- I am Mittal Patel- a social reformer and the founder of Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch. I was conferred with Nari Shakti Award in 2017 by the Honourable President of India. I have also been appointed a Member of the Development and Welfare Board for De-Notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India from 2019.

Consider a situation where a whole section of the society lived their life and contributed greatly to the development of nation and still struggling to prove its existence not for decades but for many generations. No birth certificate or any document to prove their identity; No proof of existence! Yes, this is a reality of Nomads as we call in India and known as “Gypsies or Romani” worldwide. India is considered to have around 12-15% of its population i.e. almost 164 million people. Gujarat - one of the states - alone is said to have 5 million populations of Nomadic and De-Notified Tribes Communities. The majority of them without jobs, without education, without homes, without food security, without money, and without healthcare are living a life of dependence and drudgery!
I, Mittal Patel, observed the plight of these extremely marginalized people and founded Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM) in the year 2010. Gradually, we expanded the scope of our work to all marginalized communities and environments. At present we are working in the areas such as,
Human Dignity (Advocacy)
Housing Support
Livelihood - Income Generation
Education
Water Resource Management
Tree Plantation
Our work is spread across 95 blocks of 22 districts of Gujarat.

We are proud to be have Saint like Morari Bapu. We needs to Saint like Morari Bapu who is reformer and social activist working for less privileges normad community, women uplifting in prostitutions areas. We needs to accept our accountability and responsibilities on our behalf for poverty and bad customs in our society. We spends 5 to 6 lakh behind marriage and engagement rituals. But unfortunately we are not spending a 2 percent of our income for social cause. We need a sensible youth for our dreams of better India. We Religious leader should come forward for this .
