Man, this guy just gets it. I’ve been binging a ton of these videos and this guy is just to the point, effective and relatable. Hands down this channel has been (for me) the best tool I’ve come across.
I’m currently going through the worst time of my life. And I’m planning to start my PW company very soon. I’ve spend 12 years in the fine dining restaurant industry as a server And it’s time for a change. I appreciate you sir. I’ll forever be thankful for all the knowledge you share. Thank you.
Just subbed you.... GOYA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going around shaking hands all the time.. passing out 150 business cards a week at the least. Sometimes it pays off two or three years later..it's all about building up your number of contacts you get in front of !!!!!!!!!!!! We also use a business card holder for all our networkers...we love referring other contractors,it can set you apart from the pack and make your clients have a better experience. Can't wait to see your after video of both buildings
My goodness, Man, that is so similar to what happened with us! End of last year, we submitted a bid for a whole hospital and didn't hear anything back at all. Well, low and behold, it got approved and we're meeting on Tuesday to confirm the time line!! So, here we go, our single largest job to date! Super excited for you, Man! You should offer to seal the flat work afterward! It's a great add on! I'd love to connect with you and talk further! Let me know! 👍 Major congrats!
Ray, here's an advertising idea for you and everyone else starting off: before getting flyers made, volunteer! Find the "busiest" intersection downtown; get a permit and set up. The thousands of motorists waiting for their light to roll over will be watching you work as you clean the medians, signs and sidewalks. Most importantly, you can park your vehicle anywhere around that intersection and the police can't interfere unless you're blocking traffic. They'll all believe you landed a giant contract with the city, right? I'd get someone to answer the calls for you that day, just incase. I can't think of a better way to advertise. That has to be a thousand people every hour who have their phone with them for a snapshot of your advertising information. I think I'm right.
That's an idea that can get you into trouble too though. If people believe you are working for the city then that can open both you and the city up to liability. Cleaning something without permission can also cause damage which you can be liable for. We had a homeowner try to remove graffiti off of a stop sign. The chemical they used destroyed the reflective overlay which meant we now had to go out and replace the sign. An 18" stop sign is about $100 plus the labor to install it. That homeowner ended up getting a bill from the city for almost $500 (fortunately the vandals were caught and they were the ones that had to pay and not the homeowner).
Ray you need to figure in a 60 or 85 foot lift. Anything taking over a week rent for a month and move to another job for moving fee. You can get it clean and mudd daubers take seconds. Time is money. Lifts save time. Way less chemicals too. You need to consider landscaping. Bleach and soap up and rinse down. Clean it at night! It's empty and you avoid alkaline shock on walls and widows. If daytime you need to cool down walls and windows with water before applying chemicals. Do nights and weekends. Tip on mudd daubers. Wet them first knock them off with pressure then shoot straight beach on stain and scrub with medium brush. Rinse. Stain will go away completely.
hi from sydney australia , great vids man . we get on average , 10 or 12 calls per 1000 flyers , out of that we convert 3 jobs . it costs me $100 to get 1000 flyers delivered .
Did you hear back from the PM? Also, you stated you didn't like doing windows. Are you going to use a water-fed pole for all the windows and squeegees / ladders for the lowers? (I personally hate window cleaning and was wondering would outsourcing the windows be acceptable in a job like this or maybe lose you the contract? Are you thinking of using / renting a boom lift to speed up the higher portions? Loving the vids btw! Subbed and liked!
Man im not trying to bother you but i keep coming up with questions hah...@16:48 you talk about numbers and the "model" you are running. Can you elaborate on that. Are you talking about company profits? How do you pay yourself? I saw something about the profit 1st strategy, I like that a lot but not sure what % to go to company profits.
Damn your right in my area man. Sweet. I dabble with soft washing on the side of my lawn business. I am always at homes mowing all 4 sides so I can offer quick one side cleanings when i am there to mow as well. You have instagram or meet people in area?
Aaron.. I subbed.. Hey. Will you do a follow up.. Videos. .like setup video.. Actual process.. I am in California. And we have a few buildings that size. ..it would be good to know. .. How to do that and the equipment OK.. Thanks
Don't know if this would apply to your business, but there's a free crm called Yardbooks. It's focused on lawn maintenance. But i think it'd be a good free program for people to start with.
I work for the county road dept, if you are using signs to advertise you need to check with your municipality. In the county that I work, it is illegal to place signs in the right of way (good rule of thumb is the area between the road and the utility poles). It's also illegal to place signs on utility poles. I yank signs everyday and we don't return them. They go straight to the dump. As you mentioned, signs can get expensive. Not only is it a waste of money, but probably looks pretty bad when people see the county out removing your signs. We issue fines to real bad offenders and the fines can be up to $10,000 or a year in jail. A simple phone call can save you a bunch of time and money. Make sure you know where the rules in your area.
Great videos and explanation as your roll through your day/jobs. You mentioned insurance towards the end of this video. Obviously we all know that we need insurance for our businesses but in your experience what business insurance coverage would you recommend having as a minimum for a pressure washing business that handles residential as well as commercial properties. Also for bidding purposes, do you have a program that you run independent of your CRM that auto generates pricing based on predetermined price points( that you have established) for square footage/linear footage etc? If so, what is it. If not, do you just compute raw bids each quote?
Isn't there an app to snap a pic of the business card and store them on your phone? I have never seen or used one but there must be one. Is there a reason you would keep the actual card? Great Vid!
Great videos man! I’m not in the house washing business....yet , but a lot of your info I can use for my small business. I’m looking into CRM software. Any info or suggestions?
Totally unrelated but it looks like youre driving a right hand drive truck. Is that truck right hand drive or is it something to do with your camera or am I just tripping?
Man, awsome tips & great video, but, were you just sharing some knowledge while driving with your hands off the steering wheel😂? I find your content & journey motivating, Thanks.
Late response, but no, he is saying he would include it in the original bid but if they came back and said it’s to high then he would throw the fountain in for free to entice them a bit
That looked like 5 story's id get the perimiter sq ft and I do it like this .28 cents a sq ft that's the first 2 story's then an additional .28 cents per extra story..plus $500 dollars rental equipment... Lets say its 10,000 sq ft @ 5 stories Id go 10,000 × .28 cents. = 2 stories Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 3rd story Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 4th story Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 5th story Then add the cost to do the windows Add the cost to do the side walks And cost to rent the cherry picker/ bucket truck...that should give you a good price to charge Rule of thumb if we were charging commercial services the price per sq ft would decrease. Two storys .28 cents One story. .18 cents Commerical. ..08. Cents I call it the tripple 8 bidding strategy works every Time
Hey Ray tell me what you think of my " tripple 8 threat " biding strategy...things are subject to change including upscaled .08 sq ft = commercial .18 sq ft = one story residential .28 sq ft = two story residential Note.. Perimiter Sq ft of building is the roof price and same price for house washing two story..half the price for house washing if one story...same strategy for Surface Cleaning..doubles with adding sealing

This is awesome brother! Always grinding so I feel you
Ray your channel helps so much. I learn something new almost daily. Great tips and advice. I learned of you through forever self employed.
Great content man, really enjoy your videos! Just starting off myself and you’ve been extremely helpful.

It’s a bad idea. You would have to do a complete job or look like a fraud. Plus a ton of hoops on “public” property to just do it for free.
I'm loving this content!!!!
We are a landscaping co. thats adding pressure washing next year and these videos are awesome. Thanks
Very cool good luck on your addition
That’s an awesome accomplishment man... proud for ya.

Would you use something like Ceansol BC for this sort of job?
No I'd use good ol SH

Yes I utilize a WFP and do the windows. You could sub out if the PM is ok with it and yes this is with a boom lift rental. Thanks bro!
What kind of tablet do you have? Is it linked to your home PC and cell phone?
Man im not trying to bother you but i keep coming up with questions hah...@16:48 you talk about numbers and the "model" you are running. Can you elaborate on that. How do you manage or track your ROI on signs and fliers.

“Trying not to show the name, cuz I know a couple of people that are sneaky” 🤣
Did you end up getting this job and how much did you charge them or how much would you charge them
I missed it. Did you say what the quote was?
Don't know if this would apply to your business, but there's a free crm called Yardbooks. It's focused on lawn maintenance. But i think it'd be a good free program for people to start with.
Thank you Raymond! I am learning a lot from your videos! One question .. Do you have a webpage where I can get yard signs? TIA!
Great stuff. Thanks

What estimate soft ware or program you use?
How long would it take for you to clean the whole walkway around the building?
Hey Jenny. I estimated 5 hours for all the flat work. Just that walkway would take 2 hours or so.
Isn't there an app to snap a pic of the business card and store them on your phone? I have never seen or used one but there must be one. Is there a reason you would keep the actual card? Great Vid!
There probably is and I should probably get it because I'm running out of room in my book lol

Thank you! Reading, youtube and trial and error
I also had a pressure washing business when I was 17 and knew a little about roof and house washing.
Do you use a lift on a job like this?
Yes absolutely, they are usually around $600-$800 a day.
@@RaymondNotario how many days for that job? And price range. I just bid a huge courthouse, thinking I over bid it
so you would charge for the fountain but not do it and not tell them unless they said you're price seemed a little high?
Late response, but no, he is saying he would include it in the original bid but if they came back and said it’s to high then he would throw the fountain in for free to entice them a bit

Lets say its 10,000 sq ft @ 5 stories
Id go
10,000 × .28 cents. = 2 stories
Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 3rd story
Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 4th story
Plus 10,000 × .28 cents = 5th story
Then add the cost to do the windows
Add the cost to do the side walks
And cost to rent the cherry picker/ bucket truck...that should give you a good price to charge
Rule of thumb if we were charging commercial services the price per sq ft would decrease.
Two storys .28 cents
One story. .18 cents
Commerical. ..08. Cents
I call it the tripple 8 bidding strategy works every Time
Nice to know I'll keep this strategy in mine very helpful!
Is that two story and one story pricing for residential and then the commercial pricing is all businesses?
Did you get the job?

Hey Ray tell me what you think of my " tripple 8 threat " biding strategy...things are subject to change including upscaled
.08 sq ft = commercial
.18 sq ft = one story residential
.28 sq ft = two story residential
Note.. Perimiter Sq ft of building is the roof price and same price for house washing two story..half the price for house washing if one story...same strategy for Surface Cleaning..doubles with adding sealing
