I love the ides of having M.A. cards with a regular deck of playing cards. The art is incredibly interesting and the system sounds complicated. I placed an order this morning and cannot wait to get my hands on it. I have a list of decks I want to get into including Etteilla. Wish me luck! lol
I completely agree, and it looks like we are in about the same place. I'm not ready to move into this system yet, and I've been holding off on starting my Etteilla journey because I keep waiting for a resource that I think is coming out....but I just don't know when. 😁
@@DerekJohnThomas I have several books on RWS that I want to finish before moving into Etteilla. However, I also recognize that RWS is probably gonna be with me for the rest of my life. So it probably doesn't hurt to get into Etteilla for a bit and then come back to RWS. Also, don't mind my stack of books on Paganism and Hellenic Polytheism that have screaming at me from afar ... 😅
@@modernmonologue I totally hear that. The book I'm waiting for is one by Caitlin Mathews on the Petite Etteilla. That's how I'd like to dive into the Etteilla system.
Oh, and studying both Greek and Egyptian gods and their stories is of immense help with tarot, in addition to the Judeo/Christian tradition. The symbols and stories are all intertwined in tarot (very much like the medieval Sholastic period).
@@DerekJohnThomas Thanks for the recommendation. I’m a book hoarder so I’ll definitely get this one when it’s published. I meant to share that I got a book on Amazon titled The Grand Etteilla by Julia Orsini. It is a translation of the three books published on the Grand Etteilla. I have not read it yet but it looks nice overall just from thumbing through it. The system does look complex.
thank you so much for being so thorough with your walk through! i appreciate you taking the time on each card, and going through the book a little bit. i'm not sure if i'll be able to get my hands on this so this is the closest i can go for now 🙏🙏
@@DerekJohnThomas i hope so too! it's soooo intriguing. i only saw someone post about it recently and i've been in a deep rabbit hole ever since 😍 i'm happy i can get my hands on the first edition of the book for now, although i do love the new edition's cover a lot more
So strange attractor press has extras from the kickstarter and I just bought the deluxe set and am so excited!!! Had to tell ya!!

I really hope they continue printing the deck or at least make it available for print on demand.

Thankypu Derek!!! I hope that enjoy this deck!!! Thanks for the walkthrough. I appreciate your time
I really wanted to spend some time with it as soon as I could. I see the lineage that it evolved from much more clearly now. 💖
Love this, wish it were available, love all the information!
I have a strong feeling it will be.
