11.00 non esisterà mai più un album della grandezza di incantations. L' Everest musicale.solo un grande genio poteva crearlo, non c'è una sola nota fuori posto.grazie MIKE
I love the last part of Incantations.....I just well up and my emotions just go into overdrive.....Brings back memories of happier times that I wish I could get back. Maddy Prior's vocals are amazing on this album ... Mike Oldfield is a musical genius!!!! I have loved his music since Tubular Bells.....Have bought all his albums.
seeing all the accolades from folk like me gives me "butterflies" now at 66, i,m in the group of others who truly appriciate and "grew up," along with Mike with all of his great works, which "may I add" keep finding more of them as I scan the internet It,s never ending and I,m still enjoying past and present master peices and more that I never knew existed ,cheers Mike, keep it going, ....😄😄😄
Back again...That damn "Space Movie" footage...I am floating above it all (no need of LSD for me, I have Mike)... In my absolute ignorance I can only suggest that, after many, many listening's (how many years?) the 'Incantaions' piece is such a beautifully simple piece (layers obviously granted) that it hits that 'human' chord/resonance (at least for me). The 'Moonshine' track leaves me breathless...I'm an iron-Age Celt playing synth...? And 'The Lake ' just intimately reminds me of all the bodies of water I have had the good fortune to live with (our surface water in Australia often includes mosquitoes, midges and flies(which is perfectly musically depicted by the opening of 'The Lake') and then the progression to deeper and more profound waters...How many tourists have suffered, and died, from the undercurrents. Then, Dave, you throw in a bit of 'QE2"(? I didn't check the score), but again a great mix. I am humbled!
Again.. I thank you. Why am I crying?...Oh, the pure and utter joy! What a poignant (to me) compilation you have provided...My tears of joy are going to screw with my keyboard, but also hard to shed tears while smiling like a deranged idiot. If I may quote paulwebster9731..."my emotions just go into overdrive".
Thank you! You took me home... I'm a little bit teary! (I have it all on Vinyl and CD of course...except this piece I'm now listening to as I write...Oh Shit, I have to hit replay, and find it! and it turned into a 'reel' or 'jig'...)
I been into mike,s music since the early 70.s. When you bought LP,s, In them days, you got to know the Shop assistance, and they got to know your taste, Which I miss today, someone to talk music and Hifi with. Mike music was like a new breath of air, A new type of prog rock, I would go early morning, to hear his music, On them great big sound system in the shop, and there was No other punter giving you feed back, and o that blessed sound coming out the speakers quaint essential unique, with a sense that made it such a positive and yet so enriching sound. still feel the vibes today.
I discovered Mike's music in early 74, but I did not know who it was at the time...My brother, a musician, let me discover all his collection and I've never looked back, now my brother is gone but I still have his records and listen to them often...
It's incredible, this is major art ! Wonderfull, "intemporel " in french... Mike and familly are so good, it's a poor Word, I liste with attention, so rich, différents themes like in classical music. I love this so much ! THANKS To Mike Merci ! Lolilo
I like all the music of Mike Oldfield, my brother Paulo was the person guilty of that. My brother died but I don't resist at the wonderfull music of Mike Oldfield...
@Dave Telford God damned, it is 10th time when I listened your masterpiece! Do you hate me? I don't wan't to be sleepless!😎 Once again: Thank you for the music, Sir! Arnold Sturm from Romania
Mr Dave Telford...or anyone else. Can someone please inform me where the somewhat 'Celtic' piece of music that follows the initial 'Incantations' in this compilation comes from... please. A totally and utterly wonderful compilation. We really do share a love of Mikes work... still...that 2nd track?
@Dave Telford Since you have posted this "bijoux" I have listened it 6÷7 more times. Once again " thank you for the music" that you share us! Arnold Sturm from Romania
Discovered Mike my junior year of high school when our exchange student gave me a copy of Tubular Bells 2, and I was mesmerized by this man's music instantly. At first because of the obvious Exorcist element, but as I listened to it over and over, (still do to this day!) I kept finding more and more things to appreciate be inspired by. Might sound cheesy or whatever, but I don't care, Mr. Oldfield's music is unlike anything else, in my humble opinion! Thanks for this!
LA MÚSICA DE MIKE OLFIELLD ES FASCINANTE Y ME APASIONA, PERO SI LE QUITAS LAS VISCERAS QUEDA UN TANTO DESCAFEINADA. MEJOR COMPLETA CON SENSIBILIDAD, RABIA E IRA, TODO MEZCLADO.

This is really, really good!!! ... In case I didn't make it clear. (my neighbours might disagree)
Gran recopilatorio, enhorabuena!!
Grade MAESTRO!!!
If there is a God, he has often spoken through Mike. As Einstein, another INTP, has said, Love is the greatest power and wisdom in the universe.

nice instrumental version of moonshine... But he has another one before... can't remember the name...
If I'm not wrong is an unreleased track "the song of the boat man" on the Hibernaculum single (1994)
Or an instrumental version from a song from the album Man on the Rocks?
