for a friend of mine before and may consider some for you if you ask . Hope this helps 😉
@@newagetemplar6100, Thanks! I have looked at 2Forge and Image wheels many times, but I havent't found anything I like yet (although new models pop up, so you never know). I will contact Force Racing Wheels. 🙂
@ 👍, Carl also Anodises the centre’s too . Skidmoore’s garage / YT has some in his cars he builds. If your running daft power the later M4’s use a 14mm wheel stud .
Good Luck with the project !!
Thank you very much! :)
That is a huge project, it's going to be amazing 👍
Thank you very much! I hope it will be, in the end! :)

Just subbed and looking forward to follow along!

Whats the car at 0:02
It's all the same car at different points in time since I bought it. The first picture is a Blender rendering. 🙂
