CONGRATULATIONS ON 1K! 🍾 I agree that the cover of Mother Thing is awesome and you totally intrigued me with Hurricane Season. Awesome haul. I love a book haul. I picked up East of Eden today so I'm ready to go in June. Excited! Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Have a lovely time, Jess! 🌷
I also have Once We Were Wolves on my shelf. I was thinking about eading East of Eden this summer, so I will watch for your updates on that. Hope you have an awesome time on your travels. 🌷
Hi Jess! 🌺 Great haul! The Devotion of Suspect X is an incredible literary mystery. It is so smart - I listened to the audio, which was completely immersive. I’ve also read Reproduction - I liked it - I think some of it may have gone over my head structurally, but the story was strong in my opinion. I am still reading Middlemarch slowly among other reads and really enjoying it. I also purchased Fayne at your recommendation, which I am looking forward to reading! 🥰 Jenn
Thanks for recommending The Devotion of Suspect X - I really had not heard anything about it (well that was clear from my video lol). Reproduction definitely seems like it would work really well or lose me - thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. So nice to hear from you Jenn - I hope life is being kind to you. ❤ I think you might really love Fayne too.
Bonjour Jess! I have downloaded Fayne on my Kobo reader but big books tend to intimidate me so I have no clue when I’ll get to it! 😅 I have started Les Misérables and Middlemarch is also on my night stand…🤪 I’m busy already! 😂
Fayne feels like a very Shelly book to me and it's definitely historical fiction! Thanks again so much for shouting me out on your channel today - you pushed my numbers up to 1k 🥳 If you were in my area I would take you out to celebrate!
“Did I buy a Japanese book by accident?”🤣 It would be great to make a video based on viewer book recommendations. As for the UK trip, I hope you can find time to do a wee bit of vlogging, and visit some bookshops, too. I’ve always wanted to visit the Bodleian Library.🌷
I seem to have mastered the "I'm a dummy but it's kinda funny" brand. 🤣I will definitely try to get some video of the visit for sure. I did a UK vlog the last time I went but just included photos for the most of it. We went to the Bronte parsonage and it was so moving. This will be my second visit to the Bodleian!
@@stalkingkafka Nothing dummy about it. I think of it as saying hilarious things that only fellow bookworms can identify with.😆I'm looking forward to traveling vicariously through you.
Hey Jess! I got a call-out! Yes, Rabbit Cake. 💛🐇 I'm also one of the people who loved Biography of X, which is takes place in an alternate history/timeline, so while historical figures are included (like Bowie), it's not in our reality, and the biography is definitely of an entirely fictional character. I've also read The Devotion of Suspect X (so many X's!) which I thought was good but not amazing - lol that you didn't realize it was Japanese! And I'll concur with others on The Wall. I really want to get to Fayne - maybe this fall? For some reason seems like a fall book to me. 😅 I have trepidations about Hurricane Season - almost all of my GR friends have disliked or DNF'd it (with one 5-star outlier). I have trepidations about Ducks, Newburyport for entirely different reasons... 🤣🤣🤣 🌷
Oh, thanks for the feedback on Hurricane Season - I had only heard rave reviews so that's interesting. I am more and more excited about Bio of X now! So glad to see you here in the comments Erin. 🥰
@@stalkingkafka Unfortunately one doesn't appear to be allowed to put links in the comments here, but if you can find Dr K 's (another Booktuber's) review on GR, that's the one that really put me off Hurricane Season - it concludes with "I would only read this if you have a strong stomach and want to meet tragic characters infecting horrific immeasurable trauma on each other." I'm not sure I need that!

Congratulations on hitting the 1K milestone! I loved Ducks Newburyport! It’s not for everyone but it really resonated for me.
Congrats, Jess - on reaching 1K! Recently purchased Fayne, can’t wait to read it. Love the Black Squirrel bookstore in Ottawa.
Thank you Shelley! I didn't realize when I initially went in there that they have a massive basement full of books too! WILD place.
Also, Fayne is soooo gooood!

Thank you Maria!

Hiiiiii Jess!!! ❤❤ Great haul! I’m keeping my eyes peeled for Fayne. I own Once We Were Wolves too.

I left a comment on the other video about where to message you re: East of Eden. You can disregard it now. 😉🌸
Yay on figuring out the East of Eden reading group.
Manhattan Beach is good historical fiction. Completely different than Goon Squad
It sounds totally different!
