      Yes, you can put a 4 color changer instead of the 2 color one. You will also need to replace the trip cam that opens the jaws of the lock and install the front extension plate.

    This is the best instructions and explanation I have ever seen. I am so grateful. The Passap Duo 80 I bought last week hasn't been used for 5-6 years. The basic cleaning was overdue and it worked well. Thank you so much. You are an expert.😊

    This video is again very interesting and helpfull. What a brilliant idea to oil the pushers with a needle. I have used the deco today with a passap punch card, it works and it is a nice pattern. (I don't know how to post a photo here.) Moving the lock with the deco is very hard to do - the machine even moves - I guess I start with cleaning the deco first. Thank you again.

      Thank you for the comment!
      If the whole machine moves while you are using the Deco device, check if the pushers slide easily up and down. If it's hard to slide the pushers by hand, you need to take them out, clean them and the channels, and oil them again afterward. I guess that might be the problem.
      Unfortunately, you can't post photos in the comments here. I would be happy if you share it on my FB page: facebook.com/polymerclayart or my email: artofclay.bg@gmail.com .

      @@ArtOfClay i have cleaned the machine with surgical spirit as you suggested and it runs much better. I cleaned the channels with a brush, they are hard to clean. Some pushers still don't move easily. But the table does not move anymore when i try the deco. Thank you for the advice!

      That's great to hear! The machine definitely takes some time to be cleaned. I'm glad the cleaning helped improve the machine's performance. Thank you very much for providing your feedback! Happy knitting! 🧶🧶

    What kind of oil are you using? Great video!!

      I am using Technical White Oil ISO VG 22. It is suitable for industrial sewing and knitting machines and doesn't damage plastic parts.

    Why can't this video be saved to watch later or any other playlists?

    • @ArtOfClay
      @ArtOfClay  Год назад +1

      Probably some strange kind of RUclips glitch. I accidentally minimized the window, then maximized it, and the buttons for adding to a playlist, downloading, and sharing appeared. I really can't tell what the reason for that is.

    Hi. What is double knitting?

    • @ArtOfClay
      @ArtOfClay  Год назад +1

      I did some research and I found the following.
      It's a colorwork technique in knitting. In double knitting, the knitter works with two yarns at the same time, one for each side of the fabric. The knitter alternates between the two yarns, knitting one color for one side of the fabric and another for the other side.
      Double knitting can be done by hand-knitting or machine-knitting, both methods are different but the final result is similar. In the hand-knitting, it's a bit more complicated because the knitter needs to keep track of both yarns and the pattern, but when using a knitting machine is a bit easier as the knitter only needs to set up the pattern on the machine and the machine will do the rest.
      One of the scarves I made, which is knitted with a different yarn on each side may be counted as double knitting, as well as the red/orange cover which is reversible, and the image is visible on both sides (the colors are inverted on the back side).
      On the Passap, it should mean when you use the pushers on both beds in combination with the arrow keys to make the most of the examples in the small stitch pattern book like brioche stitch, etc.
      I am unsure if this is true for all kinds of double-bed jacquard.
      I assume that when using a punch card, the knitted piece has a right side with an image and a wrong side with the weaved yarn tails, so that may not be double knitting. It should be a double-bed fabric, but not a double knitting as a color technique.
      This is the source where I originally learned that information: nimble-needles.com/tutorials/what-is-double-knitting/
      The things are explained in more detail there. According to this article, double knitting it's almost the same as double-bed knitting (double-face knitting), so it may include most of the double-bed knitted fabrics.
