There will never be another player like LeTisser, as a Tottenham fan I wish he had come to Spurs when he had the chance but I respect the man for staying with Southampton the club he loved and who loved him.
Peter Leschinski , Being a Saints fan since 1975, and being at Wembley 1st of May 1976, I totally agree with your comment, in those days you played for the shirt you put on your backs, not for the cheque at the end of the week. Good luck with your new ground. PS make sure there are no London football club shirts buried in the stands. David
The script was written when he came on as a sub to score to win the game and to have the last goal at the Dell. Been injured most of the season but credit to the manager to put him on. He deserved it as a loyal player to the club and who had done so much for it. And thus it became stuff of legend. One of the few players that could use both feet and typically a great spectacular goal with one of his first touches. Boys own stuff. Tears everywhere. A players whose style is so sorely missed in the PL nowadays.
i remember being there that day, the atmosphere was like nothing i've ever experienced before, it still beats the johnstone paint and fa cup final for atmosphere, and the crowd reaction when le tissier scored was unbelievable!
As previously mentioned by 2010GermanFootball Matt Le Tissier was truly an outstanding player he was pure class and a genius who used his head to create intelligent movements and of course he was a passionate player for his club! And mine! He should have played more for England but his injuries were a major problem. He was as someone else mentioned a loyal player he was there through many years!
He says he wants to finish his career at Saints, but I think he thought things would be different, that he would slowly fade away as we went to the prem and he would just be an occasional sub. As it is however I can't see him being out of favour at all in the premier league and he might even be signed with another club, hope not though.
Lifted The Roof??? The Dell was always completely lifeless. The Dell was always a dead ground. It didn’t even have a designated Away End it use to change every season.
if you all hate scummers clap ur hands if u all hate scummers clap ur hands if u all hate scummers all hate scummers all hate scummers clap ur hands PUP
The roar of approval when Le Tissier was brought on is highly fitting.

@msec Ses and Le Tisser wasn't one of them. That's why he's such a unique legend to English football.
@msec Ses I doubt he got megabucks for playing for Southampton. He had something that's lacking in todays game, loyalty.
Why he would bother with Spurs if AC Milan and Man United wanted him...
What a way to say goodbye to The Dell ! Absolute LEGEND LE TISSIER IS GOD !!!! X x x

Goosebumps when le tissier scored last ever league goal at the dell with a minute to go 😁
a fairy tale ending for one of the greatest players ever to grace the premier league
Was then, is now and always will be a hero to us fans of the mighty Saints!

Have a word with yourself, pal. Absolutely cringeworthy comment. You're an embarrassment.
Clearly a skate pompey prick coming up with bullshit as usual. The Dell one of the most iconic and intimidating grounds in the UK
The Dell had an epic atmosphere you melt, give your head a wobble
