Steph you need to get a bottle opener & just put it under the lid but don't pop it into the lid. Just use the bottle opener as leverage. So... Once you hear that pop that means you popped the seal. Then just unscrew the lid & its an easy way to open lids.

If you tap side of the lid of the jar on the counter top a few times, then try to open it, It will be easier. By tapping it released some of the air that keeps the jar shut tight.

That kitchen is so nice!! Love that stove. I always prefer gas over electric. And the tap over the stove top that's so neat!!
me too for years i had gas and then i moved to my present location 23 yrs ago and i have electric and always hated it
