Or in the case of a fair few b9tl's stand on foot brake, engage reverse, nothing, jump up and down footbrake, nothing, get an elephant to sit on footbrake, and we have reverse! It did always seem a bit odd, if the vehicle is moving the ecu won't select reverse anyway so it's not even a useful fail safe in that respect!
I feel exactly the same. Start a project and then the 'perfectionist' stands up so that nothing gets done because I can't make things 'perfect'. Iknow exactly how you feel!
Empathise about retiring. In semi-retirement, and going part-time, this one is working longer days than they did when full-time, and more of them. Not what was envisaged, and even less time to for things that were/are planned. I may have words with my employer.
I'd definitely have a word with your employer! I had a word with mine, I told me there was nothing I could do about it right now, but I'd review my case in 6 months!
I totally agree with you about the 5 Speed lance. Its a pity more companies didn't order them with 5 speed ZF in. I was never a fan of them with the 4 Speed ZF in them. They always sounded like there a crying for an extra gear. I glad you have saved this one. I hope to see it completed soon
I guess 55mph was considered plenty by most buyers. I'm surprised badgerline paid the extra for the 5hp500, but yeah, they were far nicer to drive. I doubt this one will be finished any time soon. But yeah, we'll see how it goes.
I'm in pretty much the same boat with my Plaxton Lance. I just don't have the time or even energy to do anything with it, but at the same time it depresses me to think I've owned it for years and all it's done is sat in a corner rotting away. I dread to think what it's like underneath!
It can't be as bad as 237 is, if that's any consolation. I've never seen anything as rusty as 237. 132 was bloody awful, and a huge amount of sheet steel went into it, but yeah, it's rather overwhelming, especially if you're on your own doing it. All that said, you never know what tomorrow will bring, and at least you still have it.
@lukeadelante8767 absolutely, as with several of the projects here, had a precious owner given up and scrapped it, it wouldn't have any chance at all. Which one have you got as a matter of interest
Sometimes I think the amount of work needing done is what can deter you from finishing a project... It's not even that the skill are lacking or that, but it's just overwhelming? I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop at your place, but I get that it's a lot, especially with other stuff taking up the time! Either way, it's great content 👌🏻😂
It does get rather overwhelming. I should have stuck to my thoughts of getting rid of a lot of it some time ago. But alas, no one wanted it, I can see why. Hopefully I can get a bit more time up there and actually finish some things sooner rather than later
@@adventuresinrust1644 we always start with the best intentions. 😂😂 As you say, fellah, you might get a bit more time! Buses are different... especially as you need a lot of space and everything is so much bigger. 🤔😂 Cars on the other hand are different! What's the plans for the ambulance? I remember the video of you getting it running👍🏼
@willwelch5700 buses used to be quite enjoyable to do, but I've definitely lost the love these days. Although bigger, generally they're easier to work on than cars, access is usually pretty good. The ambulance was next in line after the bus, and I guess it still is. It needs everything doing, but I do want to get it done at some point, it's a delightful, characterful, little thing. Again, much smaller than the bus, but needs more things doing..
A great long video, I can totally relate to time just going by and nothing getting done, you have a great collection of vehicles there,I'm really enjoying the Sheerline videos,is that a Leyland National next to your bus ?
Not much of a vid sadly, more rambling nonsense.. I think there's 14 or so lances still about. Mostly phase 2 Verde bodied lances, but there's at least 2 low floor versions, best I know my 2 are the sole remaining phase 1 Verdes, but I'm always happy to be proved wrong!
@@adventuresinrust1644They where never common round here, mckindless had a few slfs with berkhof bodies, seems pretty modern compared with b10m with Alexander ps bodywork that where everywhere here until 10 years ago
@groeacht8525 funny innit, I still think of b10m's as modern. I'm not sure we'll ever see a preserved N280UD or electric bus, so a b10m and everything of that era could spell the last of the preservation scene for quite a while
I love how some buses have "Are you sure you want reverse?" buttons.
Of course I want reverse! That's why I selected it!😂

Depressing isn't it. I know I should just live it, but...
sounds like a good plan, I still want a ride around 132, preferably before you next expire.
I'll do my best dude! No guarantee on the dying thing though

We care about BX's.
Love all the "danger" alarms on the bus as it goes down the road.
The lance has plenty of danger alarms, all of which now work, I think.

Not bad for something that hasn't started up for a while! Certainly looking more complete nowadays! Only another decade before its ready 😂
It's literally exactly the same as it was 3 years ago. A decade might be optimistic

Yes, it's a short mk2 national with a pod. One of a small batch I believe
