Map's author here! Thanks for playing my map! Currently writing from my phone while I'm bed sick... so I apologise in advance if this comment is written poorly... A bit of background, i made a few small maps over the years, but they always targeted gzdoom, the reason why i made with map was to play around after many years with vanilla doom mapping. I learned a lot of tricks and limitations of the original engine, and your analysis video on ghost monster is one of the main reasons this map exist. So addressing some things, the group of ghost chaingunners is meant to "surprise" you as soon as you make a sound after you shoot in the cyberdemom fight. The idea is that they attack you while you are distracted by the cyberdemon. You make the first shot at 6:32 to kill the spectre, and that should have woke them up and 6:41 they start to swarm in... Which it's indeed slower than it should have (as the room is really near) but you don't have to go near the exit to trigger them.The weird thing you make me discover with the no clipping was that the barrier i put was not working... They should not be already resurrected (and stuck) at the start of the map. So the issue i think it maybe something to do with the design of the "ghost room". There are 3 sectors, one worh the archiviles, one with a barrier, and one with the crushed corpses. All room works this way, when i decide to trigger a fight, i lower the barrier allowing the archiviles to resurrect the ghost, from once they resureected, as soon as you made a noice they will be alerted via the sound tunnels. All 3 ghost room share this design. The crusher you heard at the beginning was "preparing" the future ghost in all the ghost rooms. The crusher you hear as you get close to the end is one that kills all the out of bound archiviles so that players are always able to 100% the map. The hanged body was indeed supposed to be a jumpscare, it use an instantly lowering ceiling, it's not there for any particular reason, I just wanted mess with the players :b . The archie a 3:59 it's shield by design by the "blood tears" from the rocket, you can still hit him directly but you have to aim, i did that to avoid having it killed by stray rockets. You can lower the tears with the use key, or it seems you can just squeeze through them XD. A funny glitch in that arena that is that the soulsphere column like to swallow your rockets. As I found out it was another way to mess with the player, i didn't try to fix it. The archvile at 1:52 also glitch sometimes, where it start attacks before teleporting away, you can also easly wall run to it. For this archvile the idea behind it was that you shoot as tou see and he teleports away, and down then you find an active archvile (+ spectre and ghost zombies) so you think it was the same you shooted, while in reality it was out resurrecting. The single spectre in the room was meant as an obstacle to increase tje probability of a player face rocket itself. The three spectre in the corridor where meant to slow down the player to avoid him rushing to the exit.Once again thanks for playing (and also for the kind words and suggestions!) I'm still bummed by the chaingunners issue... Shame they didn't work as intended
Thanks for the submission! Cool map with a game exploit you don't see often, let alone building an entire map around it. Needs a bit of polish and a theme and you'll have a true gem.
Having mice in your walls is one thing but having an agitated Ayylmao that starts fires is even worse. Remember to check your home for archviles every year especially in Spooktober.

ngl, I love maps that turn bugs into features. the depth that this 30+ year old game provides with the right amount of creativity is mfn incredible. Back when I was just a boy playin this when it came out I would have never imagined that we would be taking it this far. another banger from the pumpkin man!
People go to haunted houses and horror movies knowing they'll be scared. Telling people it's spooky helps them understand how to interpret the experience. If the designer doesn't convey their intention, the same ghosts could look like just a rocket tutorial.
You know what I always think about is doom guy in constant sprint mode whilst carrying all those weapons and still sprints when he’s injured down to 1%. Guy’s a straight monster.
I was expecting a fight where you had to use the cyberdemons rockets to kill the ghost zombies. The actual fight we got was a bit too tame in my opinion. I think it’s a good idea that can be made more fun if the author isn’t afraid to get more sadistic with it!
I thought the crushed zombies was supposed to be scary and I expected to hear dying demons throughout the gameplay. I forgot that ghosts means ghosts mobs, described in a doom analitics videos, and not spooky ambience.
I love the use of Ghosts. Be really neat if someone made an episode / mini-episode of ghost puzzle maps. Things like using the ghosts to kill a cyberdemon and such. Also, what happens if an archvile resurrects a ghost thats been killed? Does it come back as a ghost?
What a cool gimmick. Enemies that turn into ghost-through walls by Arch-Viles is never a good thing so good thing Splash damage from Rockets is always there for you. Well, this was a cool map anyway. Well done. 🙂

@@madson-web Yes there are *a lot* of very talented Doom mappers out there. I mean look at such things as Eviternity 2, Sunlust, Swim With The Whales, MyHouse.wad, etc.
1:35 platform exactly 24 units higher than yours. And then you can Hurt them with projectiles. This is the first time I heard about that. Can you explain why you can hurt them then?
The truth is, the wad is very good. The only thing missing is the detail, I read an opinion that they gave you a dwarf, the same thing happened to me as him... And I have seen many similar opinions, I will go step by step. -The game has good Venezuela inspiration. -The game lacks more lore, like you just start in the prison, and they don't explain it. From there you can see the reason for the title -The background story of the creator is very sad 😢 -The dwarf that touched me invaded an entire country and now he's on the loose, he's a peru bear😢

archviles don't need to see targets to resurrect them, they just need to be near them. so they can resurrect through walls.

Awesome map P36! The chaingunner scheduling bug dampens things somewhat but I love the mechanics. Would love to see this theme extended!

3:18 There's only so much you can do with Doom's stock assets, but I liked the "dangling corpse" jump scare. Good job, mate 😊
