She had already established herself all over the world when she participated in the concert with Cetic Women. Haley is already a major star and will do nothing but get better. Hayley wasn't supposed to be acting; she was supposed to be giving a vocal performance. I think she did a really good job portraying simple sadness. With her pure voice, it's not hard to imagine a girl quietly crying. If she can put that picture in my head using only her voice, she executed a superb performance.

FWIW: This young lady is blessed with perfect pitch naturally. EXTREMELY rare. Like all real singers, she has little hope of getting far - whether from N.Z. or anywhere. She actually sings. Worse, she is Angelic in looks. Worse her choice of songs do not mention any 4-letter words except one - love. Last evening I was forced to listen to "American Idol" - being polite to visitors. It was horrific. All noise and zero real talent. Of course, I had just been listening to Hayley - so the comparison was a church to a cesspool for the mind................ Not sure, but an Audiologist researcher told me that it is already too late for kids after their first year of ..... TV. Neither our ears of nervous systems were "designed" to cope with that kind of "pressure". If you can feel your music literally, you are going to very deaf by your forties or so.
I think she's gotten really far. She's somewhere in her mid-twenties right now, have released a couple albums, tours internationally and have done work with many famous classical music producers and orchestras. I don't know much about the genre except that I love her music, but seems to me she's pretty successful.
I've watched Anne,Ruthie and Lea sing this song, I won't deny that they're all good, they each put a special twist on it, but I personally think the way the song is delivered should matter most, one might not have awesome vocals like Lea Salonga but if you're able to portray pain,sadness and despair as what Anne Hathaway did, it's just amazing to watch though her vocals aren't that great.
