I’m the guy at 5:42. It was so, so nice to meet you Ben and I’m glad you had as much fun as I did. It was a blast to meet you and so many others! Thanks for putting me in your video! Edit: I found the guy I was looking for! Shank Mods. Also you’re in my video on MGC!
The "Original" Ben Heck doing his legendary "Original" Ben Heck convention tour! It was a lot of fun this year. I bought some cool games I may or may not ever play.
I can't believe I overlooked the homebrew exhibit, I spent waaay too much time pushing the polka button thinking it made the escalator go faster. Oh, and I bought that Arduino game kit after my success with your game badge workshop. And that box of junk with the green T-molding? Got it for $20 along with all it's glorious treasure. I have so many buttons now. Love pushing buttons....
Thanks for covering this, Ben! As someone who doesn't drink all that much beer (had a total of 3 in 2023 so far), it's nice to have a reason to come to Wisconsin other than cheese. 😁 Would love to see this in person someday.
2:29 a wild Clint appears. BTW, that Zotac board runs off 12v from a barrel jack. I built one into a Pelican case once. So what more _could _you want!?
That TMNT story AND his DELIVERY... was *_amazing!!!_* TMNT were such great arcades! (I liked X-Men, too; Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops and... Jean-Gray?)
@@BenHeckHacks You leave a good, lasting impression on folk! -Heck- errr _Hell,_ I remember hearing about your first portable mods back in the day, just in passing, and that was enough to stick with me all these years. So when this channel popped up in my feed during CoViD, I instantly knew. 😋 If I still lived in MN, I'd drive out to buy you some curds and beer! 🍻
Malort is going to become a convention meme at the rate this is going. Also, the Torgo shoutout made me think of all the damn music in Manos... which I now have stuck in my head.
I've built one of those Harlequin Spectrums, but I got the standard colors for the case and had to modify the ports on the backside myself. Great fun to build and a much "cleaner" experience compared to a Commodore 64 build where you are forced to use some old chips, old cases and old keyboards in most cases.
I would totally take the Zotac ITX computer, assuming it were being given away. I have use for a low powered tiny computer, but my Intel Atom ITX board is a little too low powered.
i'm not quite sure what's the cpu in that bad boy but it will be perfect for a NAS/media center/Steam link PC, assuming is something like a pentium gold or an old i3
I didn't want to carry around the camera at the afterparty (was easier at VCF since I had a booth) I need to buy a shoulder strap, Sony's used to come with them.
Grewat video realy sad i missed you. I was in the indie game section showing off my projection mapped popup book game most of the time but must have been away when u visited our section :(
That sounds amazing! I was there all three days (and at Ben's workshop) but completely regret not spending much time at all in the indie game area (in the main hall or one of the side rooms where the brilliant World of Nintendo exhibit was). I've concluded those are the areas I'm most interested in for future visits, I did buy the Earthbound documentary and one other plus a few indie titles but just didn't get much a chance to look all of that over.
That apple 2 was the first computer I ever owned . I sold everything complete with monitor and printer for $20 .😂😂😂 Wish I still had it. I use to play lots of space invaders on that thing.

Ive never even seen a sweet thing with vegemite on it (thank fk) i used to have it on toast or on saladas with butter when i was a kid, nowdays i dont have it just because i dont eat toast 😂
Yep! It's Kelsey Lewin and Frank Cifaldi. They're the directors of the Video Game history Foundation. Looks like the event was "Preserving Our Past with the Video Game History Foundation" Not sure who the gentleman on the right is, though. They make a pretty good podcast too!
Hey, Ben. I helped run the museum section that you were checking out, in particular that SuperGRAFX you commented on in this video was mine. I curate that section with a bunch of shoot 'em ups. I see you nearly every year but don't hardly ever get a chance to chat with ya. Hope to see you in 2024!
