- A big thanks to Dan over at slotcardragon.com for sending us this awesome timing system. This system can be used for slot car drag racing oval or Road racing track set ups and with a little do it yourself it is perfect for hot wheels drag racing!

oh boy! I'm thinking Monster truck drag racing! Imagine the 1/24 scale trucks screaming down the hill from a Christmas Tree, this system would work perfect. Two separate tracks or launchers will be needed but this would work perfect! -Mind Blown lol thanks for sharing the info and the mock build, this is awesome Chris
Yeah buddy! I thought of all those things to, I almost ran a couple 1/64th monster trucks in the vid but I didn't have it set up with the two lanes to accommodate it. With the trucks it would just take one tire right over one eye sensor to stage it and the same at the finish. All in all it's a fantastic system with countless possibilities for guys with imaginations like you and I my friend.

Had a slot dragon timing system for my 1/64 drag track. It works very well and Dan is great with any tech support. The system that Jegs came out with is not very good as it only times to the 1/10. That might work for full size cars where a .1 would only mean a car length or so. In slot car drag racing 1/10th can equal many car lengths. My fastest car runs the track in under .25 seconds at over 60 mph. This means a car that is .1 behind is losing by a lot. My current system goes down to the 1/10,000 and I have had more than one race decided in that 10,000th range.
For my daughter I bought her the dragtracks set. You should check it out. It has pedals for each person to get reaction time. I ordered mine from summit racing. I couldn't afford the hot wheels track. You should get it to test the boys!
Is there a way to delay the time from which you stage the second car to when the tree activates?

Hey there is a free software called laptimer, it is used for slot cars, but you can adapt it for your track, and can use the 6 lanes!

You know Jegs makes a system specifically for 1/64, right? Not as versatile, I guess, but it comes ready to go in the box...does everything this does. Not trying to be a killjoy, but thought everybody should know. Faster the Dragster has some videos using it. Keep up the good work,Chris
