It's SO refreshing to see someone who does NOT have that "I don't want to drill a hole in my boat" syndrome! Get that drill out and get to it - regular drill bit, hole saw, what ever it takes to get the job done. I wonder if they'll make LED's that turn on and off some day when you touch them - that would be the ultimate LED upgrade!
That looks good and works great if you never want to use your VersaTrack system. I ran red LED strips ( Tracker is red) around the entire perimeter of the boat except across the very front and directly behind the driver’s seat (where that aluminum cover is located) and under the console. They are attached to the carpet under the gunnels with 3M mounting tape and are not visible except when illuminated. I installed white LED strips around the inside perimeter of each of the front compartments including those under the seats and in the battery/fuel compartment and put a blue LED strip around the perimeter inside the live well. Each group of LEDs is on a separate switch mounted where you put your dimmer control with a fuse for each run. I’m retired with some vision limitations. The compartment lights are a tremendous help to me. You gave me an idea. I have some aluminum LED channel that I can use to mount an LED strip on the cover behind the driver. I already have LEDs under the triangles on each side at the very rear. I could easy tap into the starboard LED triangle wiring for power. By the way, if you decide to light the front compartments, you should be able to do so without drilling any holes for power. Mine already had hole or open spaces between the compartments at the rear of each one as well as behind the console for the starboard compartment. You may have to fish around to locate them as they were hidden.
Hey you have made some great points. I will have try these if I want to use my versatrack. Yeah I almost bought the red lights for my boat, but since my boat is blue, I went with the blue lights. Thanks for watching.
Did you ever confirm if the versatrack still works? Love the clean install but I need that track system for a bunch of other things, lol.@@easttn.fishingdude4169
It came out great and love the way it looks! Tomorrow we're going to pick up my husband's new tracker Pro 170. I'll definitely will be adding lights. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job! I've got my boat torn apart as we speak for re-carpeting, deck raising, new compartments, and what-not, and want to do lights while I'm at it. You gave me some great ideas!
I bought the Bluewater led kit from TH marine. It was around $65.00 plus the dimmer switch. The sku number is 98-4. I believe it a total of 6 strips in different lengths.

Yeah your right. Sometimes you just got to go with it.
