5 to 6 days with media mail, lol. I would be happy if Priority Mail was moving that fast now
Right I had to give up on media mail it usually save little but took twice as long.
I would use it for dvds and stuff like that. But if I have to pay a few cents more for first class I would take that because it does come quicker. But sometimes media mail comes fast. It is in 2-8 days so can come in 2 days.
Here’s a good trick for easy storage of your golf clubs and baseball bats. I found this trick when I was looking for options to contain my mess of yard tools. Get a tall filing cabinet, remove the drawers, and flip on its back. Boom! Instant compartment storage. And you can add caster wheels to make it more portable like your shelves. I got a cabinet for free that was pretty rusty. I had a ton of spray paint leftover from the previous homeowner and decided to paint mine as well! Very easy, and affordable life hack!
Only thing to check for... many filing cabinets have hollow bottoms, which wouldn’t work for this purpose. So just double check that before selecting a cabinet to use 🙂

I feel your pain with that negative email. I had one a few months ago. A lady PAID for a mug and then started asking me all kinds of questions about condition, etc. Nearly all of the questions were answered in my description and photos. The mug was used, but in good clean condition. I answered her questions. She proceeded to complain about the high price and that I probably picked it up at a garage sale (close....a thrift store). I decided to refund her money. I added a note telling her thank you for her interest in the item, but I have decided to cancel the transaction. I got about three more messages ..... one berating me for the refund, one apologizing for her behavior due to a long car trip, and the last where she wallowed in self pity of now not having the mug as a gift for her daughter. I just didn’t respond after the refund. I’ve learned it’s better to keep things as positive as possible and to make straight forward statements with no “I, me, my, you, your” verbiage so as to not to come across as accusing/blaming. Thank goodness these interactions only happen once in a blue moon.

I absolutely love watching your channel. I definitely appreciate the knowledge that you give with your content but most of all I love your positivity. Even dealing with a cranky buyer. It is great motivation for me to be more positive during our ridiculous situation right now. Not always an easy thing....Of course, if we wanted easy, we wouldn't be resellers!
I had a guy flip out and give me negative feedback about a package that was scanned delivered that he had not received yet. Ebay was great, I never had to ask. They removed the negative feedback without me asking.
My mom live 100+ miles from us in the same state. She sent a note to my daughter. It took 22 days to get to her. What happened was there was a semi trailer sitting in the back 40 of the post office parking lot. They forgot about it. Finally it was found, and letter mailed. Things happen!
My biggest disappointment with eBay is that as a seller, I always leave a positive feedback for quick payers, but overall, I have received very little feedback once the item is received!!!! At least for me, buyers don’t bother to give me feedback, assuming it’s positive... (at least it’s not negative?). I always pack things well AND ship the same day or next day because I have things boxed up and ready to go once payment is confirmed!!! My account says I have 45 reviews (all positive), but I have sold so much more than that!!!

I have just started selling DVD players and consoles. I was getting tired of hooking them up to my TV. Then I saw that you are using a travel TV. Total facepalm moment! It took us 3-weeks to get 2 different phone cases from MO to AZ...that's what happens when you shut down a whole pile of mail sorters. Delivery and reputations suffer.
I just had that with a poster it took 45 days to go from New Jersey to Knoxville TN. Buyer canceled the order after 10 days, I had to pay for it's return. Which only took two days.
Tennessee is horrible!! I have multiple items just holding there. Small towns are the worst and your LA type cities are lighting fast.
Hey John, when I don't put in a tote for listed inventory I just put it as "C1C2 Shelf" for example, that lets me know it's loose on that shelf.
You are right about the mail. I sent package to Florida in late November. It took 2 and a half weeks to get to destination ! One to Britain took about 5 weeks.
I have only just recently begun watching your videos, but you seem like a really nice man. Very humble etc. The way you handled yourself with the upset buyer was great. I agree that there must be something in that person's life to make them the way they are...and honestly no matter what you would have said to him it wouldn't have mattered. He thinks he is right and there is no changing someone like that. I always tell my husband to be the bigger person in those instances and you were. Good on you!
Passed by just north of you a couple of weeks ago on my way from my home in Northern Virginia to Indiana to help my cousin move. Although I haven’t been to Cincinnati since I was in my HS German Club, when we visited during Oktoberfest in 1986/87...abs indeed from our group and bought Reds tickets from a scalper.

This video showed more of what a day in reseller's life. I swear moving items to list seems to be a major part of my week. Once listed they go to there home. Then I move more items to list. Trying to keep organized and compacted. I have my to list items in a room. The room I list in is our office.
Ugh same thing happened to me. I didn’t even realize I was shipping something out to a place only 40 miles away. It was in a flat rate box and I dropped it off the next day at the post office(the guy ordered it the previous night). It took 4 days to go to the separate post offices 40 miles from each other. He gave me neutral feedback saying shipping was slow....us sellers shouldn’t be penalized for the slow usps lol. At least it wasn’t a negative feedback
Matt I believe I’ve heard other resellers say that you can have bad reviews removed for issues with USPS
I would have contacted ebay to have the feedback removed as shipping was not slow. You dropped it off on time.
I have gotten negative feedback 24 hours after a sale. It was really crazy. There is always someone!
I got a positive one with “slow shipping” dude I ship 90% the same day 10% second day. I even have a comment shipping is happening in 48H

I started using the Haier TV because of Lonnie also. I love it. I have had luck using some canned air to clean out the PS2 system. May have some dirt build up from sitting.

Hey! just a quick tip. With those Playstation 2's, a good thing to do if a disc fails to read is to VERY carefully clean the lens which reads the games. It is very accessible. All you have to do is to lift the disc door and there should be something that looks like a small glass ball... That's the lens! Sometimes over time gunk, dirt, dust, and residual particles from discs can get on this lens. Take a q tip and some isopropyl alcohol. Dip the q tip into the alcohol (you don't need much) and proceed to lightly dab the surface of the glass lens. You can rub it, but be VERY careful. Any microscopic scratch will severely affect the reading capabilities. I LOVE your content. Keep it up please!!! :)

Why are some items free shipping and some are not? How do you determine when to charge shipping?
I got a neutral feedback on a book that was sent free shipping on media mail. It was going from NC to Alaska. The buyer thought I should have sent it priority. The book was 9.99. I contacted eBay through eBay for business and by telephone. They both told me that eBay no longer removes feedback because even if the seller feels the feedback wasn’t deserved.

When I sold on Ebay I had a package that we sent next day but got routed all over California for 30 days, we shared buyer tracking information showing him we shipped, talked to post office etc. Got package, extremely satisfied with merchandise ....but still left us negative feedback....sometimes cant win, but we had thousands of positive feedback so just ignored.

Hey man. You should try to test ps2 consoles with ps1 and ps2 games or a dvd and cd. Just to be sure both lasers are working. Have had multiple consoles where one or the other did not work. Same thing go for ps3s, test with Blu-ray, dvds, and cds to make sure all three lasers are good. Thanks for everything you do for the community!

Ebay for Business FB refused to remove a negative feedback for us when a Buyer left a negative because they said a puzzle piece was missing from a Brand New, Sealed, Shrink wrapped puzzle! How is that the seller's fault? Buyer never contacted us at all. We hadn't had less than a 100% feedback in nearly 20 years! Of course for 18 of those we hadn't been selling until recently. I soooo wanted to ask the buyer (who never responded to our messages thru ebay) if they had a cat in their house. If they do, they'll probably find it under their refrigerator some day! Lol!
Hey, I am wondering if you try cleaning up the consoles that won't read. My experience was back in the day with CD and DVD players, whenever they wouldn't read I would get a q-tip and some alcohol and clean the lens. Most times that would do the trick.
What you can do is show the receipt is when you shipped the item, when he bought it, and what type of shipping he selected (and if there was an option to buy faster shipping). That should sufficiently mitigate any complaint.

So I sold a kinect 2 months ago and just now the guy got a paypal refund for 50 bucks saying it had a scratch on the lens and I didnt mention it which I didnt even see or pay attention too. It worked so I sold it anyway.
I was wondering if there is anything I can do? It's like he bought it and used it for a few months and now sending it back. He received it Sept 25 the tracking says left with individual or something so he had it it's not like it got dropped off somewhere while he was gone and just got back.
Sadly through PayPal not much he is returning it and that's why PayPal sucks cause they do the old 60 days and eBay gives you the option to offer 30 or 60 days. Unless they push it for credit card order and want refund that's 90 days. Anyhow you must not paid much and can resell it.
I just recently had the same issue with a buyer on Ebay. I sold a book and it was listed with media mail shipping. The buyer sent me a message two days later complaining I took the cheap way and sent it media mail. I explained it said media mail in the listing. The buyer kept threatening negative feedback and kept saying I was doing nothing to make the situation right. I offered a refund if they wanted to send the book back but that wasn't good enough. I honestly just think they wanted their money back and to keep the book for free. After all the complaints the buyer never even left feedback 🤦♂️

Had a missing/undelivered poster and got a case against me opened, Refunded the buyer on the 29th day. The package got delivered on the 30th day. :( Buyer never repaid for the item because case was CLOSED because I gave a refund. Lost $38 on that deal. Lesson- NEVER refund until the PO finds it, delivers it or reimburses you FIRST.
I knew right away that they were talking about Avett Brothers. Might have some similar music taste. Any other suggestions? A few quick suggestions would be Shovels & Rope, Nickel Creek, Songhoy Blues(world music and super awesome, guitar reminds me of Jimi at times), Kurt Vile, Calexico and Iron & Wine collab albums, anything of the Will Oldham monikers, and just tons of other stuff like that. If you like world, afrobeat, ME music then Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ravi Shankar, Majek Fashek, and Fela Kuti are some of my favorites.
Oh and Deer Tick is always a favorite.
i sold some pokemon cards on ebay in January this year and took 24 days to ship one order to Indiana from illinois. It even took 9 days to get a package from illinois to illinois. When people don't understand logistics its extremely aggravating. Luckily all my buyers were super nice and understanding.
I'm in the middle of dealing with a false claim buy a buyer who claims it's defective. I tested it and it was fully functional. Now she refuses to mail it back and wants to keep it and get a full refund. I hate how eBay takes the money out of your pending payouts even if it was a buyer extortion attempt
I sold an item that went with gsp from UK to USA. They ordered 10pm, I sent out next morning 9am. Gets to eBay gsp centre in two days. Gets delivered to them abroad within a week, super fast, 10 days earlier than expected delivery date. I then get negative feedback that delivery was slow. Contact ebay to say clearly not my fault as I got to gsp so quick then out of my hands. Their response was it is a 'buyers opinion' so feedback stands. Took three calls and 5 different people before one said it wasn't my fault. Completely infuriating how ebay nearly always sides with the buyer.
I don't think delivery speed is an opinion at all. USPS has a table that shows what's considered acceptable delivery times above their "estimated" delivery date.
@@doiron12 I think a big reason with buyers moaning over delivery time is they're so used to Amazon prime they seem to expect it from eBay sellers which is obviously never going to happen.

On the smushed plastic on the car box- use the heatgun gently and usually the plastic will return to the old shape.
The ps2 that disc didn't spin is a common issued with a clip breaking youtube tutorial to fox it
Lol good old crazy ebay buyers. Try cleaning the ps2 lens with some rubbing alcohol and a qtip. It wont always spin up if the disc cant be read. Great video John .
I had a message like this before. But the next email I got from the buyer he was apologetic saying he’s ADD and can be very anal about things at times. I just let it slide, not worth the aggravation.
He's was a big man though to apologize! I find that hard to do. I was on a train in the UK and a guy knocked a coffee on my lap. I yelled at the guy and never apologized later. I still feel bad about it to this day because it was an accident. We are all a work in progress. We will see if I learned anything next time? LOL
So media mail takes faster for it to arrive I bought some horror movies I bought the exorcist in December it’s now the end of February 2021 and I bought Disney dvds for my daughter so do you think I should wait a long time for them to come it’s currently snowing here in Indiana thanks for this video
I have one of those Haier tvs, but I like the 13 inch crt tv for that. I bought the crt tv to sell and just like it for testing vcrs and video game equipement. I like watching movies on the vcrs while at my desk working.
I do love the way how he said "flirting with neutral or negative feedback" LOL he flirted with an excellent way of being featured on a RUclips video as PAIN IN THE NECK Buyer and made it hahahaha. I always figure that those who are being this ugly, must have horrible lives and truly hate themselves, which is why they have to be ugly like this to others, so they can feel just a little bit better about themselves. I pity them. But, for every pain in the neck, there's at least 10 AWESOME Buyers and they make it all worthwhile! :) HAPPY late THANKSGIVING!
I've asked this before but I don't think you saw it. I am wondering how you know the weight and dimensions of the box for the listing if you don't pack the items up? You need to know this info in order to sell something "plus shipping." Many items I sell are right on the border between 1st class and parcel post/FedEx ground. Adding the box weight and packing materials can actually push it over a hair and change the method you are using. eBay also tells the buyer the method you are using. Just curious how you handle the "plus shipping" on your listings.
That is feedback extortion and is against ebay policy there should be no problem having it removed

For me it seems the USPS is great 98% of the time. But the other 2% is horrible lately. It would be understandable if a package were a day or two late because of recent events, but when one of the 2% have not even been scanned in the system for 2 or more weeks it gets frustrating as hell!

I use bins and my item goes into the bin with space. I then notate the bin in Inkfrog with the location. Makes it so much easier to locate items.

PS2 slims are the easiest to repair if the game doesn't spin. Pop the top off, and tighten the screw on the lid. The problem was the console doesn't think the lid is closed. Tightening that screw for some reason fixes that.

Great sales John. Seems like we’re all getting hit by bad behavior lately, I guess it’s not surprising that it would be in the online community since it’s so prevalent nowadays. Just have to grin and bear it, no point in meeting them where they live. Hope you aren’t bothered by removing a neg. feedback, that guy was ‘flirting’ with a negative feedback threat, not a good idea.

How do you decide when to offer free shipping and when not to?
I used to do ebay. Every time I had a problem Id go through all their policies to see if I needed to escalate to ebay or should I just resolve it myself. Sometimes they are right. First off, its against ebay policy to threaten a seller with negative feedback. They will enforce that since seller cant leave a buyer negatives anymore. Very few cases ebay will take the sellers side, have to learn the policies because it helps them weed out scammer buyers.
I'm glad you got the parcel, I got all the Cincinnati Reds items in the uk, though the guy who sold me the pennant folded it into an letter envelope! btw i'm watching this on my birthday!

One of my sales was Priority USPS and it was one day over the posted date. The guy tried cancelling the sale and wanted his money back the same morning it arrived. I think he was upset because it was supposed to show up on a friday and he got it the following monday. Its crazy people don't understand its another business that delivers. Not like we have too many options. Its out of my hands once I drop it off at the post office . He left neutral feedback, but it doesn,t show in my stats. I think Ebay reviewed the transaction and removed it because they thought he was ridiculous!
Those type of buyers can be dangerous i try to stay away from super picky and aggressive buyers

I would have listed that shirt for a lot more. Its one of those things that will eventually be a one of a kind. I wouldnt have sold it for under 75 because its licensed. It would have went into my high end tub, especially since a shirt takes up so little room. I had to cancel a ton of sales because I didnt have a system like yours. I just couldnt find the stuff. People like moving my stuff.

Got my first negative feedback recently because the guy was upset about brand new computer part would not work on his Linux. Even though the product itself states its only compatible with windows/mac. This was even after giving him a refund and telling him to keep the product. I checked his feedback left for others, to my surprise, all red, complaining about some issue.
Blocked his ass and moved on
