THIS IS A TRANSLATION OF THE BACKGROUND VOICE :D I HOPE YOU'LL ENJOY IT :) :
« They are called "Le Bijou", "Ciné-Palace", "Les Variétés" or we simply give them the name of the street they are in: they are the old local movie theaters. The gates of this one will never be opened again: it already no longer has a name. Only Belmondo’s and Anna Karina’s faces on the posters of the two last movies that had been screened remind us that there used to be a movie theater in this place. We also still can see things that have not been destroyed, things that time has altered like the impressions of the letters and the light bulbs that will never shine again. The rest is dead. A local shopkeeper told us "The movie theater is sold. A garage is going to be built in its place because it is more gainful". Further down the Boulevard Saint Antoine, another movie theater is closed forever. We used to have fun there! What a pity...

My love for movies doesn't come from Film Libraries or books, but from small local movie theaters like those. I started to love movies as unreal and magical things. I wasn’t aware of who made the movies or where they were made: I was just dreaming through captivating adventures. It gave me what I was looking for: an idea of freedom, evasion and dream.
There still are some local movie theaters. In Pigalle, this one was originally made to be a theater. If they pay 1F35, children can still spend their whole afternoons there, on Thersdays. Inside, nothing has changed. The intermission is endless but it is a part of the show.

Our heroes are not aging due to the dust on their pictures: they are getting old because youth doesn't have the same face as them. Children don't know their names, we hardly recognize them and some of them are forever forgotten.
Look at him: what is he dreaming about? Does he want to be one of those dead but yet powerful photographs that live for a time as short as a movie and then disappear to be randomly reborn through the programme ?
We are loosing our small movie theaters: seats are broken, time alters everything. The local shopkeeper also told me "We are in a time of specialisation. There will be no more small local movie theaters. There will only be districts specialized in movie theaters (there's a pun I can't translate here,, so I have translated the meaning of it)
So let’s say goodbye to the small movie theater on the Boulevard Saint Antoine... Gas pomps of the coming new garage are on their ways ! »

Le bijou est toujours un ouvrage travaillé, ciné des jours inoubliables, ciné des images exquises, ciné vertiges de sensualité...
En ces jours, l'on rend hommage à Jean-Paul Belmondo qui vient de mourir, et ses films sont rediffusés partout, que l'on a vus, déjà, et que l'on revoit avec joie et tristesse, mais qui sait que dans ce bijou de film, il est là, revenant de plan en plan, dans une sorte d'hommage en douce et sans tapage - dans ce bijou de film réalisé par l'orfèvre Guy Gilles, cinéaste en douce et sans tapage, tellement doué.
En 1965, Paris avait encore le look d'après guerre, très délabré. Beau court-métrage!
