It was really hilarious when he stopped and clarifies that the lyrics in his song about Ant and Dec winning an award in 1994 was wrong but he did it just to make them rhyme.
I still come back to this performance every once in a while, even though I'm American. Jon Courtenay was the kind of act Britain NEEDED at the time, and honestly I felt like the U.S. did too at the time. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a British person watching this live on tv. By the time this performance aired A LOT of people were worn out from COVID and I think an uplifting performance like this was something A LOT of people needed, which explains a lot why he won in such a landslide.
It is refreshing to be entertained by Jon. It shows that you can be very funny without swearing and veering into politics and questionable topics. Just clean good fun. He is deserving of this win.

Then John jokingly expressed what he feel when he have to teach his son due to school closed. Later on John goes to the dance mode when he want all of us to be happy and must live everyday. Then he wake up and give us hope (yes this mask must go) while his kids will not reminiscing what went missing but glad that they got more times with their parents at home. Lastly he ask us to carry on then he go back to piano for the closing stage while expressing his gratitute in a sad mode and throw back to the 1st stage when he reminded us about the small things, about the the moments that we though were small can make a different! Idk why this performance reminds to Queen right away. Oh yes not the lady one. Lol.. How he plays with the piano, how he express his feeling, the tempo of the song and he also mentioned few things such as champagne, caviar, queen and carry on. Classic and seriously i haven't see such beautiful things for quite a long time and it makes me stronger. Thank you John 💟

Jon Performing ELOs Mr Blue Sky surely would be great, but the playful nature, the climbing melodies and happy go lucky approach show what a terrific tune smith he is on his own in how he captures the ENTIRE crowd

Haven't watched BGT since the racist Banjo incident, just watched the winner on here and think he's a worthy winner, really enjoyed his act, & just shows that someone can be entertaining without swearing, playing the race card, etc. Real talent, well done. Loved the 🇬🇧
This was the stupidest choice the public has made for a winner in a long time, there’s nothing special he’s just a ordinary guy spouting relatable shit whilst playing the piano, it takes no actual skill. I was so disappointed

No chance of replacing the great victoria wood? Victoria was an all round entertainer writer, singer and actress. Well done for winning last night but your act wouldnt make great tv and hopefully the £250,000 will compensate for this.
Sometimes it doesn’t matter about who’s the more talented it comes down to who connects and delivers well more with the audience and the viewers and he my friends excelled at that by a lot which earned him his well deserved win
Right but the show is called Britain’s got “talent”. I mean as a singer he’s pretty average to be honest, there’s far better people out there. The whole premise of the show comes down to talent. Sure it’s one thing to connect with your audience but you also need to have a boat load of skill to be worthy of the title “Britain’s got talent winner”.
