    I feel like on some degree, so many successful youtubers avoid personal questions because if they actually went in maskless, they'd realise just how chaotic and unreliable their career is. This felt like so many other Dr K interviews. Dr Mike is one of the first ones that came to mind.

    • @newuser689
      @newuser689 2 года назад +4

      i think I disagree with Dr Mike's. He seemed to be genuine in his interview but it took a turn into explaining/debating the nature of enlightenment. I kinda wish Dr K went more into his process and how he got into mind body medicine specifically because that's what seemed to interest him the most at the beginning of the interview.

    This interview reminds of the Dr.Mike interview as i feel like we weren’t getting the actual personalities/feelings. Dr.Mike seemed to operate by avoidance of personal questions making it difficult to get to understand him on a personal level. BB, Although answered the questions, didn’t come across as genuine answers, something about the way he presents himself felt like he is putting up a different face. Not to say it is on purpose, a lot of people wear a different face without realizing it as a lot of people lie to themselves to justify certain aspects of their life.
    Regardless, Dr.K did great at working with what he was given and even pushing further questioning. It was just unfortunate that BB didn’t seem to truly open up during the interview. (Or at least that’s what it felt like to me personally).

      Dude I'm so surprised there is not a lot of people talking about this in the comments. I listened to the whole thing and this guy is soooo fake. I don't know who he is but he just spits out the most generic answers you hear everywhere and it came across so contradicting. I think he had very little self awareness and a way bigger image of himself. He literally says how he never stops and works so hard non stop and he needs a break from work then follows it up by saying he had to stop partying and started taking coffee at 3 in the morning to do the EP. He is so full of contradictions and BS I'm surprised dr K wasn't calling him on it

    I wish there was more in the interview that addressed the videos title, but it was really cool that the team managed to get a musician and I hope there can be more interviews like this!
    I watched the whole thing, what Dr K said at 59:30 really stood out to me as I was kinda hoping for more concrete advice or something to relate to I guess? It seems like the takeaway here is just the fairly common, grind as much as you can and it's just luck but bbno$ didn't really go too much into detail about the challenges it takes to keep grinding, do 10k+ hours of music, and the uncertainty of whether or not people will like it. I'm guessing he talked a lot since musicians do a lot of interviews where the point is to talk and he didn't want to come across as ungrateful as someone who's gotten so much success, hence the (artificial?) positivity.

    • @KaneWrestlingFan999
      @KaneWrestlingFan999 2 года назад +11

      Yeah that's my belief too of him not wanting to come across as an ingrate, but as you basically said it unfortunately made this interview less interesting and relatable than it could've been had he delved deeper into the universal struggles people have regardless of success that he surely also has. Like him talking about the annoyances of life on the road when Dr.K asked about any darkness (or to that effect cause I'm paraphrasing) that he draws from was the most superficial answer ever, lol. He seems like a nice guy though and I do wish him well.

Also his comments of entheogens is interesting: psychedelic's are tricky, even when done infrequently, as opposed to rarely, and can warp ones perception of goals, while also instilling a renewed sense of self and connection. Therefore, despite feeling happy and resilient, it can act as a crutch when one is lost in life, listlessly searching for purpose. like bbno$ said, the reset button is always there when he needs it. until it isn't.

I think for the sake of maintaining something you enjoy it's best to avoid depending on it for your income. Interesting interview. I would definitely be into an interview with someone who is, perhaps more of a musician than what gets the limelight. Although understandable that it would probably not be a great fit for this show, it just seems as though deeply passionate and connected musicianship is almost completely absent from most parts of the industry. People gripping real instruments and using their bodies to actively create in real time, whether through improvisation or otherwise. Rhythm, chord, and melody. There really is something special about it. I fully respect what this guy does, though, and am honestly becoming a fan lol.

      Not because im interested in doing an interview or anything but i just relate to your comment. Im a musician who's, i guess, kind of like what you describe: just someone who is very passionate about playing their instrument. Ive never really found a career path because i'm not very outgoing and social and just want to play guitar. Also my mental health has held me back a lot from finding my way in the industry, as it takes so much energy and willpower, firslty to even learn to play, and secondly to find a career. The world is terrifying to me as i never felt like i have a place in it. I know it's my purpose in life to be a musician but i doubt i'll ever see any kind of career from it unfortunately.

      @@menamgamg man I'm very much the same. I've been making music since 2016. I started making beats and trying to sell them online and I kind of started to get a momentum for it. When I got in to university in 2019 for engineering I realized that I just wanted to make music. I felt very alienated there and I knew my inner creativity and imagination is the biggest gift I was given. I dropped out in 2020 and switched from making beats to learning guitar and just focusing on music that is really in harmony with my imagination (I was also starting to hate the "beat making" business so I gave that up too).
      Right now I'm at a point in my life that I'm considering to going back to school for something else than music. like...... this music thing doesn't seem to work for me and I feel like It's kind of better to stop trying before I turn in to a resentful person that some "failed" musicians seem to be. Making music and art will always be something that I will do but it seems that this existential crisis that I've had over 2 years and me forcefully trying to build a career out of music has eaten everything else from my life. There isn't much of a life for me to attend to outside creating music. I'm a little worried if I'm ever going to be able to surrender this anger filled drive to create a career from this. It has nothing to do with the joy of creating and I wish to let it go.

    • @menamgamg
      @menamgamg 2 года назад +4

      @@maneasd4600 I think for me, i've been playing since i was 15 (now 30) and at this point i'm way past feeling like i have to make something out of it to prove myself. I had a lot of struggles with that earlier in my life though and in my teenage years i was obsessed and played 8h minimum a day because my mind was set on having a career in music and i was going to get there through working extremely hard, and i did until eventually my mind just broke down from the pressure. What i've realized was that it's just not about your skills as a musician, it's equally about getting out in the world and putting yourself out there, and doing it in a healthy way. Isolating myself and sitting in my room playing to only myself every day, was not the answer because that's not developing crucial skills that work in the real world.
      Ive had years of depression and distancing myself from music in long periods. I've only recently come back to it with passion again, and im learning to play music only because i love it and without the expectation of results. I think that is the only healthy way to do it unless youre lucky enough to have a personality that fits well into what's generally expected in of you in the music industry.
      So my advice would be to never give up, but to try to find what it is within you that won't let you just enjoy making music, and work on that.

      @@menamgamg thanks, that just made me smile especially that last tip. I do have an inner dilemma in me and the drive to make a career from music has been like a furious scream towards that it.
      Really really appreciate the answer because that's something I've already started to truly understand but the mind has always found a way to sabotage. It's really some ugly and scary stuff underneath my own depression that needs my attention. Always so tempting to dedicate my whole life to music so I wouldnt have to deal with my shit.
      I'm glad you found a way back to your passion with joy this time!

      It is probably great to get the attention from fans the issue is fans wanting it back. The imbalance of 1000 people messaging your a day and you cant respond to everyone but want to is what causes probably causes stress to a lot of streamers. If you send a message just go in thinking they won't see it, but if they do it will hopefully perk them up.

    Maybe Alex seems to be talking more than others is bc he doesn’t get to always have the chance to get these things off his chest. It seems a bit unorganized, Dr. K does wonders with the interview by bringing him back in and make Alex question some things he says. But I love bbn$’ music, and he really does seem like a good person. It doesn’t look it on the surface that there was “progress “ but even getting the chance to hear Alex speak in a different environment is a good perspective.
