Honestly I was thinking “oh what are they gonna do here”, getting ready to roll my eyes when the branches extended... but then shit hit the fan and my jaw went to the ground the entire way. Beautiful, heartbreaking, artistically stunning, and just so intense. I’m glad they didn’t have her just punch the King and had him use a holo-shield, it made it that much more intense as even tho he had protection, it couldn’t save him.
All in a show about talking frogs!!!!!!

The symbolism of this scene and its soundtrack are so densely layered and immensely powerful it's breathtaking.
A physical representation of Anne's growth as a person since coming to Amphibia echoed by a reorchestration of the song "No Big Deal" which she wrote depicting this as well as her newfound happiness with herself and her life in Amphibia despite being seperated from her old life, parents, and friends. This is represented by Sprig himself, and is nearly taken from her as Andrias seemingly kills Sprig. She wants that happiness back, "GIVE HIM BACK!", is coupled with the awakening of her calamity powers, a physical manifestation around that happiness thought foregone, as well as her maturity as a person symbolized by the blooming of the leaves and branches in her hair.
Anne's transformation is also indicative of her ability to own her flaws and mistakes, which is what the show is really about and what separates Anne from Sasha and Marcy who do not own their faults and suffer for it while Anne fully blossoms into her true self, her best self.
All of this alongside an emotional orchestration of a song Anne herself wrote depicting her life in Amphibia in the background of a climactic battle. What more needs to be said? It's the perfect climax with a perfect soundtrack. It's also humorously alluded to in the season 1 episode of Snow Day, when Anne remarks on how all of her time in Amphibia has lead to a great moment of fate and karma, among many other amazing foreshadows this show has to offer.
This show is just so masterfully crafted in every way and has become my new favorite cartoon of all time after Avatar: The Last Airbender. The symbolism and music are what really make this show what it is I feel moreso than anything else and it really goes to show how far simple literary and atmospheric elements can do for visual storytelling. It's all so well thought out and crafted and yet still has all the appeal of a cute cartoon show. A perfect blend of cartoon fun and mature themes. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a pandemic than to watch Anne's story in Amphibia unfold.
To whomever created this particular musical piece, you are a genius.

It's also heartbreaking if you think about it. She's going through so much pain in a short amount of time that Sprig's supposed death made her snap. To me, this feels like she is mourning loss of the happiness she had found in Amphibia.

Amphibia's soundtrack is a tremendous masterpiece.
It’s crazy to think that Anne is so powerful even though her stone was only half charged and it was only one of three.

I think the other temples actually drained Marcy and Sasha’s powers, but Anne still had her powers because she didn’t fully charge her gem at her temple

@@rodanandme pretty sure when the gem linked to her again in TC she absorbed all its powers again and her half charging it or ‘having 50% of her powers’ was more like a connection so she could access the powers easier than the other two who will have to work harder especially Marcy as she’s possessed by the night.
Nope, she used all of her powers here.
She only had 50% of the power inside of her (because the gem drained it) but in True Colors, you can see the gem giving her the rest of the power.
The fact they used “No Big Deal” for this is FROGGIN’ AWESOME!!!

i remember seeing her all over the internet and yet when i watched the episode i was blown away by how much it still hit me despite the spoilers. probably the sudden banger animation
Same with me i knew mostly what happened in the episodes but i still cried at Anne’s Calamity Awakening scene because for me the scene and especially the music was just so emotional
My favourite part about this piece is that it's not trying to overshadow what's happening. It's letting Anne's actions drive the moment and not trying to fill the moment to the brink, it's left room for you to just watch and absorb what's happening.

It gives me so much chills whenever I hear this. The show creaters are genius. No big deal orchestral version playing while Anne reaching her full potential powers, it's just masterpiece

I rewatched this episode a few hours before the season 3 premiere and i even tho it was my fifth time watching true colors i still bawled my eyes out at this music

This music is simply a masterpiece. It's perfectly captured the moment of tru colours and I can't say I didn't cry
I just want to point out when Anne said "give him back... GIVE... HIM... BACK!!!" Brenda Song said this with so much emotion that I have NEVER heard from any actor. No performance could top the way she perfectly captured Anne's despair and desperation. It was so heartbreaking, but God it was so powerful. The actors were not messing around with this episode. Incredible.

This is gorgeous, it played so well with the esthetics of the entire finale of that episode , its truly remarkable how beautiful amphibia is and how the majority of people don't understand that , overall its a really beautiful show in my opinion and this song of the sound track is truley magnificent
