Slavery came in alle colors though,in Europe or at least in what is now Holland for instance it was normal for rich farmers tot have so called lijfeigenen and horigen..Those were poor people they could just pick from the street and enslave.
Same went for the people that had to work on the ships that brought the African slaves to the West Indies and what is now the US.
They werd treated even worse because they were cheaper and easier to replace, the slavetraders only had to pick them up from the street.
The kings and leaders of African tribes sold their defeated enemies to the European traders and profited a lot from the slavetrade.
It was always more of a 'those who have' against a 'those who have not' than a black or white thing...
Still doesn't change a thing about all the damage slavetrade has done and still does.

It's sad to realize that's what life boils down to when we reach adulthood. It's easy being a kid because we don't worry about these things but when we become adults life sorta hits you like a baseball bat upside the head.
