    Great way to hold them down! I've never had one born with splay but sometimes completely my fault they've gotten it on slippery surfaces. Fortunately only happened twice while I was cleaning the brooder. I saved one but not the other.

      If I ever see one in a group for sell that has splay leg, they will usually give them to me and I go home and fix them up.🐥♥️

    Struggling quite a bit with one chick that has one leg that splays. She walks and wobbles. I’ve used the self sticking bandage that you’re using but she just seems to keep stretching it out. Don’t know what else to try 😔 And, she’s not a calm inactive chick. She’s quite active. Any advice?

      Maybe try making it a little shorter. Hopefully she will strengthen up some as she gets bigger and stronger. They are resilient creatures.🤣 Being active is a good thing. Please keep me updated on her.🐥

      I use vet tape which is kinda the same thing but works fabulous. I just had two hatch out over a week ago with this problem and within 24 hours they where both 100 better! Hope it works out well for you and your baby chics! ❤

    For some reason I haven't been getting any notifications on your videos. It's been happening to several people I subscribe to. What's up with RUclips not notifying us, you would probably have more followers if they were getting your content.
    Don't you just love the chickie babies! I have 16 in my utility room I hatched out several days ago while trying out my old incubator, now what to do with them 🤔 I have some purebreds coming in April and I'm chicken poor already. I just had to try the dry hatch method and believe me in my humid area of the country it works great. You only add water when you go into lockdown. I'll be using this method from now on.
    I had one with splay leg, but after feeding it some scrambled eggs and put it in the box on pine shavings within a few minutes it was able to walk properly.

      Mine just started back laying about 3 days ago. I am also chicken poor!🤣 What kind are you getting and what did you hatch?
      RUclips can be very choosy.😊

      @@GrannysCoop I'm getting some blue Cochin, Australorp, Orphington and Blue Americanas. I hatched out crosses from my Barred Rock roo and the many breeds of hens I have, all large breeds. Barred Rock, Buff Orphington, Lavender Orphington, Speckled Sussex, Wyandotte and several others.

    Is this safe for feather leg varieties? Won't it pull the feathers on their legs out when removed?

    • @GrannysCoop
      @GrannysCoop  Год назад

      Very safe. I have actually done this on one with feathery legs. That adhesive tape is a miracle tape. It comes right off.😊

      @@GrannysCoop Awesome, thanks! Does the chick with this on have to be removed from the other chicks? I don't have a separate brooder. You are an amazing help to newbies like me.

    • @GrannysCoop

      Remove only if the others are picking on it. If everyone is good, leave it with the others.🐥

      @@GrannysCoop Sounds great, thanks! I'm hoping I don't have to buy a second brooder, but it actually might not be a bad idea to have one on hand for issues like this.
