Harlow is so smart getting up on the other side of the bed. Since you are already in pain she do not want to aggregate you more by jumping on you. smart loving pup. She know not to leave you behind on the stairs. She wants to keep you safe.
Aww. Harlow's so adorable. You can't get angry with her. She has such a sweet look on her face as if to say "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do anything bad." Feel better soon Jaquie. I'm looking forward to seeing your house!
I just told my mom last night that when I'm having a really bad health day my furbaby, Neri, is the only thing that can make me laugh and smile. Everyone needs a Golden in their life, they are the most goofy breed ever. Hope you're feeling better soon. 💕
I totally get Harlow's hoarding your stuff. It's a comfort thing! These things smell like you and Judd; reminds her of you both. So she just wants to snuggle up with things that remind her of mommy and daddy. The two she loves most in the world...
Sarah Stuart very true. Some dogs are very in tune with our pain and bad days and try to treat us gently. Although there are the exceptions where mine has walked over me like a door mat on a bad pain day, but generally she treats me well 😂
My puppers bring me their favorite toys or “babies” when I don’t feel well. They also cuddle super close and let everyone in the house know I’m not feeling well. I hope you’re feeling better today!
I don’t think Harlow’s choice of where she hops on to the bed is a quirk. I think it’s cuz she knows where your side of the bed is, & she knows u’r not feeling well/in pain, & she is cognizant of that and doesn’t want to startle you or cause additional pain
@@lynnrenee8369 i wonder if it's a service dog thing, because my moms friends pet when I was with my friend, their dog had hurt me and I had a gash, got into my moms friends car and the dog jumped on my lap, DUG HER NAIL IN THE CUT (i had pants) before putting her jaw on my leg trying to play, cause yeah and my moms friends dog is a pet, so it has to be cause yalls are trained
You're not the only one with hard day. My serious depression has flared up for a few days now and I had to push myself to get my normal stuff done. But I did it while watching you working hard as well. Let's keep fighting and moving forward!
Positive upbeat music and holding positive power positions can make us more positive along with walking outside, exercise, and laughing, dark chocolate does not hurt either, blessings.
it's incredible seeing how you have progressed these last months. I remember binge watching some of your old videos and when you had a flare you wouldn't be able to get up the stairs but now even tho you're in the flare you can still get up and function so much better. So happy and proud of the progress you're making. Wish you, Harlow and Judd all the best from the UK

Melanie McAulay that’s what I suspect too. My thinking is...she’s trained to keep her eyes on Jac and that’s hard to do if she’s in front of Jac, climbing stairs. So she goes up backwards to keep a eye on her human mom.

Hi Jacquie, I found your channel through Dodo after they featured the video of Harlow adorably bringing you some ranch instead of the water! And I’m so glad I found your channel. As someone with chronic pain and autoimmune conditions, it’s positive to see you putting content about your health and disability out there. Harlow is definitely a character and seems to like making you smile on the most painful days. I have a dog (not a service dog) and she’s very much the same way, she’s never brought me ranch or chocolate sauce, although I wouldn’t complain if she wants to bring me some chocolate sauce! She manages to do silly things and gets a smile out of me even on the most painful of days! My dog used to hoard her toys and anything else she fancied in her safe place, it turned out she was exhibiting nesting behaviour. It was very sweet to see her saving all her best toys because she wanted puppies, but eventually she began getting depressed once every six months because of her maternal longings. Having her spayed helped her massively. But it’s sweet to see Harlow doing a similar thing, especially if it is a personality quirk as opposed to nesting. I’m pretty such it’s personality, unless she thinks her puppies could use a bed remote 😂 I’ve subscribed and will definitely visit often to talk all things health, disability, and dogs! Sending love and strength!
I needed this. Such a silly girl! My dog likes to drag blankets around and steals socks so you can never find them anywhere. I hope you feel better soon!!
My daughter's service dog is very careful with her toys but a dog is a dog and sometimes they don't quite stand up to the love. As a puppy when she had a favor one that got a hole in the seam and she mourned for two days after we threw it out and we finally had to buy a replacement I decided fixing small holes would be cheaper so as they developed my daughter would tell her that the toy had an "owie" amd to take it to mom. I would then just sew up the hole (on the spot usually as who can deny the puppy with the sad look holding a damaged toy she loves). It did not take long for her to learn that if a toy 'broke' she needed to take it too mom. This started to include busted squeakers but I found you can order replacements on Amazon so that solved that one. We had to then train her to have expectation about how and when repairs got done when she proceeded to wake me up at 3AM one morning and I was thinking she was telling me that Shelby needed me - who I then woke up to find out what was wrong and who grumply pointed out that she was holding a toy with a leg missing so I took it from her and put it on the dresser thinking I could fix it in a few hours only to have her immediately return with the missing leg and a mouthful of stuffing and sit there staring at me oblivious to the time and obviously expecting a repair. So we had to teach her to put damaged toys she wanted fixed in a special box and then I would fix them as soon as I could - and not at 3 AM :) I did, however get a bit behind this past month as we had a overload of dr and pt appointments and speech therapy was still going on. Its not like she does not have 3 toy boxes and so a few toys in the 'broken' box does not mean that she has nothing to play with but it is true that the broken box does tend to have more favorite toys as they get a bit tougher love then others at any given time. So the box had a few things in it and I guess there were a couple that she has been missing and was tired of waiting on as we woke up the other day to find the 'broken' toy box moved from where her toys are usually kept right out into the main traffic path right in front of the area where we have all the medical supplies and where we do all her IV prep and medications and set up her port access and so on. There was no way to even set up her morning IV therapy without moving the box so it was very notiacle. An we were all like 'how did this box get out here!' Anyway, I got the message and we got all the toys fixed that afternoon. This is our first service dog who is toy driven instead of training with treats and ist a bit different. Unlike our other dogs she is never inspecting any grocery bag looking for treats but she can ID a bag from PetCo, Pet Smart and Mudbay at 100 paces and makes beeline hunting for a new toy the minute she sees the bag. While we go through a whole lot less treats, it took a bit to get used to not walking out of a pet store without a toy and there were times in the early days that we would get done in the store and then I would end up rushing back in say "oops forgot a toy" and the clerks kind of looked ta me weird - like I was a bit too much as owner that had to have a toy every trip! Later on they met Blue and found out why we were always on the lookout for toys and she got the nickname "Toy Collector". Blue does hoard things too and they do tend to be things she identifies with us not being able to leave the house sith, such as saline and heparin flushes (took a whole unopened box last time that was by the door earmarked for the car trunk), hats and boots and coats are often found in her hiding places behind the couch. It's very odd as she rarely stays home but it does tend to happen after we have gone out on a trip that she does not go on. I think the message is if its something we can't find to take with us we cannot go. The one usual point with an 'accessible house' of course, is usually they don't have stairs, not even one step up into an entrance door. We found this to be a down side when we moved from a house that did have stairs (my daughters room was always on the first floor anyway) but total absence of stirs means nothing to use to work on to keep up any ability with stairs. What we eventually did as its important to keep up her ability to just short flights of stairs was that he day built heer a set in the back yard, sort of like the ones at PT, that was a ramp on one side and a 5 steps on the other. Maybe Harlow could get a set in the new backyard to keep up her ability to go up the stairs backwards!
Feel better Jacquie! Harlow the kind of dog every kid wishes for, she could actually be a dog you say to the teacher took your homework, LOL. 🤣 Harlow is too funny and cute!!! Much love from North Carolina, Linda
When I was a kid we went somewhere for the day. Our Springer Spaniel (still young) but could be trusted to not be locked in her crate. We came home to her sleeping on a pile of shoes in the living room. She had gotten at least one shoe from each of our five family members rooms because she wanted to be near our scent. 😁
Hope you feel better soon! I agree with you that Harlow liked keeping her eyes on you when she was going up the stairs backwards. As soon as she turned around at the top she came back down part-way to watch you. I think it is hard to really capture with regular words the kind of bond you two have, but at least a bit of it is truly captured in this video. You're both sweeties in my book!
What about using a Velcro command strip on your remotes (bed, tv, etc). Then they'll be in the same place you place them (wall, headboard, nightstand, etc) and w/in reach. I did this and I didn't have to open my eyes (when feeling bad) to grab them. Just a thought.
Harlow is so sweet..I have a cavalier King Charles Spaniel, not a service dog, but Nola knows when I’m down too. She’s also a “collector”...I have to be carful where I leave my glasses, because she will take them to her crate. It’s funny the things they are attracted to. Feel better!
Thank you for sharing Hippos antics. Especially while you weren’t feeling so great. It’s a great reminder that we can enjoy and embrace the lighter side of our dogs daily lives. Clarence kept bringing my shoes to me today but couldn’t tell me where he thought I should be going. Lol
When my old dog Nikki (r.i.p.) when we first got her as a puppy (4 month black lab/chow mix lived to 14) she would go into each room when we were all gone and get something of each of ours and pile it in the living room 😂🤣😭 she stopped doing it once she got older, but i was so precious!!
Thankyou harlow. In my own fibro flare this week and am stuck in bed this morning Have things to do this arvo so am laying down watching hippos antics and smiling 💗🐶
My corgi does the same thing but it's hard taking care of them when your not feeling well I've been in a lot of pain for the past few days and it's difficult but it's his sweet face that's worth it
Sorry you are having a bad day Jacqui’s, but glad Harlow can still make you laugh. The remote control really made me laugh despite not feeling well myself. I have a little Lhasa dog, great companion and makes me feel better always. Feel better soon! Big hug!. From me and from Molly.
Hope you feel better! I have a spaniel, they tend to be hoarders too. Before doing laundry I always have to check the dog bed, because there will be a collection of socks there 😁
Hope you're feeling better by now. I'm sure you are REALLY looking forward to not having to spend so much energy using stairs, when you get to your new house! That will be awesome!! I guess you can still enjoy watching Harlow back up stair @ your friends house when you go see them. Lol
Hope you feel better. It's my birthday so being in pain is not allowed! Maybe she goes up backwards to keep an eye on you. Climbs on the bed on the other side so she doesn't jostle the bed or land on you causing you more pain. We have 6 dogs now, ranging in size from Jack Russell/Chihuahua to Doberman/Irish Wolfhound. Jim had to bid on some jobs so I'm home alone with the monsters. Chompers is our biggest, he doesn't lick, he rubs his face on yours like a cat, obsessed with balls. He will curl up with me and tries to be a lap dog. Mei Mei is one of his two daughters that we have and she's the wild child, loves to lick, jealous so tries to climb onto me so I can't pet anyone else, cracks me up most of the time. Sami is her sister, looks like a Boxer, has the Boxer teeth, is very laid back, easy maintainer so a little chunky, talks back like her mama, Sassy, did. Buddy is the grandpa, choc lab/pit, was abused as a puppy so just starting to play with Tippy in the backyard which is great to see. Found him in 2010, decided 5 yrs ago that he didn't like Chompers anymore and attacked him so have to keep them separated. Tippy is the grandma, English Pointer/Boxer, loves to bark, obsessed with balls and fetch. Buttercup is a diva, thinks she's the boss of the other 5, jealous so jumps up to bite them on the ears. A friend moved into a place that charged too much for having pets so we've had her here for a year on 4/18. So many personalities and quirks. The sisters couldn't be more different. We love them all but can be tiring and stressful. Their care falls primarily onto me so the days I'm in a lot of pain, I cry. At least we have a yard at our new home, had to walk them all at the rental house. Now I open the door and out they go. Other than musical rooms with the two boys. The girls get along, thankfully. Anyway, hope hearing about our menagerie over here brought you some laughter relief. Feel better. Good girl, Harlow!!
It would have been pretty funny if during the night your side of the bed kept adjusting up and down because of the remote in Harlow's crate and she was accidentally stepping or laying on it? Hope you are doing better today.
I was hoping to see a new video today( 4/11) telling us how much better you feel. Thinking of you and sweet Harlow. I know, weird, right? I don't know you and yet I've become fond of you and your family. Feel better soon.
I was diagnosed with my genetic disorder (veds and pots) at 17 and I went from athletic to chronically I'll in weeks and at the time my family accepted that there was something wrong but now they say theres nothing wrong with me and I'm over reacting (to needing stitches or having a dislocation or fainting I dont yell or scream I just need to pause sometimes to fix things) and I should have never even gone to the doctor. I dont understand why suddenly they wont accept the realness and danger of my condition I know it's a lot and I know I'm high maintenance but I pay for my treatments and I dont make them do anything for me my dog is trained to get things and I can administer my medication but I cant help being sick I didnt want this I'd rather be normal but these are the cards I've been dealt and I dont deserve to be treated horribly because I got bad genes from my parents (edit because I realize I didn't say I'm almost 20 now and they've just started denying that my illnesses exist)
My pups go up the stairs backwards too 😂 delilah falls atleast 70% of the time the doesnt fall down the stairs just like trips backwards and gets really confused
Just got my card. Looking to feeling better with cannbis as well. The dispensaries around me are so far away. Waiting on a good day to find some relief.
Hi Jaquie! I Hope your feeling better. I wanted to send you a question Via Instagram but couldn't find one attached to your name, As a team here In tampa FL I was wondering if you use Meat Depot for Harlows diet, The deals are amazing such as buy 5 LBs get 5 Lbs free & was wondering if you had any experience with them. Thank you & best wishes -Isabella R.

If it's on the dog shelf (the floor) it's fair game! Also the jumping up on the other side could be so she doesn't hurt you accidentally.

I found out that I have lupus and have been having a flare recently, and watching your videos to get me through it ♥️

Dogs are denning animals, so her crate is her den. I have always crate trained my dogs and they loved them.
Hoarders-dog edition! Sorry you’re having a rough morning, but love the funny moments between you and Harlow.
Harlo is so funny 😂 hope you feel better soon
Feel better soon! You, Harlow, and the chicken!🤣🤣

My dogs love their crate too! They hoard our socks. 😂🤣🤣
Thankyou SO much for the laughter Hippo!!! I really needed it today!!!!
One of our bulldogs hoards my slippers, all the cat toys, random blankets and an occasional cat ( her favorite nap partner).... :)
Feel better soon, I have Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I had a bad flare-up yesterday.
Feel better & stay strong. Glad to see you've been overall doing better ❤️ lots of love to you, Judd, and Miss Harlow 💙
Harlow is so darn cute! She has a beautiful smile!
I’ve been n ordered my blanket n pink tank top!! Ty sooooooo much for adding the things I’ve asked for... You n Izzy r amazing!! Xxx
Denise Roman 🤣
I was thinking....maybe Harlow jumps up on the opposite side of the bed so she doesn't hurt you when she's jumping up there?
I love this! Harlow is entertaining and loves you!
Jaquie and the microwave. Harlow and her crate.
My dog always made a nest of items from each one of us
Does she go down the steps backwards? That’s really funny ❤️❤️❤️
Gracie my service dog loves spray bottle filled with water
Vaping cannabis really helps me when I feel.like you look.

Can't the house builders put a fence in your backyard for Harlow?
When you feel like this, would calling that new dr help?
Just curious why there is no bottom to Harlows crate? I do believe you can buy them online. Might make it easier for her to go and lay down
Be well darling xxxx
Don't you put a soft dog bed in the crate? I see just metal grates..
Hi Jaquie! I Hope your feeling better. I wanted to send you a question Via Instagram but couldn't find one attached to your name,
As a team here In tampa FL I was wondering if you use Meat Depot for Harlows diet, The deals are amazing such as buy 5 LBs get 5 Lbs free & was wondering if you had any experience with them. Thank you & best wishes -Isabella R.
Do you know why she does that ....she wants your scent in her crate .....
You'll still have Harlow even after she's too old to work?
Oh, I wanted to ask you Jackie, is your Dad moving closer to you guys?
Did u figure out why back in mid February you had excessive thirst? 🙂
