Hello, we already primed with your epoxy primer and it’s excellent, do we need top it up with 2K primer or another primer before painting?

Sorry for the long wait. In principle, there is no need to cover with other primer. But it depends on what further application steps are planned. If, for example, you want to apply a 2K top coat, then it is not necessary to apply an intermediate coat with a primer. However, if it is planned to apply filler(putty), it is strongly recommended. even if a primer coat of clear varnish is planned, i would recommend an intermediate coat followed by intermediate sanding to create a smoother surface. however, if the surfaces are not visible, this can be dispensed with. It is important that there are no recognizable sanded-through areas on the metal substrate. Otherwise, you have to coat these.
Hi. I finished with the bodywork on the oldtimer, welding and other things. The car is 50 years old with original paint, all the rust has been removed. I should paint it now with the best possible anti-corrosion paint, so that it doesn't rust, because it will only go to professional painting in 2 months. Is this product suitable for this and how many hands should be applied?
Can we use gluvitt first on the rivets and seams, and then apply the epoxy primer 72 hours later?

Sorry for the long wait. It seems to be…I found this phrase on the Gluvit page “For maximum ultraviolet protection, Gluvit must be painted after full cure. Gluvit can be overcoated with any marine paint or other coating compatible with epoxies. Check with your paint supplier and make sure the coating you are using is epoxy friendly and suitable for your application. „ so it should be passible…but to be 100% shure, it has to be testet. We as a company do not know this product and have not done any tests with it. i recommend testing the combination on an invisible spot or a piece of sheet metal in advance

Hello. You are correct, epoxy primer is applied to bare metal and in the video the primer is also applied to new metal surface. This surface is unpainted. Epoxy primer 455 is an excellent option that provides active corrosion protection and excellent adhesion to iron. It is universal, as it gives a dense layer, and can also be used wet on wet. Easy to sand even after a long time. An important factor is the fast drying, after 45 minutes you can already apply the base coat. The primer is composed of non-toxic pigments.
