This is a fun format. Players come to life through real conversations and teamwork, rather than only showing their character and prowess with long thinks, impressive moves, and a few brief minutes of a post-game interview.
Well put. I enjoy hearing them think through moves together. I do think it hinders the individual players style/game a bit because most of them are being courteous of their teammates input, however it’s fun to hear their thoughts throughout the game rather than, like you said, a couple brief sentences after the game.
@@jakebame3530 totally agreed - quality is a little lower. But there is a perk there too - they aren't all try hard, clammed up. They can have a little more fun, and they are still leagues beyond me.
Don’t get why many ppl suggest Magnus Hikaru - ego clash and they don’t get along at all. The actual fun pairings for this format would be Nepo - Dubov, MVL-Levon, Ding-Rapport, Yasser-Hansen, Jorden Van Foreest-Jules Moussard etc.
Alice honestly seemed right at home amongst these 4, not out of her depth at all. Will be very exciting to see how far she goes over the next few years
With this format one notices very clearly HOW MUCH MORE super GMs know about theory than everyone else (be it a good GM, an IM, a junior player, you name it). It's simply impressive.
I absolutely love this format. Having the lower rated player control the board and having them discuss moves verbally leads to really exceptional insight into planning how the game unfolds. The editing between the two teams and the narration by Naroditsky only adds to the quality.
This is truly unfair though if you think about it. Christian has been Fabiano’s second before. They have viewed the board together 100x times more than any other pair.
Yeesh, I got Jesus de la Villa's endgame book recently, and you know when your endgame's not in there it's a super GM level endgame. And this just proves his point that while memorizing openings always leaves you open to novelties (e.g. 12.Bg5), memorizing endgames gives no such leeway, but only if you know every subtlety of that endgame.
"Should we play Rb8 and then b4 or is that stupid, oh wait Rb8 he has b4, yeah" man I get that these guys are better than I'll ever be but stuff like that still makes me laugh 😂
They need to do the same format with these top level players, but have one of the players be a random 500 level player like me. I wouldn't mess them up on purpose but it would be entertaining.

"We're not going to know what the deviation is, so how will we know if we're deviating or not" - Fabiano
Good match, y’all. See you in the finals 💚

I love this matchup so much because both teams play together so well. It's a treat to see Alice in this group as well.

Yeah, Magnus and Hikaru couldn’t even design a sweater together!
It is absolutely crazy to me that Alice is 15, she’s going to be a monster of a player in afew years
She's only 15??? Fackkk fbi might be coming anytime now
She’s 14 :)
Life does get in the way sometimes

😅😅😂
@@TheSwaghilist But for most part it's Fabi vs Wesley
The 2nd draw was painful. Kudos to Alice and Wesley though
That must have felt nice for Fabi and Cristian .
I also didn't want them to go into the Armageddon .
They deserve this . Very well played 👌🏿.
Such a great format. Like in tennis, putting the best singles players together won’t necessarily win you a doubles match. Hope this event keeps going!

You mean Alice Lee-way?
Ohhh, Fabi is still fighting his Berlin haircut
Man!! Alice & Wesley have so good chemistry between them!!
pleasure to see them play as a team!
I'm so shocked by this format. So instructional and you get to hear such great tidbits of information from super GMs.
It feels like Wesley and Alice are rather similar in personality, which is why they meshed so well as a team during this event.

I really love this format so much, I will miss this event when it's over
Did Wesley move offices for the 2nd game?
I don’t think Wesley will EVER live this one down!
Fabi suggests a move and Christian thinks it’s a trick 😂
Thanks Guys and Alice! Excellent!
Daniel is such a good commentator.
Shouldn’t it be C cubed crew?
Good morning po and God bless
Magnus & Hans nieman will be epic team😂😊
Wow.. Wesley stocks fish
Would love to see naroditsky with a nice tight skin fade
Phenomenal

This format is cancer for the higher rated player 😂😂
Magnus would smoke everyone here
And that precisely is why he's not here I'm guessing.
I guess the format is obsolete with that knowledge 😒😒
Obviously lol . Literally magnus and anyone on his team would win or have the highest chances 😂😂 .
@RaniaIsAwesome i was ridiculing the original comment ;) of course. Aside from that, the players strength is only part of the fun in this format
They were just having fun and you taking it seriously lol
