- Innovations in power tools have continued to improve in power and extend their working life. One of these developments is dumping the brushes in the motor to a brushless technology.
Read our blog for more information about this technology, and how it differs from its brushed counterpart: bit.ly/3Gzk2dk

The funniest thing about this video is that I was just asking someone what the difference between brushed and brushless is then I get the notification that this video was posted 😂
Your phone is listening in on your conversations.
That's not even a conspiracy theory, it's fact!
@@Jim55324phone and the NSA with Palantir
yeah it's scary , not funny
I get things like that way too often, even on the most obscure subjects. They’re always listening, lol.
Thank you so much, as an apprentice I’m told to Brushless always. They never explained why & I wasn’t sure how it works, you are a awesome man. Thanks
Glad we could help!
So glad you guys decided to keep the grinding cheap music blaring behind what this guy was saying. It made it more annoying and harder to understand what he was saying - super engaging... well done!
i love mine... best in the shop... everyone borrows mine, but that stops today..lol
Very helpful to know.
Glad it was helpful!
Could you review your silver eagle socket sets???
Does the brushless motor uses permanent magnet on the rotor ? If it is not then how is it spinning ?
They are electromagnets, the computer chip coordinates the activation of each magnet to achieve the desired rpm.
@@ronswanson4422 but the rotor is spinning and its brushless how could rotor be magnetize

Wonder why Makita switched to using brushed. They're still bloody expensive. Shrinkflation maybe.
If a brushed tool breaks its easy and cheap to repair, if a brushless breaks ( and they are hard to break ) you better trow it away and buy a new ONE!
Then why do brushed even exist
Over the years man got smarter ! From brushed to brushless
Brushed is a more cost-effective option. Brushless steps up the game!
brushed, you can give to your grand grand children, brushless i don't know the electronics will last and how much for repairing
$$$$$$$
Yea more expensive for brushless but the electronics can break also they must also be heavy duty and increase cost even more even tuff metal parts wear out imagine not metal parts? Might be more powerfull and not over heat as much compared to brushed motor but may be more weak in a way and not as tough. I never new power tools with brushed motor had a drawback due to brushes wearing out.
Why even mention brushes in 2024? I just see word brushless everywhere but isn't that the default at this point...
Could you review my neighbours?
Not to mention a short life span of circuit boards. Especially china made ones
