The metal antenna on the side is the GPS antenna, not the LoRa antenna. The LoRa antenna is built into the PCB itself as a trace. This is probably similar to the Nano G2, which was designed specifically to get good reception while in your pocket and next to your body.
Oddly high SNR readings a couple of times there (incidentally higher positive SNR is better, but 60 has to be misreporting). I've been ignoring RSSI mostly on LoRa since i discovered the SNR is most important for reliable communication as LoRa can decode below the noise floor. LongFast works reliably down to about -17.5 SNR if I'm not mistaken.
There was an issue with the SNR calculation for the LR1110 in the underlying radio library Meshtastic is using. It's fixed, but we're still waiting for a new release of that library.
Andy, I don't know whether it's just the warm weather or something else having changed, but I'm now picking you up most days from Northamptonshire. I can see you on the node list & the public channel, but I don't think you are seeing my replies or messages (MIK3). Anyway, great stuff...
Do you have a NanoVNA yet? Would be nice to see exactly how resonant the cheap (read: not TBS Diamond) antennas are at the frequency you're using. If you don't I'll lend you mine no problem.
How did you get access to the GUI firmware? I'd love to test it out but I'm struggling to find the repo/any info on getting a copy. That t1000e is great, I could see a device like that making meshtastic much more approachable. Stick that in one of the card slots on a wallet-style phone case and enable meshtastic connectivity? yes please!
After a rough look, the peak value of sending messages is approximately between 150mA-160mA. When GPS is not turned on, the base current is between 20-25mA. When turned on, it is between 25-30mA. If GNSS is normally on, and the battery life is about 2 days .When the GNSS sampling period is greater than 1 minute, the battery life of 700mA is about 3 days
"British Wilderness" LMAO 🤣
Andy 😆🍻
Seeed Studios always make quality gear 👍
😁🍺🍺
The graphical interface on that T Deck keyboard looks pretty cool I would love to try that software out

yeah, looking forward to seeing the coverage comparison between the Nano G2 Ultra and the T-1000e😀
Always like your energy Andy. 💚🍻

@@GUVWAF good to know, first time I've seen it do that.
Excellent review Andy! Hoping to get my hands on some of the t1000 e cards soon!

Totally off topic but I was just thinking about talking to you about Rebirth RB338. Loving the vids BTW good work fella
Making it really simple makes it so much more fun. I haven't recorded anything for years.
Nice review. I've been eying those little cards as trackers. I hope the 915MHz version is tuned just as well.
Think we need to send you a RAK Blade to test Andy!
Yeah do it! 😁
Would be interesting to see if any of these inexpensive Chinese HTs could have a go at this type of thing
Nice test Andy !
I think RSSI is a log scale, so -90 and -95dBm is ~3.16 times greater signal lower.
Looking forward to getting my seeeeeed
I would love to see the T1000e with the new litephone 3 which is the same size and use the eink screen

Interesting video, but not knowing anything about radio I did not understand any of it. SNR? RSSI? No idea.
Did you preorder a T-Deck Plus from LilyGo? I ordered one of these Sensecap also.
Yeah there's one on the way 👍🏻

what's the battery life from this card ?

@@dylanazure2298 thanks u sir, that's really helpful.its not really a long battery life but it's perfect for the Wife ;)
well i guess ill just sit back and find out i guess lol thanks for sharing
lol i dont even know what im looking at what does it do and why
