Hey Josh! Great Video! I have 6 Reolink Cameras and have really been very happy with them. I was thinking of adding one of these. Greatly appreciate your review! Blessings!
Thank you for the kind comments! I’m in the process of installing more than a dozen Reolink cameras after having installed several other brands. Reolink are definitely the best!
Great video, enjoy your enthusiasm for Reolink and Home Assistant. Question however, how did you end up plugging in and weather-securing the camera plug in? I was interested into seeing how that was set up for you. Did you run conduit? Did you put it into a box? Haha, was a bit disapointed that you glossed over the physical installation bit. Still, great video! Keep up the good work! 🙂
Thank you for the kind comments. You’re correct, I did skip over that, but I did so because it was rather uninteresting. I ended up just plugging it in unprotected and creating a low point for dripping in the extension cord and camera cord. Since it is suspended several feet up, it won’t be sitting in liquid. I did wrap the connection for the camera either electrical tape, but the plug into the extension cord is exposed to the elements, although under our deck. Let me know if you have any other questions or want more info.
@@JoshsSmartHome Thanks for the reply! Appreciate knowing how you had it setup. Haha, and totally fine to exclude potentially uninteresting bits; your video -> your call. Thanks again for the update as to how you installed. Keep up the great work!
I believe that the Ethernet could provide the network connection long term. It’s used for initial setup on the WiFi devices. Unless the particular camera says it supports POE, you would still need the separate power supply.

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. If you want to know anything further let me know.
Can you add ethernet cable directly to the camera or does it have tk be wifi?
