The conditions in the final match were tricky and challenging for both teams, as the outcome depended a lot on the toss. The Aussies showed great courage by opting to bowl first after winning the toss on the day of final. The pitch was not friendly for batting when the sun was blazing in the sky, the pitch was dry and slow and it offered a lot of turn for the spinners. The Indian team struggled to score boundaries in the middle overs of their innings, as the ball was not coming onto the bat well. They could not play their usual shots like cuts, pulls, and drives because of the conditions. The batting became a nightmare when the ball started to reverse swing after 35 overs. However, the situation changed dramatically in the evening, when dew settled on the ground. The dew made the pitch moist and reduced the dryness. The pitch behaved differently after 10 overs of the Australian innings. The ball was coming onto the bat nicely and there was not much turn for the spinners. The Aussies played their shots freely and enjoyed batting on that pitch.
