I've been an attack speed Goodra believer from the start!
Fun fact: Goodra has higher Atk stat than SpAtk until level 11. It's like a hybrid atk/spAtk pokemon. It's boosted attacks apply gooey and have cdr for all your moves. I do think this is probably the optimal build. But it kinda changes from a defender to more of a all rounder....

seems all sp. atk defenders have higher attack until around lv. 9 (lapras) to 11 (blastoise)
Goodra feels more of an all-rounder than a defender with any build...
@@l3o213 yeh. It just doesn’t have enough bulk or control to do what mamo or slowbro does. Muddy water has potential- if they buffed it and gave it healing too…
This is exactly what I was saying way back when Goodra release, the mon is balanced so now we need to find a proper build to make everything come together, now let's see those results.
i would argue it's actually not good atm, it has a lot of good moves a bit of bulk and the slow as good points but its just outclassed so bad by other defenders (Lapras, Slowbro), the value it brings to the match compared to them is abismal, i love its kit but kinda under balanced in this meta for my liking
@@RIZOFRED there is no argument to be had, nobody claims Goodra is s tier, just because Urshifu is A tier that doesn't make Lucario C tier, Goodra is starting to be figured out, Slowbro and Trevenant are crazy good, Goodra is just barely being considered now.
What are the held items that you guys are using
as an aspiring goodra enjoyer, I’ve always enjoyed a muscle band on the build. Muscle, spoon and buddy barrier has been my pick for goodra since day one!
I’m pretty sure those were the exact held items I used when Goodra first came out except I used Muddy Water/ Acid Spray and it was really fun!
Jake just tried your build with focus band instead of spoon and my score was :

For real. I just played a game as trevanent the highest level, (not jungle obviously), dealt the most damage with a espeon on my team, and had a clefable player score 20 points over my 50. Great game but tough to stay positive and keep playing.
I have a different take. The recent state of the game, with Urshifu, Zacian, Comfey, Rayquaza being like their current selves for as long as they have, shows that this game doesn't give two hoots about user feedback and thus, doesn't deserve to be played. There is no semblance of balance.
@shubhamjohri9231 you're definitely not wrong.. I've snapped so many times in this dang game, be it the broken pokemon, lack of fixes, worst teammates/matchmaking you could imagine... I sometimes have more fun watching Spragels and others do their thing, rather than playing myself. But the good matches just hit! I have a positive win rate and probably only have fun 30% of the time 😅 the game deserves as much time as you're willing to give it I guess... just DONT give it your money haha. Good luck though... we all need it
I made a set for Defenders that involve 7 pink Emblems, and It's actually really good even tho it has -147 speed, but it's really good for Body blocking attacks

Been playing around with Goodra a bit as well and I really like running with move speed boost emblems with attack speed items and a float stone, put on an x speed too and there’s almost nothing that can escape
Slick spoon is great, but wise glasses may be better, since goodra has a high spatk, and dragon pulse scales better with spatk bonuses than damage. That all said, love the build! People are finally realizing how complex goodra is as a defender, and I’m loving it!

@@boomzapkablam1138 wise glasses gives a direct spatk percentage boost. Since goodra actually has a lot of spatk already, specs isn't as useful. Slick spoon is still good however, since it also gives the hp boost
People are always quick to say things about characters, I always felt Goodra was very good. There are many builds and emblem sets to test with the characters to see which is the best and some, obscure. Trail and error.
I typically swap between muddy and pulse, and even whip and acid just depending on what I think I need to be more effective
Excited to try this. I have had no issue with the last build you made. I went 6/1 and 7/1 on two different occasions in ranked with it. I will definitely try this.
I love this Goodra build! His survivability is much lower, but you get better value from him with this build I feel than the double stacking build which is what I've been running. Just the versatility you can use Goodra effectively is awesome! Goodra main since day 1 and love playing him!
one thing ive noticed is that youre extremely reserved to using dragon pulse. Personally i prefer acid spray for its guaranteed cc without needing to position, plus the guaranteed cc allows for dragon pulse to heal when used immediately after
Honestly I think i like my cookie and specs for the survivability and good amount of healing but interesting build either way!

I think the Atk Spd boost is useful but I've struggled more using the build than my tried and true Muddy Whip using Focus, Slick, Cookie using 6 Green/White but I do just enjoy seeing new options for pokemon that can give us new ways to play.
Muddy Water, into Gengar is so good too, especially if you have at least one stack of MW going
And if you dodge Shadow Ball then you can win that 1v1

Attack speed does so much for Goodra between spreading goo, DPD & CD. I don't think I'll go full attack speed but I am going be adding a muscle band on my build thx to your video. Comparing attack speeds to other pokemon and goodra is most similar to Dragonite.
Gonna need to try this build seems fun.
Also love seeing Jake and Comfy basically solo the enemy team while yours did little more than watch at the end lol.
I've been hopping between the tank build and the atk spd build. Though I didn't run the scarf, I'll give that a shot!

Cool build! Gotta try it out sometime! Though I'm still waiting for some tweaks to it, like the passive. Considering Cookie instead of Spoon/Focus. Btw, Comfey+Goodra is such a cool combo. Mark my words, it'll be a future meta 😅
Jake have you tried rocky helmet spoon focus band with muddy water and power whip my emblems I got 5 green 6 pink 4 purple and I’ve been using full heal or x attack it’s a real tanky build but your damage is consistent. From what I’ve learned with goodra that it’s going to take a lot of damage you have to find a way to reverse that damage back muddy water helps debuff them so you can limit there damage power whip gives you additional sp attack I’m just saying if you haven’t used it yet it should help.
I actually had attack speed on goodra too, because I can normal attack fast and say goodbye to the cooldowns
I wish goodra was a physical attacker or even if unite made attack speed items that benefit sp attackers better

I like using my highest sp. Att emblems, choice specs, silver spoon and wise glasses and x speed for escapes. I like luring fights to the grass and then turning it. Crazy sustain.
Zacian isn't as easy as many let on :P
We'll likely have another Mew situation where it gets balanced out but few use it because of how many mechanics they have to optimize to do well.
Can I use this build for Aurora Veil A9?
lmao it took all 5 enemies top lane to take me out as i was standing on the goal, 4 couldn't kill me till the last one arrived, but because it took all five of them at the top to end me they lost the Rayquaza.
Wouldn't it be best to get max red/white? I think it is possible, but I'm not sure.

Dude went from a few thousands over a year ago to over a 100k. I quit unite 5 months ago due to the same old same old rinse and repeat meta as well as the abysmal matchmaking but I still watch your video xD.

White green cookie specs x speed focus is the best build for Goodra
That first game wasn’t that good but the only thing I say is I like acid spay with dragon pulse since it slows Pokémon you target and close to them as well

Very true about zacian. I unlocked zacian so early on but never got comfortable with it I just died constantly. So I just went espeon.

What r your thoughts on eject button goodra. U can combo it with eject dragon pulse. Even though u have a pull I found it usefull. It works better with muddy water though.
Those minuses to defense and special defense make my special tank Goodra cry. That said, it looks like it's worth a try.

You found my build, though I believe I have Cookie instead of spoon currently
It feels so criminal to get back your moves as quick as you do
And then with the hp damage if your close ranged boosteds, plus the added benefits of Muscle Band... You some insane amount of damage.
I like Acid Spray, as it accumulatively does more damage if you hit both times
And it's like they can't get away once the combo beings. They get gooed. And your CD are almost none existent
You can sustain using your passive if you ain't using Dragon Pulse... But you'd have to choose and take your brawls wisely
Do you think a sylveon should be center? And they stay center the whole game? I feel like Eveee is good at going on path sense they level up fast and don’t need it. I’m a espeon main and always crush lanes and help secure way more
My friend normally runs center with sylveon and a fluffy tail so is it worth it?

Sylveon is a Pokémon that normally runs lane but it can be a fine jungler
It would be better to run something else in centre. Sylveon is not in a really that much good spot right now. Sylveon only needs level 4 which it can get easily in lane. Well... There is a special tactic of Jungle sharing in which sylveon take first jungle and then other mon do jungle. If you can do that then it might work but giving sylve jungle for whole time is kind of waste of potential. Like a Greninja or deci will do so much better in it.
Also playstyle of Sylve and Espeon are different. Espeon is best in lane. It can get levels easily and bully others. Sylve is one of the worst early game mon in lane as it doesn't have secure moves.
Is Power Whip way to go?
I use mostly Muddy Water (mobile pokemon are nightmare to hit with Dragon Pulse), but as second move I always pick Acid Spray. I love the mobility, and its still give CC.
i really like my hp emblem with cookie set build its tanky and unkillable, very fun to play.
i'm willing to try the rapit fire scarf
Now now i play Drain Kiss Clefable at 1.6k Masters and absolutely dominate since i do around 2k damage after lv 12 -13 when i have fully stacked

Dragon pulse still bug if you auto attack or move during dragon pulse it missing one tick of dmg/heal

Just me or goorda needs to get buffed like i dont know what kind of buff but i think it needs one maybe more damage like i love my gooey boy its my second favorite pokemon while sylveon being the first i was just expecting more with him. Like when he released he was really good but then after everyone else got buffed and it made him weaker so less people pick him but yeah i would honestly say power wise he need some sort of buff or his moves some things to be buffed but speed, defense and hp are great for him

As a clefable main you only play drain if you wanna troll . But time to time I’ll accidentally pick it instead of moonlight and I always immediately get in voice chat and apologize for the liability I will be for the remainder of the game lmao

spraglito, i play a lot of goodra i'm on the same build .instead of spoon maby try shell bell OR Drain crown( actually i'm using drain,shell,rapid)
Does goodra deal enough damage to make use of drain crown? Last I checked it was a mediocre item that was pretty niche even on damage heavy mons that could deal enough damage to active the healing like Dura and chomp.
@@sunlizard9593 nah drain is useless. If you want to heal then go for band. It would heal more throughout the match and make it more tanky in general. If you want cooldown reduction build then scarf/shell bell/energy with black emblems. For damage just go glasses/muscle or any damaging item that you think fits.
