If the federal reserve makes the money- that’s basically a product. If this is a capitalist society- there should be other “distributors” of money like products that can also be used. So the federal reserve is a monopolistic “money” making machine and that goes against the free market principles of capitalism…
A watered down response and word salad.
There is literally nothing stopping you from making your own currency.
Stop talking about inflation as though it were some ethereal concept that manifests itself upon the general populous.
As always, very informative and and easy to understand. Thanks Cameron... Aloha, J
Sometimes maybe it's a consumer problem, poor saving habits and more spending. Decreased short term lending rate should only be just that short term, in order to help your life get back up. Not borrow money and SPEND em on liabilities/unnecessary things.
hate missing the fomc meetings. that's how you miss trading opportunities.
Does your explanation take into account a zero reserve requirement?
A few tools to influence the economy!😂😂😂 a few!!!
We don’t want the banks to loose a lot of money so I guess we will just pay ridiculous amounts of money on goods and services!!!!!! Why do we care if we can’t afford rent and food?????
To hand out loans and grow 🤨

Bank Of America did a better job with the name. Pobrecitos los directores(as) de la FED, ellos son las víctimas. ACBSP forever and I was ABET for one year, Virtual World not yet supported.
Scam people. That's what they do
Good explanation. However, you forgot to mention how the Federal Reserve intentionally manufactures economic crises, so that banks and hedge funds can buy the public’s assets at a discount.
AKA Nazi dollars
I wish People in America didn't believe the Economy is run by President.. makes my head spin I hear it every day..
The president does have some effect, but I understand what you’re saying. There’s a lot of moving parts.
All sounds so wholesome. If the Fed' has these tools, and if they know how to use these tools in order to best serve the economy, then how come the economy is buggered to an unprecedented degree?
Why also, is inflation described here as the consequential symptom of price rises, with no mention whatever of the money creation that is the real cause of inflation?

Yeah, right. I'll do that straightaway.
I’m a trader of 2 years and it’s always nice to re jog the memory sometimes thank you 🤝🏾
It's crazy how The Fed references the banks and the Feds are FBI. Is Powell secretly actually president?
Pls do not control my trade 😢
Why not let the free market decide what happens? Why do we have to manipulate the supply demand? Why does the fed have this much power?
To help keep the economy from crashing, and (as ridiculous as it sounds) prevents some predatory / sketchy bank behavior because they need to be able to back up all their actions with a larger body.
@@TehBeavs yeah, i understand that argument. I’m learning about Libertarianism and it seems that a lot of educated / reputable scholarly libertarians want away with the Fed reserve and I have yet to understand that side of it. I need to learn more about that argument because if educated economists who are libertarian want away with it there must be some plausible explanation as to why that would benefit the economy.
Watching this from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Both at once?! I hope they can stitch you back together afterward!
@@WhompingWalrus 🤣 never heard that one
glad to see him here now
Why isn’t this a us citezens decision? And why isn’t there people defending the economy
That is called fascism
Seems to be doing its job
Why are all things cheaper today versus a decade ago when priced from the bitcoin system? As opposed to pricing everything from the traditional fiat system?
Was the fiat inflationary system a criminal design? Who actually owns this centrally controlled fiat system?

Knew I could come into the comment section to find the typical schizo conservative rambling lmao
SUPERB!!!!
Thanks a lot!
#1 the Fed does not “control” the money supply. the money supply expands and contracts every day through bank lending
#2 the reserve requirement does not constrain bank lending because banks can always get reserves (at some cost). temporarily going below the reserve requirement doesn’t trigger any alarm bells
