This was such a well produced and thought out video - even the AG sponsor clip was great! I love seeing more of Ottilie in your videos as well, she's so cool and supportive!
Life guard training we hold bricks in our hand and walk back and forth - we also lay on the bottom of the deep end with bricks. Lot of workouts under water. In the beginning I believe it's getting the body used to carbon dioxide, people don't necessarily need to breathe but they feel a strong urge to. Once the body gets used to the build up in the blood, you can make great progress with breath holds and under water activities.
We've been reading "Breath" by James Nestor in our reading circle and he wrote that lung capacity is the best predictor for life expetancy :) Glad to have you on earth for even longer now Jonne!
Stumbled across your account and so far have loved all of your content. I’ve done quite a bit of freediving in the past and I’m loving your journey thus far.
Nice video as always - A couple of things to remember for the audience. This is one part of freediving however as far as I am aware Jonne has not taken a freediving course and so there are some things that are missing from the video. There are also a few safety thing that could be slightly improved on regarding your safety and recovery breathing. As I saw below, regarding Wim Hof Method - Please DO NOT hyperventilate before a breath hold in water, it is an easy way to die if you do not have a qualified safety person with you who knows how to rescue you should you black out. If you have any other questions about freediving please let me know :)
I wrote the above comment quickly yesterday but realised people will want to know the reason why rather than me just telling you its bad. Wim Hof method involves hyperventilation (HV). HV lowers the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in your blood stream which makes it feel easier to hold your breath as the CO2 takes longer to build up. However it is the Co2 which triggers our urge to breathe (UTB). This is what actually keeps us safe. The UTB is a sign from our body that we would like to start breathing again to get rid of the built up Co2 in the blood. The trigger of the UTB happens before our oxygen(O2) levels dip below a critical level and we black out (BO). However if we hyperventilate before a breath hold we decrease the Co2 in our blood which means our UTB will be delayed and as such your level of O2 can reach its critical level to achieve a BO before we ever receive the UTB signals .
Cool video and very interesting topic! Ottilie and you are amazing 😍 Could you tell in more details about safety procedure? What's the meaning of all taping and it's timing?
Thanks a bunch! The tapping is for safety. Here's an article about safety during static apnea: www.deeperblue.com/7-tips-for-conducting-a-static-freediving-session/
Hello Norwegian ”crazy” man here. I did 3.10 after 1 week of training i never had someone to train in water with. But after around 1.50 I feel like dying and I just keep holding 😅. Last “experiment “ 60h awake standing still with my hand on a car 🚗 the same time i did a 120h fast 😂
great topic! love it 🙂. next try some dynamic training to get used to the urge to breathe in onother way, I use it a lot for underwater hockey. Ceep up the good work!
please do not do wim hof breathing in or near water - it can lead to black out and if you are in water without someone to rescue it is an easy way to die.
Used to swim on competition level as a kid so had to try what is left of those lungs. Not smoking anymore but many years of doing that in between. Got litle over 2 minutes on the sofa so I guess some capacity is still left but remember having over 3 min younger =/
How much of a difference does it make when you exercising while holding your breath? I.e swimming? Maybe a few other factors like technique play part as well then
Hi Jonne ! 😉 First of all I have been a huge fan for many years, I really like your content and I keep following you in your adventures. A few weeks ago you asked if there was anyone who is going on an adventure or doing a challenge, so you can document them. I’m sure you already received a lot of great ideas. But my girlfriend, our 9 months old puppy (Pinky) and I, are planning a bikepacking trip in Morocco, beginning the 16th of October and lasting around one week. Last summer we spent 1 month bikepacking from Greece to France. During this month we managed to raise money to donate 1 bike to @worldbicyclerelief. But this time we would like to have a more personal impact, so our idea was to cycle trough the north of Morocco (the exact route isn’t planned yet). And connect with the people there by giving them a sort of lucky charm : a lavender fish. This to let people know we think about them and to show that sometimes a little gesture of kindness can bring people together. Why a lavender fish ? It is because my family has a little lavender field in the South of France and they use it to create a lot of different products. My favorite one is the lavender fish which reminds me of home. On the back will also be an inspirational quote. By the way ! I’m Dutch and Pinky and my girlfriend are Frenchies. Hope you like this idea, Ophélie, Pinky and Miró :) (Ps: I sent you some photos of Pinky via your email and via our insta : mirophelie)
Extraordinary content as always, keep it up! But please, do some further research on your current sponsor. There is no scientific evidence that this overpriced supplement helps people with a balanced diet. The manufacturer's strategy of flooding all possible marketing channels and recruiting celebrities is remarkable, but that is also the only good thing about this product. Please don't let people believe that their health will improve because of this. Some fresh fruit and vegetables are cheaper and will help more.
I think your need to work on making your thumbnails more "clickbaity", your videos are great, but if you look at what did really well for you when it comes to views, the only major difference is the thumbnails.

the quality of these videos just keeps getting better, this was like watching a documentary. keep it up!
8:05 can't believe u put that in

Been asthmatic my whole life, Wim-Hoff has helped tremendously. Excited to watch.
top teir editing and top teir content.
thanks, appreciate it!

I feel like 2:30 is really good for just starting! Looking forward to seeing the progress
Stumbled across your account and so far have loved all of your content. I’ve done quite a bit of freediving in the past and I’m loving your journey thus far.
In particular, you need to look into recovery breaths. At the moment you may pass out the way you are taking your breath after the breath hold.
I had a proper chuckle at you floating about talking into the tiny mic - I really enjoy your videos, well done!

I was thinking like „have i already watched it?”. And then I realised I’ve seen few of those frames in the vloggg
you are crazy.
...and I love it! Keep up the great work
yoooo thanks 😆!

Still my favorite youtuber
Great video! Love the content
Do you think improving your breath holds will give any benefits to your swimming?
I am wondering has this any application for endurance sports (looking at cycling/running) stronger lungs more oxygen more power?
I don't know why you're not more popular. I literally don't understand
Probably because of his irregular uploading. Don't know how YT works, but due to that he isn't growing as rapidly as he deserves I guess.
Luv the content bruh
Great video Jonne, where did you get the spirometer from?
Hey Jonne, you can do Wim how's breathing exercise, it's easy to do and you get amazingly long breathe holds. I think I got up to 4 minutes once !
please do not do wim hof breathing in or near water - it can lead to black out and if you are in water without someone to rescue it is an easy way to die.

Ottillie is the best!!! :D
Thank you so much .... Would you be so kind to tell us the book title for your training?
So "manual of freediving" ;) ?
Completely unrelated to video but why do you always look so different in pictures than in videos? I find it so interesting
Love your videos :)
"And now d'training beginshhh." 👍
I love the winter wet suit
i can do 1:50s easily while watching your video. i guess i could be a good diver :D
"The bigger the package, the happier it makes you"
...
...
...
That's what she said.
are you ok?
Maybe try the Wim Hof breathing technique. Good luck.
as long as this method is not tried in water :) - This is an easy way to get into real trouble/death
@@samyadventures you dan do it the same as the video. Never do it alone, always someone next to you who checkes if your still, OK.
Feels like a movie
😎

dude! try the Wim Hoff method!!!
please dont try this method in water - only out of water
@@samyadventures yeah, of course. He's a man that checks everything out in detail...
What is the goal of all this lung training? 5 minutes?

This video is like a replica of the vlog
athletic greens is pretty rubbish. just ends up being expensive urine.
rest of the video was prett good though
