He put so much hip into the turn that he couldn't get his right leg out of the way fast enough so it was loaded too much. Because that ski is closer to the slope and where his weight is, it can easily hook. The focus needed to be on what his Left ski needed to get him around the turn. The control from the left to right ski was like a lightning bolt with no time to correct it. Anyway, my comment was a generalization of making a turn, not so much what he did here. The engineering and dynamics of racing turns has slightly different rules and requirements than a recreational skier's carved turns. Not much, but a little. Meaning you can get away with some things but not others in both. Giving the turning ski what it needs Does apply to both.

From my time ski racing down slalom courses, i'd say they hit a divot in the ice and it made them wipe . (Im not a pro in any way, shape or form, but hitting them and being sent flying has happend to me on multiple occasions 😂)

As a racer in both Nordic & Alpine, you need far better cardio, endurance & a super high pain threshold plus a big heart for Nordic. try a mass start (70ish racers) 50 km long race at -10 on an icy track, lots of hills & sharp corners. not for bowlers or couch potatoes. Alpine is fast, short courses & requires strength, quick reactions & big balls. Both elite sports. What's your game?

It's called ski flying. It's not funny, it's a really serious sport. Many, many people have gotten majorly injured. One crash, by a man named Valery Kobelev, put the man into a come for months. Ski flying is NOT funny.
