Yeah, switched from 5700xt to 7900xt. AMD drivers on Linux are still very iffy to this day. Sleep mode is almost unusable as 7/10 times awakening the PC does not awaken the GPU, so no picture on the screen. Windows drivers are slightly better. In comparison using 5700xt was painless.

I got tempted to sell one during the boom they were selling 700ish used. I used to undervolt when I had a SFF pc, but since I’ve had a mid-tower I actually OC my GPUs now. Get a case with amazing airflow and OC that bad boy. I went from -5% performance (UV) to +10% performance (OC), that’s a 15% swing and the GPU runs maybe 10° hotter. The newer GPUs have massive heat sinks so they can soak tons of heat.
The recording thing is probably a big reason why big tech outlets only show footage of how a typical recording is done (unless there are graphical anomalies that need to be shown), using graphs instead for showing the performance.
I picked up my RX 5700 XT to replace my GTX 970 which is paired up with (Still running strong ) a FX 8350 / 970 chipset MB, that can still run most of the games I play, as a backup and Internet rig to my two main rigs a R9 6900X / RX 6900 XT and R5 5600X / RX6800, and even now the RX 5700 XT handles most games with adjusted settings 😃

AMD's early drivers can be a little iffy, especially for the not so tech savvy peoples. But as times goes on they're become much much better. I have couple of gpus from AMD and Nvidia, and I had problems from both companies actually. So I call bullshit to 'problem-free-drivers' from nvidia fans. But I admit if you want a plug-and-play experience you go with Nvidia, as AMD drivers can be a little hit and miss sometimes, although the've become much much better nowadays.
@@ivrgn1720 If the crashing hadn't been from less than a year ago I'd say it could be AMD driver issues, but by then the drivers for the 5700XT should've been pretty stable lol. It did have some odd issues where Adrenalin wouldn't update due to Windows issues, had to run an SFC cleanup and DISM to allow Adrenalin to update at all. Part of me even wonders if it wasn't a motherboard issue, as the PCIe 4.0 x16 slot had a few times where it simply wouldn't work at all even with a PCIe 3.0 card like a 1660Ti, then it'd just randomly start working without any driver installs or firmware upgrades. Why would you use RPCS3 instead of Xenia to emulate RDR? The PS3 version is trash and Xenia runs this game so much better.
@@dmywololowol I'm using Xenia Canary, rpcs3 won't be able to run at more than 30fps, on Xenia Canary it's like i said 60fps/1080p (higher res are much more demanding on gpus)
@@Dregomz02 I assumed that you were using RPCS3 since you said that PS emulation was fine. My bad lol.
Those 190W are just the chip and it's still underreported. The whole GPU pulls closer to 250
Sapphire 5700xt is $99 in my country
What a time we live in now especially this rdna1 GPU can do RSR for older titles or ingame like bf2042
I picked up a couple of xfx 5700xts before the GPU boom for under 300 dollars.
I have since upgraded recently both of them but they were by far the best price and performance cards I have purchased. I got tempted to sell one during the boom they were selling 700ish used.
For comparision the 2070 super launched to it traded blows with the 2070super , nvidea ended up releasing a driver update to push it a bit further past the 5700xt.
what's your take about 6800's current price, both new and used?
I just cant do it even for a budget PC. I think I am cursed as the 5000 series has gave me so much trouble that I literally just gave up with ever buying em for cheap rigs. 5600xt and 5700xt both hate me. 6000 series though never had issues with.
yeah the 5600xt and 5700xt had a bad first year and a half for drivers I actually sent my 5600xt back for a replacement cause I thought something was wrong and still same probs of stutters with some games when I got it back my friend ended up selling his 5700xt and getting the 3080 but I kept on trucking and one of the drivers fixed it one day then a month later broke it then fixed n broke and finally it's been stable for year or so now I think them cards made them learn a lesson on how to do better drivers and carried over to the 6000 series.
ngl, more pink cards would be cool af... i wish there was a astolfo pink AMD card for my white rgb build fitting with my bodypillow and mousepad.
i guess the pink card was a geforce rtx1080 but i was wrong 😮
Yes a ton🎉 ! actually pinkish is kinda nice and fresh apart from price per performance.❤
The recording thing is probably a big reason why big tech outlets only show footage of how a typical recording is done (unless there are graphical anomalies that need to be shown), using graphs instead for showing the performance.
if you're using another PC with a capture card to record gameplay, it doesn't affect performance at all, but graphs are way more informative
@@ДарийФедореев-э7т yeah, you can put way more information in a few seconds than doing it like in this video. That is true. ^^
Why does my RX 6900XT not have the option for the undervolt fine tuning control with the fancy voltage curve on Adrenaline . I call BS
Uhh, the colorway says that it's something something from yeston
9:29 Anyone there knowing what this sound is called like?
a few days ago I bought sapphire nitro + for 138$ , after undervolting it does not exceed 60 degrees
I know I'm speaking to the choir, stop buying Nvidia, nerds! That keeps the prices up!
Good video!
10gb not 8! hihi. But great video! and what a crazy price for al that performance!
really puts into perspective how old my 1080 ti is and i still love it
Such a pretty gpu! matches my pink setup! :)
I always wondered why Id get a bit more FPS than in some results and I think a lot of other bench markers are making the same mistake , My rx 580 would always show more on my end ,same with some tubers and xtx now that I use 1, My FPS be so much higher and Im like whats up with they FPS but I think they are doing the same whereas gameplay streamers use more external cards etc for this reason
the fact that I knew this was a 5700 XT (6600 was my second guess) and I have a 1650, means I'm more frustrated with my computer than I thought. I even have bad frame times in Valorant, low settings
RX 580 2048SP is available brand new for less than $100, if some don't mind missing newer technology
i have gtx750 ti and i3 8100 should i pick this? 5700 xt or should i go with 6600 xt?
I would say 6600 XT or 6650 XT since they draw less power while being slightly faster.
The thermals seem worrying and the benchmarks didn't include the hotspot.
new it was the 5700xt, while ive heard there are some optimization problems, looking at the performance id say its a beast of a card
I have a rx 580 GPU It randomly lags I guess that's just my cpu or something anyone know how to fix that I've overclocked it too btw
Vex: Its a secret $140 GPU!!
Me who already recognizes that pink shroud: 5700XT
😉
Bro really found a Barbie graphics card for Barbenheimer
Hehe I sold my 5700xt and got an upgrade to a 6700xt for free back when prices were crazy. Best decision ever. The 6700xt is the only card in its price range without massive Vram problems and the performance also still is really good.
I will say I watch comparisons all the time but that's a 5700xt knew as soon as I saw the 2 power connectors at the top then the benchmark compared to the 6700 was just watching it vs a 6600xt and a 6700 just the other day and thought they were a hell of a deal at that price but I like low power consumption so I'm going with a 6600xt for like 180 some -----------------------------------------damn I was actually rite tho lol
Because i went from a msi 1660ti and wanted something future proof i got a asus RX6700XT for 400 euro,s
Im still on an old amd 2600 ryzen cpu
But i wanne upgrade to a intel 13600k or amd 7700x 👍🏻🎮
5800X3D if you don’t want to replace the motherboard
@@piyapolphetmunee3879 my next option iff i wanne save some money and keep my motherboard,go for a 5800x. I find the 3d expensive for what it is
soo, i have a 5700 without that XT :D . yes that with XT would be faster, but i still think from that Poin it wouldn't be a good upgrade. I just stay with what i have for at least this year i think 🙂
If the 8 GB GPU VRAM is not enough it saves in the RAM. So here is my Question: Why the 5700XT 8GB HAS LESS (1-2 GB) RAM USAGE as the 6700 10GB?
I know what it is right off the bat, it'll handle most 1440p with good frame rates on high settings. I swapped mine out when I accidentally a 4k screen.
that waifu gpu is great for the price 😄👍
I bought the sapphire rx 5700xt pulse i love it apart from it getting hot.i love it use it for black desert etc. Im getting better fps then my gtx 1070ti mini zotac.
5700 xt yeston... Hey Vex, None of the Under-Volting videos you pulled up there are worth a Damn.
None of them really explain what they are doing. They just expect you to know certain things.
The point of a tutorial is to assume your audience knows nothing about the subject.
I've had varying levels of success under-volting, but I could still use some pointers.
It would be a great Vid for you to make. Adrenalin and Afterburner. Maybe do a Vid on each?
Iceberg Tech was in that list. He has an awesome video about undervolting, check that out
I just got a Gtx 1080 for £120, looking at benches it’s on par with the rx5700.
Idk Something from amd or 2060 ?
I sold my 5700 for 120 bucks a few months ago, served me like a champ for 3 years!
is it a 1660 or a 580?
Most of the 5700xt on my local used market are ex-mining though.
99% of 5000 series cards are ex mining, and that doesnt mean its useless
I bought a 5700xt Sapphire Nitro+ from a miner, i looked at various cards, checked how clean they where, if i could spot rust or rough spots, and the one i picked was clean af almost brand new, no scuffs or anything and it is going strong
And because there are many 5700xts in the used market, you can just filter the bad ones out and even if you gotta pay like 160/180 is still worth it
@@Elinzar From the pictures there's corrosion on the heatsink. But I don't know how many card the seller has. The lowest price is about $120 converted from my currency and it's without the box etc.
@@TheUrusebail off that deal, if it is not well taken care of is not worth to trow you hard earned money for a card that might not even work for long, rust in an aluminum heatsink (super hard to make it rusty) its really bad, and makes you wonder how worse the PCB might be, and if that miner have one rusty af, it means that pretty much an indication that he didnt take care of his cards while operating so yeah imo pass
find another seller with a card that is basically looking brand new even if it is a bit more expensive
I am at 1:27, and I recognize the cooler as a Yeston RX 5700XT waifu card.
6600xt?
Two minutes in, guessing it's the RX 580, the Chinese market version which is actually the RX 570 (in terms of stream processor / ROP count). I'll leave it here, whether right or wrong. Now, back to the video. Edit: Aww, I lose. Didn't realise it was used.
is it the yeeston 5700 XT waifu edition ?
1080 or 2060 super based on ram clearly being limited to 8gb, boost clocks, and power draw
Eh almost. Guessing that is a pretty badly binned 5700xt, seems to be drawing 30-40w less than rated with a lower boost clock to go with it. I was assuming you'd be getting higher clocks than what the GPU was rated for, that's why I guessed 1080 and 2060s
Go with the ELSA brand 5700xt. Got mine for $115
i payed 569.00 dollars for a rtx 2070 when it first came out , and now the performance of a rtx 4070 is nearly double that of a rtx 2070 at about the same price when it first came out, I feel like i got played
Yess i guessed it right and I think this is the best value for price gpu
You're using old TPU data, since then drivers have improved massively putting the 5700XT at 2070 Super performance levels.
a770 is faster than a 6700 XT?
1080ti and 5700xt is still the king of 1080p 144hz king especially at competetive games.
Hmm.. I'm afraid to imagine what the government came up with to screw us again if an FBI agent advertises a PINK GPU.
Im guessing this is some weird Yeston 5700XT card.
Gtx 1080 ti?
The RX 6700 is a golden gpu
I got the 5700 asus and on cuberpunk i got 80 fps av with ryzen5600x
i thought it was a 2060S damn :(
"8 gb does kinda suck.." Me on my 6gb 1060 : 👁👄👁
LETS GO YESTON!!!
I actually wish I i could get one of the waifu cards, but i haven't seen any reasonable price for those lol
i would use it if my case had more pink, i have a black theme pc
I had a feeling it might be amd but didn't know which one
If my brother's didn't keep crashing for seemingly no reason it would've been excellent. Hotspot temps were nearing 100C for some reason despite GPU die temps sticking around 40-50. But frequent crashes had him opt to trade it for a 2070 Super.
Gotta love ASUS.
lol this card brand new is about the same price as RTX 4080 $900 in my country
honestly I usually dislike Pink, but that is a pretty one.
