It was even a longer episode so the pace was even slower. The rest of the episode would have been a hell of a lot better if the ending didn't deflate all tension and build up.

I think Negan already knew who he wanted and the (out of order) Eeny Meeny thing was just for show. I don't think he'd go for Abraham as that guy was ready for it, which would reduce the emotional impact.

Sure, my initial reaction was anger and frustration like many others' was as well, but after letting it simmer for a day or two, I decided it was my own expectations that got in the way. I bought into all the hype of "who's gonna die?!" and felt let down. But I feel differently about it now. The episode was nearly perfect and literally frightened me. I'm okay with waiting until October to find out the answer to the mystery. In the meantime I'm left with a lingering feeling of brutality that is not yet resolved and now I think that was more effective on this finale than showing me who to mourn for. Thanks for sharing your appreciation for this amazing show!

Watch the S7 premiere start out with a rewind of what happened when Daryl, Michonne, Glenn & Rosita were captured (ending with Glenn's death). That cliffhanger was a cheap stunt, we'll all know when Steven Yeun doesn't turn up for filming this summer.

That trap the Saviors set for them road-by-road was clever and frightening. Negan was a chilling bastard and my nerves were all over the place throughout this whole scene. Glenn was real damn brave to stand up for Maggie like he did under such a serious threat and I fear that, just like in the comics, he did indeed pay the price under Negan's bat.
plus, I think the breakdown of Rick's bravado is a key part, people are focusing more on who Neagan killed. Rick may have a 'Carol loss of confidence' meltdown after this. He was too cocky taking on the saviors without knowing how sadistic they are.

They wanted us to focus more on how Rick went from being so confident to loosing all hope. If they included the character, all would focus on them and their death. Now, Season 7 will open up with the death.
I've been thinking about the hanging walkers. Neegan uses those as a show of power. It makes a lot of sense to cut them down, especially if you have a respect for all life.

If it wasn't for the ending, this would've been my fav season! I'm not mad, im just disappointed we waited all season for this and they make us wait till October. But im not gonna let that cliffhanger decide the whole season. So this is definitely my fav season of TWD. Everyone part of The Walking Dead series whether it is the cast, or the writers or the executive producers, makeup, etc. They all stepped it up to a whole another level this season! Everyones acting was phenomenal. Everytime i rewatch that ending my heart goes crazy! In the opening scene of the season 7 premiere, were definitely gonna see who got their head bashed in by Lucille. For me, i think its definitely Glenn who gets it from Negan. My theory is it has to be either Glenn or Daryl. The death is seen from the first person point of view and the only other time we see from this point of view is when the 4 (Glenn, Daryl, Michonne and Rosita) are in the van. I don't think Negan would kill a woman, so my bet is one of those guys. Just my guess.

+Gabriel Bell Yeah, i was thinking the same. At first, it seems like he's choosing someone on Rick's left (we can see Negan's shadow on Rick's face), but then, i don't know... There are more hints about someone on the right , and i take those multiple shots we've seen throughout the episode as one.
If we're going off the pov shots, then it's Glenn. He's the only character that's been given those moments, and he's at the back of the van with Daryl and Michonne for the other pov shots throughout the episode.

ok so, my opinion from the way Negan went down the line. The person who was bashed was near Carl who was to the right of Rick. Negan motions to both Carl and Rick when he says if anyone moves to cut out the kid's eye and feed it to his dad. whoever got it was next to Carl. That leaves Sasha, Eugene, and Aaron. my best guess is Aaron or Eugene. I think it was Eugene because of the teary goodbye that the group gave him at the RV before they carried Maggie into the woods. Also, the person who plays Eugene said that he threw the script across the room when he read it at home. However, just because of location/proximity so near Carl, it could be Aaron.
It was Michonne. It was her view in the van we see throughout the episode. When Negan is doing his "eenie meenie" thing, the bat never was shown with Michonnes face. It was always just her face..making me believe when the bat is pointed at the camera..it's her point of view. This would destroy Rick and Carl. It would affect the entire group. Michonne would have "taken it like a champ" for Rick and Carl.
maybe it wasn't Glenn cuz if u think about it I heard that when dennis died she didn't in the comic cuz Abraham caught the arrow and they changed it in that episode so the theory of it being Glenn could switch around and I think they would choose a character that hasn't been there since day 1 aside from michonne

Keep in mind they used the POV in continuity, at least it would seem. So they've used the first person POV since the start of the episode. That should mean that the character who got the bat was in the van, either Daryle, Glenn, Rosita, or Michonne. I'm convinsed that Negan killed Michonne - there was way too much foreshadowing in this episode for it not to be her. For example, when we saw the death of whoever, we were seeing it through their eyes. The only other times throughout the episode that we were seeing through a characters eyes was when Michonne, Daryl, Glenn and Rosita were locked in the back of the truck. So it makes sense that it would be one of them, and the fact that you can clearly see the back of Daryl's head in one of those scenes, it makes sense that it was Michonne since she was sitting directly behind Daryl. Not to mention that Rick hacked the arm off of the walker that had Michonne's hair attached to it, with the same axe that he used to hack off Jessie's arm when she died. That seems far too obvious to have been an accident, so yeah, my bets on Michonne.

Glenn because they may follow the comics and also because it would just be so evil to kill him off with pregnant Maggie right there watching, unable to do anything :( Abraham because he is already dead in the comics and it would affect Sasha and Rosita. Negan says "Taking it like a champ" Now who in the group in this current situation would be able to take such a strike from that bat and still remain strong. I say Glenn and Abraham, their faces look like they are tough, strong, and very angry. I do not think anyone else would be told that they are taking it like a champ because everyone else in either injured greatly or frightened and crying (Rick, Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Sasha, Eugene.) None of the girls could handle it, Rick and Carl are not the one because Negan talks about them just before he smashes unknown victim. Injured people could not handle it either. They would not do Aaron because he isn't big and he is shaking/frightened. It comes down to Glenn or Abraham. Both look like they could take a hit and still be a little okay, they look strong and determined. In the end though, the think they will choose Glenn, it will affect Maggie, the viewers, and the group greatly in Season 7.

It's because he seems very charming and likable which makes him more scarier, because you don't anticipate the worst with these people (minus the fact he mentioned 'regretting it' previously), you still have hope that things might turn around. That makes it unnerving, because how can someone who looks likable, be so cruel!?!
That is not entirely true. Men can find other man likeable and charming as well. You have sicko's like Ramsay Bolton (don't know if you watch Game of Thrones, but he is a character from the show) who, will tell you they will mess you up badly, even if only by using few words. He exudes 'psycho'. If you see him walk and talk you know there is no way out and no forgiveness at all. With Negan it could go both ways. He could have killed more of them instead one, or even all of them. He's not just brutal, but actually has a plan and if you can contribute to that you just might find yourself still alive.

That trap the Saviors set for them road-by-road was clever and frightening. Negan was a chilling bastard and my nerves were all over the place throughout this whole scene. Glenn was real damn brave to stand up for Maggie like he did under such a serious threat and I fear that, just like in the comics, he did indeed pay the price under Negan's bat.

FINALLY!!!! Someone who said it was a good ending...!!!!! Frustrating, yes... eerie,yes,...sickening sound effects, definitely! Loved this reaction!
plus, I think the breakdown of Rick's bravado is a key part, people are focusing more on who Neagan killed. Rick may have a 'Carol loss of confidence' meltdown after this. He was too cocky taking on the saviors without knowing how sadistic they are.
+NewfieNurse IKR, every single person I watched had this disappointed look when the episode ended. I personally loved this episode and ending, brilliant. They wanted us to focus more on how Rick went from being so confident to loosing all hope. If they included the character, all would focus on them and their death. Now, Season 7 will open up with the death.

I've been thinking about the hanging walkers. Neegan uses those as a show of power. It makes a lot of sense to cut them down, especially if you have a respect for all life.

The dude that the Saviors chased, tortured, and hanged in the beginning of the show was from the library Morgan and Carol were at so my guess is that the guy Morgan cuts down was hung by the Saviors. The one who "Fired the First Shot".

If it wasn't for the ending, this would've been my fav season! I'm not mad, im just disappointed we waited all season for this and they make us wait till October. But im not gonna let that cliffhanger decide the whole season. So this is definitely my fav season of TWD. Everyone part of The Walking Dead series whether it is the cast, or the writers or the executive producers, makeup, etc. They all stepped it up to a whole another level this season! Rick looked so terrified, pretty sure he shit his pants. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's take on Negan was AMAZING and not to forget Andrew lincolns acting has been on a whole another level for 6 seasons straight. He's an absolute LEGEND! Everyones acting was phenomenal. Everytime i rewatch that ending my heart goes crazy! In the opening scene of the season 7 premiere, were definitely gonna see who got their head bashed in by Lucille. For me, i think its definitely Glenn who gets it from Negan. Look up the leaked audio, it shows you that Glenn dies you can hear Glenn say "mag-" and maggie screaming Glenns name along with Abraham and Carl saying (NO!!!!)

I feel it is glenn. He looked kinda shocked when he took the first hit and we would expect that out of abe. So my guess is Glenn. It's going to be a fucked up first episode of season 7 but i can't wait.
My theory is it has to be either Glenn or Daryl. The death is seen from the first person point of view and the only other time we see from this point of view is when the 4 (Glenn, Daryl, Michonne and Rosita) are in the van. I don't think Negan would kill a woman, so my bet is one of those guys. Just my guess.
Daryl looks way to fucked up to be able to "take it like a champ" at this point... Sorry Glenn.

Wow I remember back in season 4 when Abraham first came on the show (he, Rosita and Eugene showed up at the end of the episode) and Brad wondered if that was Negan since people in the comments had been talking about him 😂

I don't think its Abraham. Every time we saw first person view was through the characters eyes in the back of the van until the end so it has to be someone who was in the van. That's my opinion anyways

+Gabriel Bell Yeah, i was thinking the same. At first, it seems like he's choosing someone on Rick's left (we can see Negan's shadow on Rick's face), but then, i don't know... There are more hints about someone on the right , and i take those multiple shots we've seen throughout the episode as one.
If we're going off the pov shots, then it's Glenn. He's the only character that's been given those moments, and he's at the back of the van with Daryl and Michonne for the other pov shots throughout the episode.

ok so, my opinion from the way Negan went down the line. The person who was bashed was near Carl who was to the right of Rick. Negan motions to both Carl and Rick when he says if anyone moves to cut out the kid's eye and feed it to his dad. whoever got it was next to Carl. That leaves Sasha, Eugene, and Aaron. my best guess is Aaron or Eugene. I think it was Eugene because of the teary goodbye that the group gave him at the RV before they carried Maggie into the woods. Also, the person who plays Eugene said that he threw the script across the room when he read it at home. However, just because of location/proximity so near Carl, it could be Aaron.

It was Michonne. It was her view in the van we see throughout the episode. When Negan is doing his "eenie meenie" thing, the bat never was shown with Michonnes face. It was always just her face..making me believe when the bat is pointed at the camera..it's her point of view. This would destroy Rick and Carl. It would affect the entire group. Michonne would have "taken it like a champ" for Rick and Carl.
maybe it wasn't Glenn cuz if u think about it I heard that when dennis died she didn't in the comic cuz Abraham caught the arrow and they changed it in that episode so the theory of it being Glenn could switch around and I think they would choose a character that hasn't been there since day 1 aside from michonne

Keep in mind they used the POV in continuity, at least it would seem. So they've used the first person POV since the start of the episode. That should mean that the character who got the bat was in the van, either Daryle, Glenn, Rosita, or Michonne. I'm convinsed that Negan killed Michonne - there was way too much foreshadowing in this episode for it not to be her. For example, when we saw the death of whoever, we were seeing it through their eyes. The only other times throughout the episode that we were seeing through a characters eyes was when Michonne, Daryl, Glenn and Rosita were locked in the back of the truck. So it makes sense that it would be one of them, and the fact that you can clearly see the back of Daryl's head in one of those scenes, it makes sense that it was Michonne since she was sitting directly behind Daryl. Not to mention that Rick hacked the arm off of the walker that had Michonne's hair attached to it, with the same axe that he used to hack off Jessie's arm when she died. That seems far too obvious to have been an accident, so yeah, my bets on Michonne.
The order is:Glenn,Rosita,Daryl,Michonne,Abraham,Maggie,Rick,Sasha,Aaron,Carl, Eugene

Negan says "Taking it like a champ" Now who in the group in this current situation would be able to take such a strike from that bat and still remain strong. I say Glenn and Abraham, their faces look like they are tough, strong, and very angry. I do not think anyone else would be told that they are taking it like a champ because everyone else in either injured greatly or frightened and crying (Rick, Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Sasha, Eugene.) None of the girls could handle it, Rick and Carl are not the one because Negan talks about them just before he smashes unknown victim. Injured people could not handle it either. They would not do Aaron because he isn't big and he is shaking/frightened. It comes down to Glenn or Abraham. Both look like they could take a hit and still be a little okay, they look strong and determined. In the end though, the think they will choose Glenn, it will affect Maggie, the viewers, and the group greatly in Season 7.

its Eugene people with hair over there eyes are out glen,maggie,rick,carl coz the view was clear there was no hair in their face he wont kill a girl surely so that leaves Eugene and the son of the maker of elexandria but in the audio you hear Maggie sayin no to glen because glen see the bat pointed towards maggi but its actually pointed at Eugene so glen shouts and then maggi says no to glen to stop him from moving and then Eugene says no to glen to stop everybody moving
It's because he seems very charming and likable which makes him more scarier, because you don't anticipate the worst with these people (minus the fact he mentioned 'regretting it' previously), you still have hope that things might turn around. That makes it unnerving, because how can someone who looks likable, be so cruel!?!

That is not entirely true. Men can find other man likeable and charming as well. You have sicko's like Ramsay Bolton (don't know if you watch Game of Thrones, but he is a character from the show) who, will tell you they will mess you up badly, even if only by using few words. He exudes 'psycho'. If you see him walk and talk you know there is no way out and no forgiveness at all. With Negan it could go both ways. He could have killed more of them instead one, or even all of them. He's not just brutal, but actually has a plan and if you can contribute to that you just might find yourself still alive.
