I started sleeping in my car during the pandemic since I worked in healthcare and was working almost 24/7. I lived in a huge house before then and felt so overwhelmed by it. Due to my hectic work schedule, I barely had time to even drive home, sleep, shower and travel to my next shift. Most of my co-workers were sleeping in their cars and I decided to do the same thing. I enjoy living in a minimalistic way.
Edited: I forgot to mention my favorite parking spots are hospitals and hotels. Walmart parking lots can be too risky.
Cool RUclips channel name change! I was wondering where you went on my subscription list and that's when I noticed. Have an awesome week and stay safe out there! 😊❤

Great list! A couple other places I’ve tried and had pretty good luck with:
    1. Church parking lots (call ahead and ask for permission. If they say no, they are usually knowledgeable about other resources in the community or even another church that might allow it, so be sure to ask.
    2. Some community colleges parking lots allow it.
    3. Various parking lots at parks or beaches can be a good find.
    4. I’ve gotten permission to park at some libraries before and that was a nice spot.
    5. Some social service agencies have let me park in there lot before.
    6. Cracker Barrel usually allows it.
    7. At friends or family members places.
    8. I’ve used a couch surfing website to ask to park in people’s driveways.
    9. I have had mixed luck asking farmers if I could stay the night at their farm. The times it did work were some of my best nights of sleep.
    10. One time I even parked at a police station. First make sure it’s not illegal to sleep in your car in that town. Then ask. Mentioning you are looking for a safe place to stay seemed to help.
    11. 24-hour laundry mats.
The list you provided is definitely more likely, but the ones I mentioned are doable if you’re willing to ask for permission. They are also a lot more likely to allow it if you are just passing through.

I wish there were motels/hotels that allowed it. All the ones I've ever been to have had cameras everywhere and they are always watching who is coming in/out of the parking lots.

I'm in southern Louisiana now. They got these mini-casinos everywhere and they usually have security, at least on the inside. A couple of them have told me it's perfectly OK to sleep in the parking lot, which I've done

So since Walmart isn’t really 24 hrs anymore it’s hard to do that there, also a lot of truck stops won’t let you overnight anymore I know loves truck stop has signs saying no overnight, at least here in Florida that’s the case

    • @RavRoving
      @RavRoving  2 месяца назад +1

Yeah walmart is different in each place from what I've seen and heard. That odd that the loves down where you're at doesn't allow it. I'm in the Midwest and they dont have a problem with it here

I slept in my car outside my large ambulance company's county headquarters a couple times since I didn't have a lot of time in between my shifts sometimes and was able to make myself comfortable in my car for a night, if the parking isn't monitored at a place like this then it could be a good spot for some people, I parked at the far end of the larger parking lot so almost no noise since it was also shared by a couple government offices, and only night shift EMTs were parked there at night, if you're not an employee of the place you won't have a bathroom though.

TO SAVE MONEY. Not paying rent. For the 3 months I've slept in my car, I've RAPIDLY saved the fastest and largest amount I've ever been able to before. And I'm 34 years old. ALSO, it starts to get Fun!! Learning new things from people posting videos in your same situation. Adjusting and adapting to it. I work 6 days a week so generally I use my car for short commutes and to sleep in for 8 hours. For free. No rent, no hotel, no couch surfing. There's ways to make it comfortable and easy. I've always had an optimistic mindset about everything, no matter how bad, my whole life. You just deal with anything no matter what. So you must be positive, and having a good attitude and mindset about living in your car is key. People have reasons, mine is to save money, and I'm doing it right now :)
