  • John is very interested in learning how infrared radiant heating works and what benefits the technology has over forced air units. John quickly learns the benefits of infrared and why Schwank is America's number 1 manufacturer of infrared heaters.

Is this heating method. Can we use any types of material products in the infrared ovens? Like aluminium, steel, iron
Is this dangerous or even sparked?

What happens if a glowing incandescent lamp is subjected to intense Infrared Radiation??????

      Hi Prasanna,
While we have never studied this condition in particular, the following will be the case. When infrared radiant energy impacts the surface of an object, the energy is reflected or absorbed depending upon the ‘reflectivity’ or the ‘absorptivity’ of the surface material. Reflectivity is defined as the ability of a surface to reflect radiation, while absorptivity is the opposite, and measures the ability of a material to absorb radiation.
In the case of an incandescent lamp, the outer surface of the lamp is glass which is a material that absorbs very little radiation. If the glass is clear, it will allow most of the infrared energy to pass through, while absorbing and reflecting some of the radiant energy. If the glass has a white opaque coating, most of the infrared energy will be reflected, with a small amount being absorbed.
On the whole, while infrared radiant heating systems produce sufficient energy to heat buildings with large surface areas of absorptive materials, there is very little or negligible impact on an incandescent lamp. In fact, an incandescent lamp produces far more infrared heat energy from its hot wire filament than it will absorb.

This is good for warehouses stores and other big areas. Don't use this at homes. Moisture problems.

I use one at home love the fact it doesn't burn the oxygen in the air like space heaters .Oh and 1 small unit heats my home nicely blows my mind how small this thing is how it warms entire house .
