Yeah, I like it so far. For sure you can see the quality is better in the details than my previous (Academy purchased) tent. Of course, I paid twice the price that I paid for my previous tent AND that was at steal of a price (it normally cost 4xs as much as my previous tent).
It’s a bonus any time the tent fits back into the bag without anything sticking out or material and zipper ripping. Nice job. You can probably get it down to 10 minutes after another few tries.
No kidding! My last tent I couldn't put the bag for the poles back in from the first time out of the bag AND it was so tight I had to fight with the zipper that I am SURE would eventually have broken (however, two pole broke before so it was just time to retire it....)
REI gear is generally made to be used, and it shows when you go to stow it back. You're right, it generally Does fit back in with little difficulty. I'm kinda surprised a tent that size didn't come with internal features, like a boot nook (for muddy footwear so you don't track it in on the floor) or gear pockets/loft. Still, given that it's REI, that tent will likely last you a few decades.
It does have 4 pockets (2 on each side of the door) as well as 5 hook locations (1 top center and 1 in each corner). I used the top one to film the overhead puppy attack shot, but didn't notice any of these other things until after filming. I'll likely include this a RUclips Shorts update at some point ;)
