Slave to host playback -> Ignore host selection ... I'm not sure but i think this feature helps with working in the middle of a session - for example between 5th and 10th bar. Let say there is a piano playing in the background between 5th-10th bar in a playlist, and at the same time you are working on a guitar in Newtime... the looped part will always start from the beginning in Newtime, not from 5th bar in Newtime. if this feature is unchecked, the starting points of a guitar and piano will not be synchronized. Important to select the range on the playlist between 5th and 10th bar, slave mode in Newtime and select "Ignore host selection" ;)
I saw the vid about NewTime that Image-Line made, i think setting the groove markers is with Ctrl+Alt+Click marker, from there you can shift them with the groove-knob.
Super Glad you commented! I couldn't get Ctrl+Alt+Click to work, however, I found that if I hold shift and alt while clicking existing markers, they turn into groove markers. Never would have found that if you didn't drop this comment 💪
I'd love to see you fix the time of a sample that has been played without a metronome. right now i have downloaded an instagram reels audio (with permission) and the tempo just keeps changing all the time since there are no drums or anything to keep the tempo, she gets away with it in the reel.
I saw the “saving me again” comment. Did this video help with quantizing your sample? If it did, send beats or it didn’t happen lol if not then how can I help?
Hmmm. In your sampler, try turning off “use loop points” and make sure “load regions is on” read somebody on Google saying that was an option. If it doesn’t work you can always live record the audio by arming the mixer track newtime is on, clicking record, and letting it play.
That is a good question! It really depends on the context of the song. If they are all in one sample, you will have to make cuts and then make each one "Unique as sample" or use newtime. If they are all seperate samples, you can just stretch them as is. Either way you will want to tempo match all of your vocals to each other. At the same time you will wan to stretch them as little as possible to avoid making them sound bad (unless it sounds good). If the BPMS of each sample are really far away from eachother I would say to meet them in the middle somewhere if possible. Here's a video on matching tempo if it is helpful! ruclips.net/video/Z6fbGb8DR_4/видео.html
When I drag my vocals in , the markers dont appear to the transients like shown in the videos.....What am I doing wrong ???? Do I have to manually do each one ???
If you drag a drum loop in does it do them automatically? I'm wondering if the vocal transients aren't large enough. If they do not appear automatically you will have to put them in manually.
Does the wave your loading have solid transients? If not that could be why. You’ll probably have to place markers yourself which is shown towards the end of the video. Not as convenient but it gets the job done!
Fl user for life but watching people use groovepool in Ableton destorys FL. I want to apply my MPC swing from the pianoroll to a loop and even using slicex it's just a hassle. I don't think I can even use pre made loops if I want to have the same swing on everything. I watched a tutorial on groove today and in Ableton is so easy to do it's annoying.
I've never even seen groovepool in Ableton before, but I'm intrigued. I'm not interested in buying another DAW but if it's in the live lite version and I can figure out some kind of integration I'm all about increasing workflow 💪 regardless I'm going to go watch a video or 2 just to check it out.
@@ScaleAudio the video I watched you pick your swing in the groovepool can be either 16 notes or just 8 notes, MPC etc. And then you can drag that onto any loop you want, drum or bass loop etc, and instantly will quantize the 16th notes etc all to the same swing and you can then decide how much you want applied in groovepool and it's doing it to all the loops you dragged it onto. You can then even apply it to the loop so you can see it in the waveform and it just moves it. I've never used Ableton but looks really simple to use. To do it in FL I would have to use slicex on every loop and even in slicex it's a pain to get all the transients. And then have to apply the swing quantise I use in piano roll. I did it in FL with slicex after I commented here and made the percussion groove a lot better but I had to manually slice some in slicex that it had missed. Ableton just looks a lot better than FL on using loops.
@@ROSCOEV You should be able to set your markers by beats etc. in slicex (still might miss some transients) but a drag and drop system would be super sick. Maybe if people start yelling enough then Image-line will include it in an update. I've used FL so long I have no interest in changing DAW's because I don't want to relearn workflow and interface 😬 I do love vocals in Logic though... Have worked in person with a few people who use Logic, and the vocal workflow is great.
@@ScaleAudio yea tried the beats in slicex but would miss things and also add green ones so would double up notes when piano roll dump. Annoying. This is weird. You and people from Image line are explaining very similar things. But I have tried what exactly what you're doing and I get error. I paid for my FL Studio license.

Not sure you can. I’m not in front of my daw and I don’t use new time often (usually use samples that are already on time) but I don’t think you can. I believe that process would have to occur outside NewTime.
You could add fruity balance control after new time in the fx chain. It’s a gain knob, just turn that up until you’re done editing and can normalize the exported audio.
@@iam.toby__1434 Totally possible. I’ll have to listen next time I’m in front of it. when you stretch audio you will definitely get artifacts, the resampling of the audio in newtime might be causing something perceived as audio degradation or causing actual audio degradation. Every plug-in handles audio different. Maybe newtime could be good for some lo-fi tracks where you’re looking for quality loss 🤙
You can slave playback to host with the chain link looking option on the top right of newtime and then use FL Studios metronome. Sadly that’s the only option.

How would we use this if the song has tempo bpm fluctuation as would like to use this in a remixes. Thank you
That would depend on your end goal. You could export whatever edits you made in Newtime so they become a normal audio clip in the FL Studio Playlist.
