I just wrote a comment about that. Yup it's classic Bette. These lines uttered by anyone else would be stupid or banal, but from Bette Davis they're loaded with brilliance and je ne sais quoi.
I loved Bette Davis. I wonder how old she was in the Gun smoke episode. She was still very pretty in that show. Has anyone seen her in the 4 episodes of Perry Mason when he had surgery? She was wonderful!! It's something that stars don't feel slighted when they are asked to do a TV role.
58, this episode was in 1966, Miss Bette Davis was born in 1908. Class act, love her!!!!!! If there was a fight btwn her and Joan Crawford, my money would be on Miss Bette!!!!❤
@MillaHead I guess your statement comes from a computer head that rely on buffers to get the message across. BAck in the day-there were excellent writers. Sorry to say that is not the situation where so called writers of today need to rip off other past writers ideas to produce anything. By the way the camera angle of Bette Davis was perfect!
My favorite episode of Gunsmoke
A giant of a woman, Miss Davis is by far the most dramatic actress of her time. What a legacy she left for us to experience.
For a tiny woman, she was a giant!!!❤
One of the greatest movie actors with one of the greatest TV actors!
Even near the end of her career, when she was doing guest spots on TV, Bette Davis was still badass.
Mrs. Davis totally outdid herself with this part. Awesome acting. VERY convincing performance as a psycho sinister bent on vengeance.
Put her in a CAGE! Classic Bette!

...back and forth..back and forth
She has Bette Davis eyes.

Love is deaf dumb and blind !!!

Amazing!
@MillaHead It might be the strange tan, but I think she looks really pretty here.
Matt's not the Dodge City sheriff - he's a US Marshal who happened to be headquartered in Dodge.
hollywood don't have actors like this anymore
They sure don't. And sorry to say it's not going to get better in our lifetime.
the character is named Matt dillon
Ya get a taste of what sufferin' is really like!

TV writing is too fucking direct. And they photographed her wrong way!
