Those Days of 2009...When I used to Hear this song On 93.5 Red FM.. it had a show called " Super Hits Music Show SMS" it used to be aired late in the night at about 10:30 pm .. Even though I had to go to the School at 7am the following morning.. MEMORIES.. WHAT ELSE!!
This is masterpiece created and sung by Rahman. This song has a divine quality in it. Lyrics is as fresh as the smell of soil when it rains first in the monsoon. Only a genius can create such piece of music. Actually this work is not piece but a whole story or epic in itself. I have lost count how many times I have heard this song.
. AR Rahman introduced Bollywood to new instrument "Continuum Fingerboard" The last 2 minutes of the song with a melodious tune was not played in a flute but was played in continuum fingerboard.
This takes me to my memory lane, listening to this song while travelling on local trains in Mumbai. And missing my love. It used to feel that you are in the most crowded city and still feel alone. You, Miss that every moment. A moment that we spent with a hope, with a dream, with a future to live together. Thank you Rehman Saheb for making a masterpiece of emotions.

The book Abhishek Bachchan reading at 04:53 sec, is "Demons of Chitrakut" by Ashok K. Banker. It's a worthy and great read. You guys must give it a shot. A portrayal of Ramayana with an amazing perspective and narrative. Also the film "Delhi-6" uses Ramayanic symbols throughout...
This is one of the greatest songs ever made, especially for Bollywood. The composition is so complex and unpredictable, and yet the song still flows smoother than butter. Rahman is a genius.
4:47 sec - The trademark sound effect of A. R. Rahman, EP Pad, just induces the wimpiness and invokes the listener to get alleviated. 4:48 sec onwards, he initiates the Haken Continuum fingerboard with composure at the root note "Sa" to execute solace by easing out the melody. I loved that how beautiful he lays his melody on the resting notes such as Sa, Ga and Pa (1st, 3rd and 5th notes of scale) to hold the listeners and not making them restless. The continuum fingerboard is rendered so outstandingly as if ARR has just erased the chaos of the listeners. The way he starts the melody in major and later switches it to a minor scale but then again shifts it to major symbolises the reminiscence of our inner chaos. As if, ARR reminds us that, we still have to return to reality, after imagining so much in her heads while listening to the melody. That last fingerboard melodic part is so elegant and must be relished separately.
@@ashwarya26 Specifically, A. R. Rahman has a distinctive style of composing music. You can find a profound impact and similarities in his compositions such as, "Dil Bechara" title track "Tu Koi Aur Hai" from Tamasha, "Aise Na Dekho" from Raanjhanaa, "Saarattu Vandiyila" from Kaatru Veliyidai, "Maahi Ve" from Highway, "Tum Ho" from Rockstar etc. These songs are relatively similar and share the same dynamics of musicality. The mellow methodization of the music makes the listener feel the smoothness, fabricated within the layers of instrumentation. These are not hefty songs. These are gentle and mildly formulated. Thus, giving you a feeling of solace.
