I have asked for this procedure, at first the doctor did not know what I was talking about. I was told it might be an option, hopefully I am able to undergo this treatment and not surgery.
@StevenMitchell-ml2tw my nodule was close to that size, and we have patients with even larger nodules in our Save Your Thyroid community. I can't say for sure if you're a candidate, but there is no reason why you shouldn't be evaluated to find out. I know that Dr. Agustin Andrade in Miami has treated very large nodules over 10 cm.
Jen, unfortunately they cut the nodule out, took half of my thyroid, but sense it was cancer he has to take the rest. My nodule was still growing and ended being over 10 cm,

It makes me angry that a procedure that is so common in Europe and Asia and covered by insurance is almost unknown in the US and costly to booth
