MODULES #9 : DEFER | La Place

Defer is the first foreign artist invited by La Place to create artistic works for MODULES, its graffiti installation concept.
For the Playin'Paris festival, La Place brought together artists Defer and Fuzi to create a joint work installed under the Canopée des Halles. On this occasion, Defer was invited to take over La Place's modules and add his own unique style.
Alex Kizu's (aka Defer) work stems from his culture and connection with graffiti and the urban landscape, representing a profound artistic language that distorts the boundaries between street art and fine art. Defer was one of the pioneering members of the first generation of Los Angeles graffiti artists, and has distilled his "hand style" developed from his youth into abstract pieces that incorporate not only typographic motifs, but cultural patterns and intricate designs.
An exhibition to be discovered from May to October 2024 as part of La Place's MODULES exhibitions.
